I returned it after quite a bit of communication with Kensington. I was so hopeful this would be just what I wanted. I looked at a large number of alternative universal docking stations, read all the tech and buyer reviews and finally spent the money on this one for my new ASUS laptop with Thunderbolt port that is backward compatible with USB 3, etc. The docking station has a lot of tech limitations in terms of what machines and OS and ports that it works with. Kensington is quick to reply but mostly provides the same generic info you get on their web site. They kept repeating how to install the software, etc. They don't have any info on specific laptops and compatibility is still quite limited in terms of computer systems and cards they can work with. I only communicated by email due to may schedule, however, so it may be that phone communication would result in more targeted help. After lots of interaction and more generic advice (reinstall it), I gave up. My current assessment is that this would be a perfect dock for the new generation of PC/windows machines but its compatibility is still way to limited, Kensington put it out early but doesn't know what it does and doesn't work with so they are no direct help, and I think it needs a next gen of software and the market needs to catch up with this dock in terms of PC compatibility. Both sides (docks and PCs) are probing this new level of connectivity and the number of connections that actually work as advertised is still small.

I bought this dock because it had charging capability. The USB-c docks are relatively new and don't necessarily work with every computer. A lot of trial and error. I have a new asus q324 laptop but the monitor ports and charging didn't work with this dock. I returned it and went with an Asus dock that worked perfectly with my laptop.
