I love this tripod! I have numerous cameras of various sizes, but as the man said, the best camera is the one you have with you. This tripod is great to use with my little point-and-shoot, which I often have with me. And it is small enough to fit in my pocket or backpack, so it gets used more often than I initially expected. Most of my pictures (about 4,000-6,000/year) are shot outdoors, many while hiking, and that's where this Gorillapod tripod truly comes in handy. I can wrap its bendable legs around a tree branch, a railing, and uneven surface, or just have it stand up on a ledge or rock; it keeps the camera secure. I probably use it on only 1 to 2 percent of the shots I take but for those certain shots it's indispensable. I think I own three of these now. They're small enough where I sometimes misplace them, so I get another one and then the others turn up. That's because I take it with me a lot, and put it in a backpack, or hiking bag, or somewhere in the trunk, or coat/pants pocket - whatever I need at the time. Highly recommended, go get one!

I love this tripod for many uses, my only complaint would be is that the bottom part where you twist it in the camera can become a little lose at times. But very happy with it so far ! I would love to purchase the bigger one soon !

Works great with a remote flash!

With a small flash unit and a remote trigger I can add light anywhere to a shot. I'm using an old flash unit from my film days that only uses two batteries. Four batteries total with the remote and it still holds its position just fine. And it hardly takes up any space in my camera bag.

This is the perfect tripod for use with my iPhone 6s. I pair it with the Reticam phone mount but any phone mount would work as long as it can mount to a 1/4 20 thread. I have an in depth review on my YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/JZzfYPjwwM8

Returned twice because of damaged packaging

Never used the product because I twice received product with opened / damaged packaging. One of the items was obviously used. Not acceptable as a gift for someone. That said the quality looked "so so" at best and was not as good as the model sold in store. Ordered on line as a Christmas gift for my daughter. The first item shipped had obviously been opened and wasn't repacked properly. The top of the package was open. The replacement item was even in worse condition. Top of the package was open. Front of the box was torn. Returned second one as well and requested a refund which took several weeks to be processed. Took multiple calls to customer service to actually get the email to authorize the return.

My wife loves this thing. She takes it to just about any family function we go to. It's small enough to fit in her bag. You can set it up anywhere and get a picture. Those little legs will hold on anything from a post to an open cabinet door. And once you attach it to the camera, the part that screws on unclips from the rest of the pod so you can quickly just snap it on and off instead of having to screw it on every time you use it.

Ideal for smaller cameras. I use it for my Go Pro Session 5 and it is highly portable and versatile. Besides using it as a mini-tripod, I have been able to attach it to poles and fencing without a problem. Larger versions of this tripod are available if you have a bigger camera.

you can put it on most of the surfaces and attach to almost everywhere. The only reason I didn't give 5 star is that the design should be a little bit better so that it can attach to thin rods very well. With its current design it is not possible.

Prefect versatile, small stand for small cameras and iPhones (additional holder required) especially for night shots and time delayed shots. Small enough to pack In small bag and can be adjusted for a stable shot on a irregular setting.

The Joby Gorillapod provides a versatile way to mount a phone or camcorder with a standard tripod mount. Works well for small camera or camcorders, but need one of their other larger version for heavier cameras.

    FANTASTIC...but....

This is a GREAT camera bag tripod! It DOES wrap around steel posts (like at a ball field) tree limbs, and even some smooth metal square posts. AS LONG as it is small enough to wrap the legs around, good to go!! It won't work on a large telephone pole. Definitely use your camera timer however, to avoid shake from pressing the shutter button while wrapped around anything especially a vertical pole. ALSO...BE CAREFUL TO READ THE DIRECTIONS, ON THE LOCK AND UNLOCK FUNCTION... to remove your camera from the tripod, and leave the adapter on your camera. I managed to break my first one...but it was my fault for not catching the locking/unlocking ring that allows the unlock feature to be completed. OTHERWISE, awesome product that does what it advertises.

    The Best ….

…twenty bucks I've spent on camera gear in awhile. If you're a photographic gadget freak …or even if you're not …this is definitely an accessory worth considering. The Joby Gorillapod is compact, incredibly versatile and light as a feather; it's small enough to fit in your back pocket, purse or daypack. This particular Gorillapod is designed for small, pocket-sized, point-and-shoot cameras in the size/weight range of an iPhone. I'm using it with a somewhat "ancient" Canon PowerShot A560, which weighs in at 7 ounces, and it works great. The main structural components are made using slippery, hard plastic "beads". Each "bead" is wrapped with a grippy rubber ring, held together in a "ball and socket" joint arrangement with each joint fully articulated. The end "beads" on each leg are half-covered in the same grippy rubber giving the Gorillapod a sure stance on most surfaces. The many articulated joints means this gizmo can morph from a tripod to a fingered clamp or anything in between …just about whatever the situation requires. You can set it on a flat surface, adapt the legs to just about any angled surface or bend them to act as "fingers" to grasp a post, pole or whatever …let your imagination be your guide. The the camera mount consists of a shoe which can be permanently mounted to your camera's tripod socket …or not. Anything from a dime to a quarter will fit the mounting screw facilitating attachment or removal. On the top of the Gorillapod is a socket with a spring loaded catch and a locking ring. Once you fully slip the shoe into the socket (you'll hear the catch "snap") simply rotate the lock ring under the socket and the camera is held quite securely to the Gorrillapod. Caveats: I've had this tripod for a few weeks now so I cant attest to it's long term durability. The Gorillapod seems well-made and only time will tell as to how well the tight fitting joints that are the basis for it's versatility remain so. Ergo, a four-star in that category. Since this is a totally plastic device, it would behoove you to keep it out of direct sun or locked up in a hot vehicle. This model Gorillapod is a great accessory for small, pocket-sized camera gear and perfect when size and weight are factors to be limited. It's probably the best 20 bucks you'll spend on a camera accessory.

I bought a Fuji camera and wanted someone portable and light. This is perfect and it bends so I can put it on a rail or around my hand for a tighter grip.

For a small, compact tripod, this is far more useful than a tripod with telescoping legs. Don't know how it would stand up to the weight of a large SLR camera, but the legs are remarkably stiff, and hold their position well for any point & shoot camera you are likely to have. Plus you can wrap the legs around objects like railings or vertical posts, providing camera mounting options unavailable with any other camera support system (except maybe duct tape). So far, no issues with durability or reliability.
