Just for starters if you shoot photos, videos, or anything with your camera/phone/GoPro I would say this is a must have just incase. - whats it for - This is great for larger cameras and will hold a lot but it also works great for my GoPro and the screw mount for my iPhone. But you can also use it to hold other things like lights and mics with the screw spot! I use this all the time for different shots I couldn't get by my self or to wrap around a tree branch and hold my camera or other device! Can even be straight and used as normal small tripod - build quality - this is a great piece that does what its supposed to do and it feels very sturdy in the hands or when you wrap it around something like a metal pole to hold your camera. There is a top mount that is quick release which gives you options to keep that mounted to one device and move it off this tripod. Or use the second screw mount if you want to take the top swivel off and quick release. Yes the quick release has a knob based tightening system to swivel the device around, up/down, side to side or adjust the angle after you get the base gripped to something. This seems like it will hold up and would be good to have just incase you need a shot like this, many different uses over the average tripod and you might not think you need it until you get that shot and you can't fit your other stuff there you can grab on with this and use which ever camera you have with you. I would say this is a great addition to any camera bag or even someone shooting with just their phone or an action camera it works great. Good packaging, awesome device and I mean something to help get cool photos and videos that works with multiple devices!

I own 3 Joby GorillaPod's. The smallest one I use for my Nikon KeyMission360 camera. The 1K I use for my RX100 and a6500 mirrorless. And I just bought this 3K tripod for my RX10 MarkIV and a7R Mark III. Most impressive thing to me, is the quality of this ball head!!! I feel confident that when I set it, that is where it will stay. The rubber feet are very grippy on many different types of surfaces. The legs are strong enough to hold 3KG in any position you choose. However, I will add that if you put the legs in a position that allows a camera setup in the couple pound range, where a single ball gets to much of the work, then it will give out. Make sure to pick shapes, that allow the balls to work together. I would recommend getting a standard Swiss ARCA receiver (like DAC-X1) and mount on their plate so that you can use standard ARCA plates (I use the Peak Design straps, slides, slings with their ARCA plates). The ball head knob seems to do a great job tightening and I feel I get a lot of leverage due to its diameter and the rubbery grip. The panorama marks seem to be accurate, though if I'm doing really accurate panorama's with my a7Riii, I'm using a real carbon fiber tripod not the 3k (with that said, the panorama marks are more than sufficient). Be careful with heavier set ups if using the 90 degree/portrait option on the ball head. If you have a heavier camera and the tripod is just standing on a flat surface, you could potentially tip it over. Just be careful. When using the 3K for vlogging, the classic upward arch is VERY comfortable in the hands and I don't feel like my camera setup is slipping left or right. Each ball has a ribbing of rubber that helps your hands grip it. I will note, that I have large hands and three legs together for vlogging feels perfect for me, though it might be a bit big for some. Maybe try one out at Best Buy with some weight on it first?

First off, let me say I love Joby products. But, this one disappointed me though. I bought this to replace my well worn SLR model. Loved the look of the 3K, red and black. I put my DSLR on and within a few minutes, the pod adapter came loose from the ball head causing my camera to hit the floor. Luckily, no damage. So I put it back on thinking that I may not have secured it the first time. I slid the camera back onto the 3K and heard the click of the lock on the ball head. Not 2 minutes later the same thing happened, my camera fell to the ground again. Ok, enough was enough, I went back to my car and swapped out the 3K for my older Gorilla Pod. I had NO issues the rest of the day. I may have just had a defective unit, I don't know. I ended up returning the 3K

I got this after watching all the reviews and reading the positive feedback but unfortunately it just wasn't for me. The mounting plate requires you to have pretty strong nails or a coin handy in order to turn it and secure it to your camera, also it's really hard to get the angle you actually want. I'm pretty sure people would like it's flexibility but for me, the setup time is just way too long so it leaves in my camera bag until I find some use for it.

This product at first didn't seem appealing to me because of the price range so I was looking elsewhere but then just decided to make the jump. after opening it and using it its amazing! I use it to vlog and to set it up nearby for any video taking and selfie. The quality is amazing your definitely getting your money's worth. Very nice strong rubber and metal components highly recommend! Buy something worth your money this will last you a long time don't go the cheap route!

Bought this little tripod to go with my Olympus OM-D 5 camera and fell in love with it. Its sturdy and adjusts to any number of positions making it possible to get difficult shots. The legs can wrap around railings or tree limbs; they'll even grip to the edge of the kitchen counter. And it's great for working on any table top. I love it !

