    was pleasantly surprised how it cooled both living room and kitchen area. used a fan to help pull the cool air into kithcen. both rooms are 12x 16. as far as being noisey per other reviews, this machine was very quiet,more quiet than the 12000 btu window unit. pleased with this machine, however...when unit arrived the window kit sliding panel was broken in two pieces.called best buy to get a replacement and was told they didnt have replacement parts and would have to contact manufacturer for parts..I would have to pay the cost.window kit was easy to install, took about 15 minutes from start to finish.
