Absolutely delightful for dinosaur lovers. Six teenagers testing a concept, summer camp with dinosaurs and dinosaur themed activities. The group includes a dinosaur nerd, a podcasting star, a Jurassic World sponsored athlete, two teens essentially abandoned by their parents for the summer, and a competitor’s spy. The series opens during the first Jurassic World movie. The dinosaurs run amok and the teens are essentially abandoned to fend for themselves when the island is evacuated. Each episode is a separate story woven into continuity by the group’s growing decency on each individual’s strengths and weaknesses as they attempt to find rescue. There is also an ongoing plot line of Dr. Wu’s experiments with creating new dinosaur species. The stories are well written. I particularly enjoyed the casual insertions of visual and verbal references to all three Jurassic Park movies as well as the first Jurassic World. Characterizations of the teens are excellent and they grow and change as episodes progress. The dinosaurs are excellent: as you would expect from a Steven Spielberg production. Excellent both for appearance and for the way they act. Everything is up to date according to current paleontology knowledge and theories. Besides, it is fun to watch! Among many nice bits, I particularly enjoyed the thoroughly singed, limping Carnotaurus deciding eating teenagers isn’t worth the trouble. (I almost felt sorry for the poor, gigantic, predator.). The T Rex arguing with its own hologram was fun, too. One word of warning, however. The dinosaurs behave as paleontologists believe they actually did. All the tension depicted in five “Jurassic…” movies is here, too. Nobody is eaten on camera, but several are eaten. Likewise, nobody is trampled despite the valiant efforts of an angry Stegosaurus.

My kids love the show and it’s nice to have the first three seasons I am kind of annoyed that the final season was not included.
