4k upgrade on this title is very nice. Lots of colors and deep blacks if you have a solid 4k setup.

I have to start off by saying that I've never read the comic book from which 'Kick-A**' is based, but I imagine the film gets the tone of it right. That seems to be the most important thing about this film. It has huge elements of both action, comedy and drama. Neither of these are small elements of an otherwise dominate comedic, action or drama film. So, in order to mix all of these with a good balance and having to keep a consistent tone I'd also say it is the most impressive thing about this film. it does escalate from comedy to action comedy to action drama with bits of humor, but it knows what it wants and it goes for it with no regard as to who will be offended.

This is a great film from director Matthew Vaughn who is very talented at directing action/comedy films as shown by his work on Kingsman and X-Men: First Class. The story is unique and grounded yet very fun and entertaining, the characters are likeable, the action is fun, and overall it is a very good time. This is a unique film that made good use of its tone and style and should be commended for sticking to the R-rating as it came out before Deadpool. Anyways, the 4K transfer is great, the audio is good, and the steelbook is nicely designed. I also love that it came in a clear, plastic slipcover. More steelbooks should include these.

I had this movie on DVD and wasn't really looking to upgrade but this SteelBook design caught my eye and I couldn't pass it up. One of the better SteelBook covers with incredible artwork printed directly on the metal and the text/titles printed on a clear slip case. Looks really slick! The bonus was was getting a pristine and beautiful 4K UHD transfer that kicks the *** of my previous copy. Detail and colors jump right off the screen! Very recommended!

I never seen the movie and I’m not sure how I missed this coming out or on a premium channel. I just figured it was on sale, i will give it a shot and boy was I thrilled to now have it in my collection. I was pleasantly surprised, truly enjoyed the film. A great add to your collection if you don’t have it.

One of my biggest guilty pleasure movies finally gets a glorious steelbook release. I may be a little bias, but this has to be one of the most colorful, vibrant, eye-popping steels out there! Comes with a lovely plastic slip to protect the steel, and 4 collectible playing cards that really play into the everyday superhero theme of the movie. For lovers of action, comedy, and just the right amount of over-the-top violence, this is a must-have!

One of my favorite vigilante superhero movies. There is a certain realism and humor in it that makes it stand out against the family friendly Marvel and darker DC stuff. The 4K transfer is solid and really displays in great detail many of the good effects like the injuries during action scenes

Dave Lizewski, a comic-book fanboy, decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-A $$ -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There's only one problem standing in his way: Kick-A $$ has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl and her father, Big Daddy.

Its colorful character and lust for violence make it unique and one of the most uncompromising visions in the super hero genre out there today. Add in a performance by Nicholas Cage that is actually memorable and not just off-the-wall crazy, and you have a film that's sure to be a gem in any superhero lover’s collection. Pair that with a transfer that has its issues, but is a big enough step up from its 2010 counterpart and you have a solid, recommend 4K Ultra HD release.

This has to be one of my all-time favorite Bestbuy exclusive cases. Next to their unique pop art line: which I own the Resident Evil Collection kick a$s steelbook this compared to that they both look amazing. Impressive 4K release with the standard Bluray I use with my PS4 pro for a roaring grand time. Only critique is nicer artwork on the discs designs would have been appreciated.

If you are being raised up in this era of feelings, this movie is not for you! If you've seen this movie, you already know! But now watching it in 4K, makes me feel I'm in the movie getting my rear kicked. 4K has definitely brought it back to life!

A movie with this title can raise a few eyebrows. The movie is actually quite well done, funny, and entertaining. Even though it is a superhero movie, it is unlike any other in the genre. It is about a boy trying to find his place in high school, dealing with girls, and being a vigilante crime fighter during his free time. The special effects and action sequences are impressive. Blu Ray really brings out the awesomeness of this movie. It is kind of a hybrid between The Matrix and 300. Although I did find it strange and hilarious to hear a pre-teenage girl using such explicit language.

This is one of my favorite movies from when i was younger. It is a superhero movie (well sort of) but it is something i could relate to when i was growing up in my late teens. It is not a movie for kids, there is a lot of violence and some scary scenes for kids, i would say 14+ would be fine for viewing this.

This is just a review of the quality of the 4K, NOT of the movie; which would get 5 out of 5 stars from me. I just felt like I had to share my thoughts from my recent experience. I watched this 4K version. Then watched the Blu-ray version soon after and I barely see what I would call a 4K upgrade. I am particular with TV settings, cable usage, player settings, lighting conditions, so it's not that. And I have viewed other more recent 4K movies (particularly Avengers Infinity War) on the same setup which truly do look amazing on my lower mid-range 50" LG TV (UK6090PUA). My guess is it's because it was filmed back in 2008 so maybe the original movie cameras didn't shoot this in 4K or the producers of this disc didn't use a good enough tool or put much effort to bring it to the true 4K standards of today. I felt like I had to bring this up since I saw a lot of people here praising the quality which I didn't really see here on my end as a savvy movie watcher (just not a super video/audiophile or enthusiast). For anyone more knowledgeable than I, any tips to get the full quality out of my disc on my setup would be appreciated; especially from those who praised the 4K quality. Hopefully, your experience does not reflect mine.

This is a very well done film. Sure it is a super hero genre film, but it is also very self aware and had a different take on it. No real superpowers here. Just interesting normal people going through their lives. Funny and sometimes shockingly violent. Looks and sounds great in 4K and a worthy upgrade.

This is one cute movie and I had to buy it on 4k so I could give my Blu-ray to a family member that a bought a few years ago. This movie and the part 2 are both worth owning as they are both great movies.
