WATER FILTER & LINE, DEFECTIVE....PER GEEK SQUAD
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've had this fridge 1 1/2 yrs. We have the ice maker hooked up, but not the drinking water (our choice). You have to change the water filter every 6 mos, so we've changed it twice, now. IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CHANGE. The old filters do not want to come out easily, and the new filters are hard to screw in. The plastic "case" (as I'm calling it) that holds the water filter (and pulls down to change the filter), was extremely hard to open & then refused to close. We called Best Buy & they transferred us to Geek Squad, and Geek Squad said we were past the one-year warranty and since we didn't purchase a "protection plan" that we were out of luck. They said they could send a Geek Squad tech to the house, but that it would be better to call KitchenAid. We called KitchenAid, told them everything (written above), and they said they could send a KitchenAid tech to the house for a one-time fix it for $500, OR, we could pay $45 per month for one year to have an extended warranty plan. We called back and talked to Geek Squad, and they sent two techs to the house. Those techs pulled the fridge out from the wall, and said that the water line is defective and that we needed a new fridge if we wanted to use the ice maker. We told them no, forget the ice, just turn off the water line. They did that on March 17, 2023, and it's now April 13, 2023 and the water filter is STILL dripping water inside the fridge. We've put a paper towel in the plastic case to catch the dripping. We called our plumber who we've known for years (licensed, bonded, insured, and also does commercial bldgs), and he told us there is nothing wrong with our plumbing or water line, and that the fridge is the problem. We have no had to buy a new fridge. So, we spent $2800 total for this fridge back in Nov. 2023, and have now had to buy a new fridge (different brand, of course). If you buy a major appliance from Best Buy, make sure you buy their protection plan even if you feel it's a waste of money. If we had that protection plan, we would've gotten a new fridge from them. What's extremely offensive and sickening though, is that this expensive $2800 fridge only worked fine for a year & a half, and Best Buy's Customer Service & Geek Squad people had no sympathy, compassion, or even an ounce of concern. They love you to death when you're making a purchase, but once you pay, you are nothing to them. When we told the KitchenAid people that this was crazy that a $2800 fridge would have issues after only a year, the rep was quiet and simply said, "well, tell me what you need from us." DO NOT BUY KITCHEN AID. I know that I've heard that Samsung fridges are the worst, but add KitchenAid to that. Also, the freezer area is very small. You will NOT be able to fit a frozen turkey in there for Thanksgiving. Fitting even a frozen cake is challenging. The stainless steel is not high-quality, either. I had some dish soap on my hand when I opened the fridge, and the dish soap made a mark on the door that is now permanent. I've tried the stainless steel cleaners and used very soft rags, but that Mark is still there. Awful experience. You're buying a "designer name", and not a good appliance.

Would buy again.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only reason I did not give this perfect remarks is because previous versions of this near identical refrigerator had removable rubber mats in the bottoms of the door shelf bins which helped to prevent items sliding about when the doors are opened or closed. I miss those mats. Otherwise, love the fridge especially the ice maker in the freezer rather than in the door of the fridge. Makes nice ice cubes as well and they're smaller than the ones made by the previous version of this same fridge. The only reason I marked down on Value is partially due to my age and the era I grew up in. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that an item retailing well over $2,000 only has a expected life of 8-12 years. The technology exists to build something that lasts longer but it's apparently not good business policy to do so. Very frustrating. It's not just this manufacturer but instead seems to be the acceptable business model these days.

It makes my food cold
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This refrigerator does everything. It makes ice, has a water spout and keeps my stuff cold. The towel rack handles are impressive and kitchenaid has included a nice touch with the red caps for a splash of color. The build quality seems more solid than our previous Samsung. It's only been two weeks, but so far this is a great fridge.

Great design for space efficiency
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simple, efficient design with not too many features that can go wrong. I like the freezer drawer and inside water dispenser. It keeps my food nice and cold and runs quietly. Overall I am pleased with this refrigerator.

Great Quality, Built Like A Tank!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love everything about this fridge. I did not want ice and water in the door because it always seems to malfunction with drips, leaks, and jams. I was happy this model was offered without that and the cool filtered water feature inside the fridge is the perfect alternative. I love how easy it is to access the ice in the freezer drawer. My teens love how easy it is to see everything in the fridge at the same time. The shelves inside the doors are nice and roomy and the handles are very sturdy and solid. The best feature of this fridge is the quality...Kitchenaid appliances really last and are definitely worth the additional cost. Very happy with my purchase.

