Davis, Adderley, Coltrane, and more. This album should be part of every music aficionados collection. Beautifully recorded and perfect for vinyl. If you could only own one Jazz album, this should be it.

I am only just rediscovering vinyl after many years of my turntable sitting in a closet with a broken stylus. After the purchase of a new McIntosh amplifier and some martin Logan ESL11s, I thought it time to mount a new cartridge and give it a whirl. After reading many reviews, I grabbed this and a few other classic jazz records to really put the system to the test. Not only is the sound quality incredible, but the musicianship is stellar. While this kind of jazz may not be everyone's cup of tea, I think anyone will appreciate this record. It makes me happy.

The quality of the vinyl pressing seems to be quite good...probably better than the original. This album has the reputation of being a masterpiece. I have researched various articles and videos on why. Although I understand what is being said about why this is a significant album, I have to admit that I'm not terribly impressed with the music itself. There is nothing that strikes me as very unusual, or difficult, or extraordinary. It just strikes me as fairly mellow, easy listening jazz.

I purchased this album after looking online for LPS that had great recorded sound and this one came up. I had just purchased a phonograph player and wanted to hear what all the fuss was about vinyl sounding better and found out that is not always the case. It depends on how the master was recorded and this album does not disappoint .They have reproduced Miles Davis at his best and this album was recorded in 1959! Puts most mp3s to shame.

There is a reason this is the biggest-selling jazz recording in history. It is perfect from start to finish. Even the rasp of the sax reed in the opening bars of the first piece on side one (“So What”) is great - you feel like like you’re in the front row of a small club listening to one of the greatest groups of musicians ever recorded. Get it on vinyl to get the real experience.

If you don't already have this album in your vinyl collection, you need to get it! The 180 gram vinyl sounds better than I've ever heard it before.

Absolutely love this and would highly recommend this to any Jazz enthusiast. Although any real Jazz enthusiast would already know the legendary status of this album, with Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly, Bill Evans, etc . . . .

Come on... It's Miles Davis! This is his best LP ever. With the stellar lineup of John Coltrane, Bill Evens, Paul Chambers, Wynton, and Julian "Cannonball" Adderley.. how can you lose with this class of artist? This is the jazz album for the ages.

I'm not a jazz fan. This album was my wifes idea. I played it and was blown away by how good and progressive it was. I'm a rock guy so this album wouldn't be on my list of things to listen to but I find myself reaching for it when I want background music.

What can I say this is a classic and the pressing is great sounds like you’re in the room of them with the soundstage in my opinion. Not a big jazz guy but nice change of pace from the rock or electronic stuff.

O.K., so I do buy reissues once in a while -- I couldn't pass this up - listed as the 'Best Selling Jazz Album of all time" - after listening to it, I can understand why -- excellent work - fantastic production quality on the vinyl, but they could've done a little better with the cover quality - inner sleeve is high quality -
