Customers love the sound quality and bass of the LSX Hi-Res Wireless Speakers, frequently praising their big sound and smooth trebles. However, some users experienced issues with wireless connectivity and found the app to be less than satisfactory, impacting the overall user experience. The ease of setup and compact size were also noted as positive aspects. Improvements to the app and wireless performance would enhance customer satisfaction.

The KEF LSX Hi-Res Wireless Speakers are absolutely stunning. From the moment you open the box, you can see the meticulous care that went into not only packaging the speakers, but designing and building them. The quality is top notch as expected with speakers at this price point.
Setup of the speakers was easy. Plug in, download the app, update firmware, and start listening. Be up and running within 20 minutes (the longest part of setup was the firmware update).
Wow, once you hear the sound these speakers produced, you will be blown away. I honestly didn't expect such great sound from such compact speakers, but was very surprised when he my music played clear and crisp. I could crank the volume up quite high before any sort of distortion was heard. The sound easily filled my large two-story living room. Absolutely amazing sound.
The only critique I have for the system is the second app needed for streaming from Spotify. The main app is relatively easy to use and offers good functionality (setup of speakers, equalizer, etc.), but you have to download a second app if you wish to stream from Spotify. Seems like this functionality could have been built into one app for convenience.
But that's a minor inconvenience given the other ways to play music on the speakers. Airplay worked flawlessly, bluetooth was easy, or connect a device via fiber optic for clear sound.
I must say I wasn't expecting much from these compact little speakers, but was I wrong. You won't be disappointed at all.

I was so excited to get these until I tried to connect them to my computer. After an hour and a half of trying, I said, "F it" and took them back. Happy I did because the B & W immediately connected and sounded amazing!

The KEF LSX are phenomenal sounding speakers, especially when taking their size into consideration. They are the ideal speaker for a desktop environment. In addition the LSX are powered/active speakers with a built in digital to analogue converter (DAC) with various wired and wireless connectivity options.
However, when connecting to the LSX via the aux/3.5mm to a phone, my desktop, or anything else I would get a loud obnoxious hissing sound. I tried three different 3.5mm cables and had the same issue. I had to use the optical in so I could use the speakers with my desktop.
Set up was also a major pain. You have to use the KEF control app which states the LSX won’t connect if you’re using a mesh network…I have a mesh system where the 2.4ghz and 5ghz are mixed instead of separated out. All the other 40 devices in my home have no issue connecting with a mesh network and I wasn’t about to split my network into 2.4 and 5 just for these speakers. Luckily, I just connected the master speaker into ethernet but if I wanted these speakers in a place that I couldn’t easily run ethernet to them I would have been forced to looked for an alternative.
After the speakers were up and running and had their firmware updated I started to enjoy the sound stage and the KEF coloring on the music. I couldn’t use an aux/3.5 mm due to the hissing sound, so I used airplay to connect my phone to the LSX system. The LSX system was connected to my network via ethernet, then the music began to stutter and stop. I was 2 feet away from the KEF LSX therefore there was no reason for this to happen. I cast music to my sound bar and google homes with no issue at all, then used airplay to send my music the LSX for 30 minutes until I had the stutter and stop issue again.
Lastly, the bluetooth connectivity can be aggravating if you have more than one bluetooth source since the KEF control app doesn’t easily tell you what device is connected to your LSX set up. I really like the sound the LSX produces, however the connectivity portion is not well thought out and buggy at best. Maybe I got a mediocre set, or maybe KEF can fix these issues with a future firmware update (my set is currently on 4.1 as of 1/31/20).

Please keep in mind thst these do not work with Mesh Wi-Fi systems such as Google Nest, etc. Would've been nice if thsf was documented prior to purchasing these.
Got these connected to my PC and they sounded like garbage. These were returned same day I purchased them.

Was never able to connect the speakers to the website. Geek squad was also unsuccessful with the website. Gave up, returned them, should have kept my Klipsch Cornwalls regardless of their size. Huge disappointment.

The unboxing experience is nice. The materials and craftsmanship is top notch. You will need to download the app in order to setup the speakers, which did not give me any issues setting them up. After that, it's not as great as I expected. After they were setup, the app informed me that the speakers needed a firmware update. That took about 20 minutes. Once setup was complete, the speakers have a relatively good sound. Nice clean bass and mids. It seems to be mixing highs. I guess that is to be expected since it uses one speaker to playback lows, mids, and highs. Having a separate speaker for the highs would have been nice. When playing music at low to mid volume levels, they sound like any other average speaker. However, if you crank up the volume they can easily fill up a room with little to no distortion. They're advertised as having wireless functionality, but it's far from perfect. It offers WiFi, AirPlay, and Bluetooth wireless options. When I used them over WiFi, the slave speaker that was connected to the master speaker kept cutting out. I tried them over AirPlay and go the same result. The same happened when I tried connecting them via Bluetooth. They tend to work best when they are used as hardwired speakers. I ended up using a spare Alexa Echo Dot device I had laying around the house to use them wirelessly. I sent the signal to the Echo Dot wirelessly, while having the Echo Dot hardwired to the speakers. Maybe another update could fix the connectivity issue. For the price they cost, they should be perfect out of the box.
