Simple quick and the numbers are big enough for me to read without my reading glasses. As far as the app goes, I don't really use it. I did download it because I think it has to connect to your phone to work. I'm not sure. I just did what it told me to do.

Works Well, and Fast, Too

It does require you to download and register the app before you can even try the thermometer out -- which is borderline discomfiting, and may cause you to reconsider in light of your privacy priorities.

Thank you so much for the five-star review! We do want to point out that the app is not actually mandatory to use the thermometer, but you do lose out on a lot of the benefits that include: temperature tracking, health guidance, and having multiple profiles for everyone in your household.

It also makes the user part of a community. The aggregate information flows to a database that shows your local illness risk. https://healthweather.us/ Unfortunately in the last month our risk went from "3" to "67". Also their customer service is excellent. Highly recommended.

Very easy to use. Got it on sale for $12

Couldn't open the back to change the battery

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got one of these and use it to take my temperature every morning and upload the data to my iPhone and to Apple Health App. I used it until the battery died and was able to get the back cover off and replace it. I used it until the battery died again, but I was unable to open the back this time. You use a penny to unscrew the cover on the back. You have to really put a lot of pressure with the penny to get the cover to unscrew enough that it pops off. However, the 2nd time, the penny just destroyed the plastic and would not turn the cover far enough. I do like the thermometer enough to get a new one. I'd give it 4 or 5 stars if I could get the cover off! There might be other better connected thermometers out there, but this one is all I know and it's plenty good enough. It's fast at reading the temperature, just a few seconds.