Best Buy and KitchenAid are winning choices.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The French Door counter depth refrigerator is very sleek. This is the no frills model, and is quite a bit less expensive than other KitchenAid models. It does not have water and ice in the door; however both water and ice are inside the refrigerator. I went from a full size to this counter depth fridge. The interior is well designed to accommodate everything from the larger fridge. The freezer is smaller however as the ice maker takes up a large portion of the freezer. The glass shelves do not extend to the rear of the fridge, leaving a two inch space in the rear that could cause items to tip. I had some deeper glass shelves made to lay on the top of the included shelves to alleviate any potential spills. My previous fridge was also a KitchenAid. It lasted 17 years without even one issue. I never considered another brand. I am very happy with my KitchenAid fridge. Best Buy was awesome throughout the process. Delivery was super fast, and very professional. I will absolutely use Best Buy again when I purchase appliances.

Very Nice Refrigerator
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Because of space constraints, we had to buy a counter depth frig. KitchenAid has done a nice job of maximizing the storage space in the doors and also in the produce/meat storage trays in the lower portion of the frig. The icemaker works wonderfully! Filter is easy to access. Temperature and humidity controls are easy to read and access.

Great feature with water dispenser inside frig
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We searched for refrigerator without the water & ice dispenser outside the refrigerator door & found this one! It's perfect with the filtered water dispenser inside the frig, vs outside frig. We don't like the look outside frig door. Functions well & plenty of room!

Simple no frills fridge
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This fridge is not for the person that likes to stockpile a lot of food. With only 20 cu ft of space you need to just be content with having the basics which is what I wanted. I don’t keep many leftovers or consume a variety of beverages. This fridge fit perfectly due to its counter depth. Very simple clean design without the typical buttons or water dispenser on the front. I don’t have to worry about my two year old playing with the water dispenser. Perfect for simple, minimalist, dad. One small edge at top where you can see glue but only noticeable if you are looking for it.

Just what we wanted!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the fridge we wanted. The storage is well laid out, and the temperature controls are super easy to operate. Plus, the humidity control keeps the seal from sweating, keeping moister and slime from building up over time.

Nice!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We enjoy it it will seem small unless you know how to utilize its space correctly. Veggie crisper really works well. My veggies have tripled their life span. I like the door alarm too if my kids don't shut it completely. I feel that the freezer is super small. I'm glad I have a standalone freezer. You cant fit more than some meat and a small container or ice scream in it. Ice maker in freezer is nice but takes up a lot of space. Freezer Door is 'clunky' when you shut it. Water feature on inside of door is nice too and high enough up that kids cant get it.

Love my new kitchenaid fridge
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my new kitchenaid fridge. This is the first french door fridge I have had. It takes a little getting used to, but I lov the expanded space. I dont miss the outside ice and water at all - the access inside the fridge is fine. I love the spacious drawers and side compartments. The freezer space is a little tigjt, but it's fine for the items you use in a 2 week rotation. If you are costo people you need an extra freezer anyway

So far, so good
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've only had this fridge for a month and it's been great. The compartments are roomy enough for our needs. The shelves on the door fits all of our food stuffs. The interior shelves are plentiful for our needs. The freezer is more than sufficient for us. The interior is well lit. We love that the water dispenser is on the interior wall of the fridge. We did not want an exterior water dispenser. The only downside is that fingerprints are easily seen on the door. I make sure to wipe down the doors, when I clean the kitchen at night. If anything changes after the 'honeymoon' period, I'll amend my comments.

Great refrigerator!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This refrigerator is replacing another Kitchenaid refrigerator that served us admirably for 26 years. I do love the french door design and the bottom freezer. The cabinet depth is great. I don't think we'll be loosing things in the back like we used to. The adjustable shelves can be set up any way you like, and the door shelves really hold a lot. The only thing I liked better about the previous fridge was that the fruit and veggie drawers were on rollers instead of just slides, and the slides don't move as smoothly. A little silicone lube took care of that. This fridge is very quiet, and is keeping a perfectly steady temperature. So far, it's great!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am pleased with the space and ease of the counter depth Kitchen Aide French door fridge. The one slight negative is that some condensation gathers on the top of the freezer drawer.

Beautiful fridge, a little small 4.5 stars
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The design of the fridge is beautiful. I wanted a white fridge so it would blend in better with my white cabinets. My other appliances are stainless and because they are mostly hidden by the island, mixing the 2 colors works for me. The fridge is a little expensive for the cubic ft, and the freezer size is smaller because of the ice-maker, so that is why I give it 4.5 stars. The fridge section has very nice adjustable glass shelves, many door bins, including 2 oversize bins one on each door. So far no issues with it and I am very pleased with my purchase.

Excellent and functional
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My family and I love this fridge. We've had it for over 6 months and not one issue. The stainless finish is very easy to keep clean (especially with 3 young boys)! Love the fact that it's counter depth, and it fits nicely in our space. Plenty big for our needs.
