King Kong will certainly sell lots of popcorn. It will also cement Jackson's status as a 21st century Steven Spielberg, a master at creating heartfelt, effects-filled blockbusters at a time when been-there, seen-that audiences aren't easily impressed. But what would've made this escapist adventure even better is a little old-fashioned restraint.

Great 4K release of Peter Jackson’s King Kong, includes all the extras that you originally had to have 3 different DVD releases to have as well. It’s a movie that’s not everyone’s taste, but I’ve always loved how it expands on so much of what makes the original great, and I feel has allot more emotional resonance ultimately.

Excellent movie on 4k and sound is awesome! Will watch over and again. Thanks Best Buy for carrying great movies on DVD.

I enjoy this film more than most and the action set pieces and effects are generally very good. But Peter Jackson filled the movie with way too much nonsense to keep it from being a great time. The transfer is at times amazing especially close ups of Kong, but at least on my tv there were many scenes where the lighting was way too harsh and overdone. Overall good job and worth a buy under $20.

of all the versions of King Kong on the big screen, I think that this is the best version. Peter Jackson brought together a well developed plot with a very convincing cast of actors to bring it all together with the graphics that made the King Kong a very sympathetic character to life.

I really enjoy this movie for some reason. Have had it on Bluray for years, but decided to pick up the 4K version on sale. Doesn't disappoint. Great picture and puts the motion processor on my Sony TV to work. I enjoy the period specific stuff in the very beginning of the movie too, not sure why. Worth getting this movie if its on sale. I wouldn't pay more than $15 for it though.

Only reason I bought this film is because of the beautiful steelbook. It is absolutely gorgeous! Film is pretty good over all I did see this when it came out in theaters and glad to add it to my collection. Yes it’s on Netflix but there’s nothing better than owning a physical copy.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Watched it twice in the theater and own the BLURAY extended version. This 4K version is AMAZING. Looks and sounds amazing and it has BOTH the theater version AND the extended version. The steel book is GORGEOUS too and is a great addition to my collection.

I have this and two other King Kongs, the 1933 and the 1976 versions. The first is, of course, a classic and the second, well, not so much. I really enjoyed the story of this version and the special FX were awesome! Yes, it is a bit long, but not at all boring. I got this Blu-ray as an update to the DVD and the picture was very good!

This is the version of King Kong that we all fell in love with. The cast was well put together, the story was great and Kong was the best he's ever been in this version. Had to have this one in limited edition 4K steel book version. Get yourself one... it's worth it.

This is one of my favorite movies. This 4K edition (which looks amazing!) has different cuts of the movie along with all the (tons and tons and tons) of supplements that have been released over the years. All in a thin, attractive steelbook. So happy to have this.

I would love to give this film 5 stars, but coming from a critical standpoint I’ll point out that the movie is long, once you get to skull island(1 hour in) the pacing kicks up until a little bit towards the end of the second act. But if anything the final act is perfect, it’s a tragic, beautiful ending that leaves a pit in your stomach.

One of the best King Kong movies ever made! EVER! No ifs ands or buts.

This movie was really fun to watch. Takes you back to the feeling of older movies and tosses in some great special effects. They did a great job of adding personality to King Kong and you really feel for the poor guy in the end.

This 4k version only amplifies the great job that was done in melding real life with CG effects into one seamless film. The colors are vivid and the emotions on Kong's face are even more expressive. Don't miss this one

I do enjoy this remake of the classic Kong. However, I feel the length of the movie is a bit of a draw back. The build-up to the arrival at Kong Island was a bit tedious. Adding some of the deleted scenes from the original was a nice touch. Overall the 4K edition is worth the price of readmission.

Great remake with fantastic special effects. Peter Jackson knows how to make action/effects pop out at you and what better way than a big monster movie. It's epic and a fine remake of a classic tale of ape loves woman.

This disc has both the original theatrical version and the extended director's cut, which is more than 3 hours, but it never feels like 3 hours. Picture and sound quality are amazing! Sound quality will blow you away!
