I am an avid coffee drinker, and I was a Kuerig fan for many, many years. But I grew tired of having to replace the machine every couple of years. My old commercial grade Kuerig gave up the ghost and I was able to receive this Kitchen Aid.
I am a really big fan of the controls which allows you to brew the grounds based on your taste buds. My wife and I are fans of a “light” or medium brew, while my son likes his strong. This machine allows you to do that.
It has the set time and the machine comes on and when you wake up the coffee is ready. And I had to try the pause-and-pour feature, which I have to be honest, I was a little wary that a mess would ensue. But it does just as it says, which is great for those that are running late and you can’t wait until the entire pot has brewed. I LOVE THIS FEATURE as I too can be an impatient person.
The water tank is easy to remove thanks to the well placed handle. I would suggest you follow the start-up manual and brew a couple of “water only” through the system before your first pot. The filter and coffee area/holder is really easy to access.
The Onyx Black color is very appealing and goes with my wife’s colors in our kitchen. Overall, this is a really good coffee maker and I would highly recommend it.

Thw appliance itself is nice looking and fits with the aesthetic of the other kitchenaid appliances on the counter but it is the slowest brewing coffee maker I have ever had.

We bought it July 18, 2020. The 1st exact one we returned it to get the exact same thing the next day because it was not functioning right but now after 2 years and 2 months it finally broke down. Exterior is very elegant looking. Function is easy to use however it is not durable.

For the last 7 years we have used coffee pods exclusively for our coffee consumption. Convenient yes. Ideal no.
So, when this KitchenAid 12 Cup Coffee Maker arrived, we were ready. We had a nice blend of ground coffee already purchased. Of course, the coffee maker was easy to set up. The water canister removes and re-inserts easily. The coffee maker has an internal filter but additional paper filters are available. There is a clock with a programmable timer so that we can wake up to a fresh brew. The warming plate has an automatic shut off.
This coffee maker is well made. I prefer coffee made this way over coffee pods primarily because it’s cheaper. This machine is well made and very satisfied with it. I have no problems recommending it.

My husband and I have owned various coffee makers throughout the years, all the major brands, the generic brands, the popular one cup makers, etc. Expensive, cheap, mid-tier. We’ve never had any KitchenAid product, but family and friends have sang the praises of the brand. Now I know why. The perks (pun intended) of this coffee machine really make it premium—brewing to desired strength, the pause to pour feature, the removable water tank, the warming plate, and the spiral showerhead. It is a pricier coffee maker that’s worth the price.

I love coffee. Like seriously I LOVE coffee. For a long time, I was an espresso-only drinker. Recently, I moved to a french press full-time. Unfortunately, by nature, french presses can go bad over time due to the metal webbing deteriorating. So, it was time to experiment some more. This time with an auto-drip coffee machine.
This KitchenAid coffee machine has honestly converted me going forward for the foreseeable future. The machine is incredibly quiet. The buttons are located on the side panel which makes it very customizable as to where you set it on your counter. The water canister has a nice large opening giving you plenty of options on how you want to fill it. I can't stand when the opening is so small that you need a funnel to fill your water canister. THANK YOU KITCHENAID. The warming plate has a nice custom countdown on how much you want to keep it on for. That's nice because coffee can go bad quickly, no need to keep it warm for 6 hours.
Overall, if you are looking for a really nice reliable auto-drip coffee maker, I would strongly recommend looking at this KitchenAid machine. It just does a great job at conserving the flavor of the coffee bean into the brew which is very important for me coming from espressos and french presses!

The coffee maker of the future!

I must start by saying that the design of this coffee maker is magnificent, it actually looks like a coffee maker of the future ... it has features that are too functional that make it unique and a great option.
The programming functions are quite effective and complete, whether you prepare coffee instantly or the next morning, it will be very easy to do it, one of the features that I really like most, is the strength control.
It comes with a permanent filter, this made me happy because I don't have to buy filters anymore, it just need to be washed and that's it.
The spiral drip system causes a noticeable change in the taste of coffee, every morning I prepare coffee for myself and I can notice the taste of the coffee, compare to my previous coffee maker that does not have this system.
The fact of being able to remove the water tank has an important impact when cleaning the coffee maker, it is so simple, but important detail in the day to day.
In summary, despite being a coffee maker with simple functions that maybe other coffee makers offer, the combination of technology, aesthetics, practice and simplicity make it a great coffee maker with an incredible color.

It's a coffee maker that makes good coffee. Programming it is a breeze and wonderful for when you're running a little behind in the mornings. Easy to use. The "pause to pour" feature is nice, but keep in mind drips will happen. All in all, it's a beautiful coffee maker that fits with my kitchen decor

The coffee maker has a nice set of features and well thought design. 12 cups max capacity should be enough for home use and it brews coffee pretty fast. The water container has a handle so it is easy to fill fresh water from the tap; this way you should not accidentally spill the water.
Initial setup is easy. For first time use, just set the coffee maker to brew water twice before using real coffee, as suggested by the manual.
I use “bold” setting to make coffee for two to four cups as suggested by the manual. It works well with the dark roast coffee. Though this is maybe a simple product to use, confer the manual to get the best results. Pay attention to the kind of filter you use on the machine as this may affect the brew.
The auto set feature also works well. You can wake up with freshly brewed coffee each morning. Overall, a nice product.

This is my second KitchenAid coffee maker and, after trying other brands, this one far outperforms others in this price range and above. Note: this review is based on using med grind freshly ground coffee beans.
The KitchenAid comes with a 12 cup glass carafe, removable water tank, and filter with labels for recommend amount of grounds based on amount of water. Out of the box I noticed a few unique features. First, the display is on the side, with a small brew light up front. This is nice, as it's not an obnoxious bright LED display, and blends in well with the other appliances in the kitchen. Second is the filter basket with graduated markings, I always struggle with determining the amount of grounds to get the perfect bold brew. The recommended lines made it such that I had my coffee dialed in by the second pot. Last is the removable water tank, which comes with a handle and lid, making it easy to fill and maintain versus having to pour water from the carafe into the machine. I'm a huge fan of not spilling water everywhere.
As far as performance, this coffee maker consistently works as expected. There is a bold feature (recommended for small brew amounts), two brew set timers, and the ability to pour while still brewing. Most coffee makers can't get the brew pause right, but this one does not drip or make a mess in the filter basket, no matter how many times I remove the carafe during brewing.
The only minor issue I had is that you must ensure you get the water tank fully seated. My first 2 attempts running water through the system, I didn't get it seated well. The coffee maker will not start brewing until you have the tank seated properly, but will beep twice and give indicator that the brew cycle is not active. After about 5 uses, the seal seems to break in, and now it always seats the first time.
Overall a great basic coffee maker, hands down the best in its price range.

Everybody needs coffee sometimes right? This coffee maker will feel almost all of your needs. It never needs filters as it has a permanent filter that you can reuse over and over.
One cool feature is that you’re able to select how strong you want to coffee from light to medium to strong.
Another cool feature is it has two timers. What does means is that you can set a time, for example whatever time you normally wake up in the morning, and your coffee will start brewing automatically.
The black glossy finish is a nice touch to this appliance and will look nice in any kitchen.