I was headed to Washington DC,Philly, Baltimore, and New York with only my backpack and a shoulder camera bag. So I wanted something small and lightweight. For the price, it did exactly what I needed it to do. I used a Canon 5D Mark III with a 24-70 lens. Camera shake was a concern, also had a extended hand grip on with hand strap, but easily can be rectified with a shutter release or 10 second timer. Highly recommend this for traveling with limited space and weight.

This has been a great add on to my on the go photography kit. I was a bit hesitant at first considering the cost but it has made outdoor photos and uneven surfuces much easier to work with. This easily supports my Nikon 5600 and was a great addition for vloging. There is knock offs out there but don’t waste your time on them as this is so much better built then those other off brands/eBay imports (I’ve broke a few of the cheap ones). Spend the few extra bucks- you’ll be happy you did!

I have been a pro photographer for over 20 years. I was looking for another small tripod that I can use a go pro and some other smaller cameras on. This tripod is great. super rigid and really zero setup time. Also due to it not being very big you can easily hold onto it for things like vlogging or set it up on a desk. Well worth picking up even if you are going to only use it every so often.

Camera jiggles on ball point mount

So I bought this a couple of days ago along with the new Canon EOS M50 and I noticed that I hear noise when the Gorillapod jiggles. The detachable mount is the culprit. I have a rode mic and that is stable and doesn't move at all thus creating no noise. But if the gorillapod is moved around it starts to give off a bass noise in the footage. Not too happy with it probably gonna return it and see if they have a replacement.

I got this tripod because I have a a Canon G7X and wanted to use it to make my vlogs and its dope!! I definitely recommend it to anyone to makes vlogs or just wants to make more steady videos. It mounts on mostly any place it can hook on to so its great. The head rotates 360 which is helpful for the trickier places you want to put your camera. I definitely recommend it!

Such a nice product. Always saw these but didnt want it till seeing some vloggers and wow it really works for that reason and other things like still photos and steady videoing when setup like a tripod. Different angles it provides keeps this a winner. Only complaint would be the ball mount is a little weird but still fully functional.

While I haven’t had any of the issues mentioned in other reviews, works as advertised! If you have a DSLR do yourself a favor and get the 5k, not because of the weight, but for the ballhead with Arca plate. Combined with peak capture clip I never have to take the plate off the camera and is easier to move camera between your accessories.

Absolutely love this tripod and the diversity of its use. You can get creative and wrap the legs around anything of your desire to get the perfect obscure shot. Fits perfectly for my Canon M50 Mirrorless Camera. Holds about 6 pounds of weight. I would deff purchase another one, also perfect for a light or mic setup as well

This tripod is good for use with light weight cameras. I loved the flexibility the legs afforded, so could wrap them around a tree limb or on a hand rail or stand the tripod upright on a table top. The description says this tripod can carry a load of up to 6.6 lbs, but the legs could barely hold my Nikon D800 with a 50mm prime lens, so best to bring your camera and lens to the store to see if this tripod will work for your setup.

This is a great addiction to my camera accessories. It does the job. If you are looking for a small on the go tripod or handheld tripod then this is what you need. Def recommend if you like taking low shots and do not mind that it doesn’t extend.

A lot of good places to shoot like the art museums, botanical gardens, zoo, etc. forbid your to set up a real tripod. This means that low light is going to be a problem because your all hand held. Throw one of these in your camera bag, and you'll have a way to stabilize your shots and still be following the rules. Also really useful for macro photography too!

I was sold on this by a best buy employee who guaranteed me it would hold my 5D with a 24-70mm lens for long exposure shooting. Ive since gone back to simply carrying my REAL tripod, although its heavy to carry around for shoots, at least I know it won't collapse during a long exposure. absolutely avoid this at all costs unless you're just vlogging. I wish I could return it and get my money back honestly.

I got this tripod because I needed something that I could deploy extremely fast that held my SLR. This is a useful tripod that you can do many things with like turn it into a monopod, tripod, secure it to a rail, use it as a selfie stick. It does all these things very well but not excellent. However; because it is so dynamic it is my go-to tripod for my SLR.

This tripod is great for light weight cameras. It is versatile and you can set it up on variety of surfaces. My only complain with this is that It is is said to carry camera weight till 3 kgs but tends to become unstable with heavier cameras and lenses (even within 3 kgs). My lens + body was about 1.8 - 2 kgs. If you have lighter cameras then go for it else look for other options.
