I picked up the Kicker TCompS 10" at first powered by the Kicker 1200w Max 2 channel amp and it just wasn't cutting it. Sounded decent but not enough lows or power. I took it back and bought the Kicker CompR 12" and tied with the Kicker 1200W amp and it's insanely nice and good. Thick rich bass at all levels, highs and lows. It puts just enough meat in the air to make your music feel rich and powerful. I usually listen to heavy metal music and this thing delivers insane bass drops and double pedal action making you feel like your near the speakers at a high end metal concert. I have the Kicker 1200w amp and CompR 12" playing along with a Kicker 600w 4 channel amp powering my VW Fender premium speakers along with Rockford Fosgate tweeters. The music is so clear I hear things in songs I never knew were there. The quality of the enclosure and sub are top notch, something you could compare to a high end luxury car. The size yes is a bit awkward for the trunk in a Mk6 Jetta but hey I wanted it and delivers amazing bass. I also tried to do a nice professional looking install in the trunk.

I picked this up and ran it with the Kicker CX 600.1 Mono amp. I have to say I am very impressed with the sound quality and thump. The sub kicks really hard and sounds great! The only thing I would prefer would be to have a non-vented box. I understand the vent makes the sub sound louder however it does come at the cost of better sound quality. A sealed box will have the advantage over ported and band pass enclosures in terms of overall sound clarity. A sealed subwoofer box will deliver a tight, clean and accurate bass response and have a flat frequency response curve. This being said although this subwoofer comes in a ported box, it does sound really good, clear, and loud compared to others. I would recommend it although I would be curious to hear the difference with this same sub in a sealed enclosure.

I normally don't review items but this is an exception. I purchased the the 10 compC for my lexus Es. It sounded decent and i kept forcing myself to like it. I went into best buy and saw this compR enclosure on sale and decided to exchange the 10 and pay the difference. Immediately upon connecting and turning on my car I FELT AT EASE. What I wanted the 10 to do this 12 did it at ease. The 10 gave an extended BROOOOOMMM (yes, with an R) while the 12 gave a BOOM with a (THUMP) which was what i was looking for. Don't fool yourself get the best if you can. And remember if your are forcing yourself to like something, you've failed... take it back and buy the premium one.

My previous system was a Rockford P3 so this sub does not match up to that power but is decent. If you are looking for in your face bass this is not the sub. But it does well for subtle and controllable sound this is an good way to go. Had issues at first, sub blew within a day and had to be replace. It was more than likely due to being faulty from the manufacturer. Replaced it and have not had a problem since. Kicker has a control knob that can be used with their products and installed near the dash to give you extra control. I suggest adding that in. It comes in handy when you don't want too much bass without having to use the radio controls. Overall it does the job.

can barely handle 600 watts and then you start to smell the coil smoking. The cone travel is probably under 7mm max. The old SoloBaric from 20 years ago had double that. No deep bass. Just sounds like someone hitting on a big wooden box with a sledge hammer. If any of you think this is SQ then youre dead wrong. I had the Old Kicker subs back in the 90;s These new ones aint nothing like that. Seems they traded SQ for quick prefab all ready made convience. Ill return it and get somethign else. I am greatful I can at least return it.

I'm no speaker connoisseur but I AM a music aficionado, and this sub is breathing new life into all of the music that I thought I knew from front to back. Clear deep tones that you can not only hear but FEEL, and the only hint of distortion I hear is from my car doors and windows, which can't handle the power that this thing brings. This sub is a beast, and definitely big enough for a normal sedan like mine. Highly recommended, and if you get Best Buy's extended warranty, then they got you covered so you can blast this thing without worrying about it.

I have this paired with a Pioneer GM-D8601 amplifier that puts out 500W RMS, which is perfectly paired to this Kicker speaker that accepts 500W RMS. After 3 months of moderate use, it blew. No block parties, no competition jams. Just regular usage. I assumed that it must be the Pioneer amp, because Kicker is top notch quality. Traced wiring. Tore everything apart. Couldn't find a fault. Finally, I figured I'd take a peak at the speaker. There it was. One of the coils was burnt up. I've used Kicker components for other projects. I guess I'll see how good Kicker's warranty service is.

