This was a redundant program. Did not use after the first month.

Works great, just don't try to run Malwarebytes

Geek Squad installed this for me, as I was likely to screw it up if I tried, but it has worked great ever since. Other reviews said that it wasn't always user friendly, but speaking as someone who is not necessarily 'tech savvy' when it comes to things like this, I have no trouble operating it. I can find where to do updates, set regular scans, run custom scans, and check quarantines and such if something is found. Only one warning: do not try to use it with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Those tech savvy folks who are reading this are probably saying, 'well duh', but I had McAfee and Malwarebytes on my old laptop, and didn't think twice about adding Malwarebytes to this one when I bought it. However, after I did so, my computer began to freeze every time I turned it on. Took it back to Geek Squad, and they informed me that Malwarebytes and Kaspersky do not play nicely together, and we promptly took off the Malwarebytes. Live and learn from my experience, folks. Otherwise, great program!

You never know it's working but it is!

I have tried N* and W*root and now I have tired Kaspersky, I have to say that so far, and I have had it about a month, Kaspersky is the best anti-virus I have had so far. This came free from Best Buy when I got my new laptop. It runs so quietly in the background, even when it is updating that you do not even know it is there. At first I was a little nervous so I would check on it to make sure it is up to date and running but now I know it is just that quiet. I even installed it on my net-book and amazingly it is running more smoothly now. When I renew the subscription I am going to get it for two years and three computers so I can install it on my mother's computer. It is a little more expensive than the other two but it is worth the ease of use!

    Kaspersky's back in good form

This came free (for 6 months) with purchase of Laptop. I had used Kaspersky AV from 2006 thru 2010. Then K-AV became bloated like the post-2005 Norton AV. For 2011-2012, I switched back to Norton which had leaned up. Since this Kaspersky was free, I decided to try it again on one of my Windows 7 Pro boxes. I've been pleased for the 2 months of use. Much easier to use than earlier Kaspersky AV's that required a Geek-in-residence to manage them. I may be a Geek but most of the time I just want programs that work without interfering with the task at hand. Problem for 2013 will be that I'll have to choose between Kaspersky and Norton, unless something changes. Maybe I'll just keep some of each for comparison. Note--I believe 5-stars is only justified when it can't get any better.

Check the disc before trying to install!

Pain in the *** to install. Although I'm a big fan of the software and it is very easy to use, if not to install, I'm astounded at the stupidity of whoever decided to stick the magnetic anti-theft device to the underside of the disc. Not only was it inconvenient to try and remove (and left sticky goo on the disc) but it could have resulted in scratches to the disc that make the already painful installation process worse. Maybe I was the unlucky one that got the reject from the production line, but I'm still unhappy about it.

    Best Protection for the Money!

    Posted .

This is by far the best anit-everything software package for the money bar none. I read all the reviews online before buying this for my other laptop, then when I purchased a second laptop for another family member, I re-reviewed what people were saying and I agreed with them that it fully protected my computer from even the nastiest of viruses, spyware and malware. Very easy to install and excelent support. The only thing is Best Buy will hound the living you know what out of you until the expiration date to re-subcribe even if you already have done so...not the product's fault, but BB's. Still, extremely annoying to have that pop-up each and every time you open your computer or another page. BB needs to correct this and now. I did talk to their IT support about this issue, they're aware of it, but to date it is not not resolved. But still buy the product regardless...it truly is by far the best, even beyond those two, three times as expensive. I've seen no others that have done any better or as well as this one. I am 100% sold and satisfied and that never happens....EVER!

    Great Anti-Virus software

I loved the Kapersky Anti-Virus software. It was easy to install and I felt it protected my computers well. I especially liked that I was aske if I wanted my flash drive scanned when I would plug it into my computer. My only complaint is that when I wanted to renew my anti-virus coverage I could only get it for one user when I was originlly able to protect up to three computers.

I got this software when I purchaced my computer because the guy at bestbuy said it was the best and it took me awhile to understand to install it. It only had an update every once and awhile but after 5 months there is atleast 2 updates a day and it get very annoying but over all it is a good program and its easy to work.

It was more expensive then others but it works sooo much better. Last time we bought it, we got a 2 year subscription, this time we only got 1 year for the same price. Not as nice as last years. Would buy it again before I bought another brand.

    Finicky program

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have to continually tell the program to update when I turn on my computer. It tells me daily that I am out of date. After the first 30 days, it told me the subscription had expired, even though it is a one-year subscription. It requires a lot of hand-holding to have it running. I prefer a program that gets installed, completes its own updates, and just works quietly in the background without my nudging it to work.

    Does a decent job.

It does a decent job, but not sure any of them do a good job. I wouldn't have an anti-virus protection that didn't work with Malwarebytes, as it catches most of the viruses. Malwarebytes is the best for Malware viruses. I tried McAfee and had to have viruses removed 3 times and an AVG 2011 update caused my computer to crash when I had it, so I tried Kaspersky and like I said, it is doing a decent job, but nothing to brag about.