I had a Kicker 44DCWC102 which is a ported dual 10 inch CompC loaded enclosure in a 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport. Definitely loud but it took up too much space and sounded a little muddy. I bought this 12 inch sub in store on sale at $188 to replace the old one and at lower volumes, it sounds just as loud. It does sound much more punchy but that could be because I haven't broken it in yet. I am satisfied so far and will give it time to break in before I crank up the volume. I have an Alpine PDR-V9 powering this sub as well as it did for the old one so I'm not worried of over or under powering it.

My previous sub was stolen when my car got broken into. I bought this because I didn't feel like shopping around for a custom built enclosure. This was a great solution for the price. It has a little more power handling than my old sub and provides plenty of volume without shaking neighborhoods or setting off car alarms. The bass isn't quite as clean as my old sub, however, it is a ported enclosure and I listen to a wide variety of genres of music, so that is a factor. It's the lone drawback, really, and I'd still buy it if I did this all over again. Don't hesitate if you're on the fence about this sub. It's a great product.

I've owned plenty of Kicker products including several L7 and L5 Solobaric subs. This was my frist time buying a Kicker Comp sub and I will NEVER buy another one. I paired this up with the Kicker CXA600.1 amplifer, which was supposed to be a perfect match and the subwoofer blew in less than a week. There is no way this thing is capable of handling 600w RMS. It's more like 200-300w RMS. I only had the amp turned up halfway. Don't waste your time with this sub. It's garbage.

Great sub, has nice lows, bought to go in a a 2014 Honda Accord Sport, after upgrading entire system and had the sub in the rear deck @ first. Wanted the box to fit all the way in the back of the trunk to save as much trunk space as possible. Didn't fit all the way back. Sub has nice lows, but bottoms out a lil @ high volume, but truthfully my amp is overpowered for this spec. sub. But I didn't want trunk rattling bass just a nice low end to compliment my upgraded setup. Mission accomplished.

I wanted some bass I can feel, but not so much that the neighbors would complain. I also wanted to actually have a trunk. This is a great all around sub & enclosure. The bass is tight while also providing rumbling boom. In a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited it borders on overpowering the factory stuff, but I bought the CX600.1 amp and bass knob and can tailor it to my music as needed. The two 12" setup would be overkill for me, but that is my listening preference. This makes my interior an exterior mirrors shake plenty.

Brand new to the world of car subs, but I have to say, this thing HITS. I paired it up to a pioneer amp (from best buy, too) and i'm really happy with it. 500 watts is more than enough (for now) for my little exonobox. Had the amp and sub installed at the Mueller location, and Ralph was a HUGE help! Some advice, DON'T go to Custom Sounds on S. CONGRESS. Just, don't.

Decided to try a DIY installation with my son in his BMW. Another car stereo place laughed when I told him it was a BMW. Probably would have struggled but the Best Buy tech gave me some free pointers on how to connect everything up. The gear sounds great. The install was pretty easy after a little homework on the Internet. Now I'm the cool dad!

This kicker subwoofer is more powerful than I originally thought and sounds much more defined and loud in your car than store. This fits great in my 2010 Accord Coupe's trunk and is powered by a Rockford Fosgate 450 Watt 2-Channel Amp and runs off my factory stereo with aftermarket CT-SOUNDS speakers running off a 4 channel 1500Watt amp. Not worth $250, but get it when its on sale and it'll be a great purchase.

Put 12" Kicker subwoofer in my sons 2015 Chevrolet Sonic 4 door sedan. Was thinking about 2 10" instead. But 1 12" was better choice. This was an initial subwoofer installation. So, had to add an amp, power wiring/cable, etc. Subwoofer works very well with the factory radio. Placed subwoofer in trunk. Subwoofer sounds great with limited vibration noise from trunk, license plate, etc.

This sub sounds great and the box is outstanding. Problems are with it handling any power or volume...im on my second one thats blown within 8 days. It's says it needs a break in time and they mean it...this thing will fry in the blink of an eye.. if u can be gentle on volume u will be impressed...my chevy silverado 4door was bangin until tragedy struck....twice.

This is great if your looking for some bass, but not wanting to take up much room in your vehicle. I had this hooked up to the 1200 watt (600 RMS) Kicker amp, and it hit hard my car. I did upgrade a few weeks later to the dual pair. Great single sub for the price.

Hits lows and mids pretty good. Have a Chevy Tahoe with the 3rd Row removed and i didn't want to take up most of the trunk space so I went with this and I liked it. But I went through 2 of these units and really wanted to get a 3rd cause it's what I was looking for but didn't want to risk frying another one so maybe I just didn't have luck with it.
