Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the 30" Gas Cooktop's ease of use, high-quality construction, and attractive design as significant advantages. Many appreciate the powerful downdraft feature, although some experienced challenges with the knobs and the stainless steel's susceptibility to scratches. The cooking performance receives positive feedback, but a few users mentioned issues with burner settings and the vent's impact on flame stability. Overall, the positive aspects of the cooktop outweigh the reported drawbacks for most users.

Nice Option
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As others have mentioned, there are not a lot of alternatives for a gas cooktop with a downdraft. After considerable review, I thought this was the best option. Unfortunately the measurements were not exact. The frame size fit perfect in my existing cutout however their measurements did not include the screws that stick out of the side by 1/4 inch. There are three on each side. I had to get a diamond bit drill and spent 6 hours drilling into granite to get this to fit. Please add 1/2 inch to the manufactures measurements or face the same consequences. Now, on to the functionality. Again as others have noted, the smallest burner at it’s lowest flame will still boil your contents. There is no option for simmer. The fan really only has one speed which is full on. Although not a big deal as the only time you really need it is when the wife burns something! :) We do love that the grills fit to create a solid and flat surface across the entire unit. No more wobbly pots and pans. It looks great and is easy to clean. The stainless does require extra love and attention to get it clean. Overall, it’s much nicer than our previous JennAir gas cooktop and if you get this on sale, it’s worthwhile. I hope this review helps someone out there. Good luck on your search.

Great cooktop, beautiful, quite easy to clean!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this cooktop to replace an old one of similar kind, and were amazed how much technology and design have evolved forward. There haven’t been any technical issues thus far. It cooks very well. Piezo ignition works like a charm. The downdraft is not a perfect technology to start with, but this works much better than our previous cooktop, and filter is easier for clean and more accessible. We would recommend thIs appliance to others with confidence.

Average cooktop, incomplete installation
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cooktop is attractive and works well. The downdraft seems strong, though is loud, even on the lowest setting. The stainless steel is more difficult to keep clean than the black cooktop I replaced. I purchased Best Buy installation and they only installed the gas line, not the downdraft vent. I had to hire an HVAC company to later connect the vent, which was a surprise. Also, Best Buy's installer did not attach the cooktop to my counter, so it moves around and I need to hire a handyman to secure it. Overall, the cooktop is average — not much to rave nor complain about. But Best Buy's installation was not worth it, do not recommend.

Downdraft Cooktop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product integrating the downdraft into the body of the cook top. Fairly easy installation to the existing structure, however, not enough room on either side of the bottom to use the installation screws to attach to the counter top.

We could not be happier with this cooktop!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was painless to install and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Kitchen looks better with it in. Cooks fantastically. Stainless finish is easy to clean. It looks so pretty though that I am spending more time cleaning to keep it spotless.

Surprised and pleased
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to replace a failing modular cooktop, and practically was stuck with built in downdraft. I was trying to get rid of it but there isn’t even room for the pop up version in the back. Got this (ok it’s one of 2 options that are nearly identical except for knobs and a year of warranty) and with the design changes, it actually works quite well, far better and less noisy than the prior unit. There is less flame pull than I’m used to from the downdraft, and the burners have a great range from a coverable gentle heat to an insane 17k boiler. Took a little getting used to when I’m used to having to fake these settings on the old top. I am pleasantly surprised, particularly when it looks honestly a little underwhelming on display. Installed, it is quite nice and easy to clean. Probably unfair to be sitting among all of the 36” specialty cooktops, but I digress. I like the side arrangement of controls as that allows true continuity of grates and great spacing for just 30in.

Replaced a 30" JENN AIR Cooktop with Downdraft
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was never pleased with the Jenn Air cooktop's downdraft system that we purchased about ten years ago.because Although it was supposed to have a three speed motor, it operated like a one speed wind tunnel. The KitchenAid fit in the same slot perfectly and to my surprise is a much finer tuned machine. The burner options are a lot more pragmatic and the sound of the downdraft and flame pull is noticeably less. I was surprised that there was an additional burner cover for warming butter included with this cooktop. The burners seem to operate more efficiently and looks much better overall even though the Jenn Air model costs more--Go figure!

Good Cooktop, Good Support
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed a new cooktop. One that wouldn't require a cabinet/vent change. So we opted to run the gas line and go with the KitchenAid with downdraft. After a couple of missteps getting the cooktop, its installed and works great. We are learning how to handle the temps and cook with it. Our issues stem from the third party they use to install. We scheduled our first appt. and the guy showed. Without the cooktop.....Then he was kinda short with me about. " I ASKED YOU IF YOU HAD THE COOKTOP!!!" Whoa....calm down. He left and lucky i called back to BestBuy. After a bunch of running around ours finally arrived about 3 weeks later. When the guy came to install it, he told me that we needed a special piece of ducting and that was an extra $20. "I don't have cash, no worries just Venmo to me". So I felt held up for an extra $25. I will say their team got on the ball, when it didnt arrive and tracked it down. Shaun called when he said he would and Andre did it right. GO with local help, call the store you bought it at and NOT the 800 Geek Squad number.

Best Gas Cooktop EVER!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My new cooktop is very well made. I LOVE the 3 fan speeds and the different sized burners for different heating levels. Just being able to find a gas cooktop with a down draft was VERY difficult this year so I am thrilled to be able to finally cook again on my gorgeous new cooktop.

Great upgrade!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great upgrade to an older poorly designed GE product. Not many options with 30" downdraft cooktops but we're really happy with this purchase. Looks great, works great, and easy to clean.

Nice cooktop but easily scratches
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed a replacement cooktop in our island to replace a very old one. There were not many choices and all were very expensive. The reviews on this one were 3-4 stars so I went with KitchenAid. As far as functionality, the cooktop works flawlessly. We rarely use the fan since we don't cook a lot of food that creates a lot of smoke but when I did use it, it seemed to work well. The stainless steel is nice but wow does it scratch easily. You really have to be careful even lifting off the grates. So we just live with the scratches because what other alternatives are there? If you're real careful, you may not scratch it too much but just be aware that you will most likely see them and wonder "how the heck did it get scratched?".

Downdraft Par Excellence
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Look it, we all know that we have limited choices for a 30" downdraft cooktop. But JennAir/KitchenAid nailed it with this model. We've had Jenn Air for 31 years in our house and when it became time to replace it, this was it. Stainless matches our other appliances. Super down draft capabilities that is now more than off/on but multiple levels of smoke extraction. Choice of BTU burners and including an additional top cap for you small BTU burner that solves gas cooking's only problem: simmering. Diffuses the smaller flame so that the sauce you need to simmer doesn't burn. Quick lighting. Did I say power down draft? Does what no cooking hood can do, that's keeping the smells and smokes out of your kitchen.

gas stove
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disapointed there is no lights to indicate if a burner is on. When gas is turned low, minimal flame showing, it is hard to tell VISUALLY if the stove is on or off. An indicator light would be ideal. Especially when finished in the kitchen, the light would help to make sure the unit is completely off

Great salesman, Great appliances! Best Buy is BEST
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a JennAir cooktop that was installed in the house when it was built in 2009. It served me well, but the burners wouldn't light and I had it serviced twice. It was difficult to keep clean as well. I got my new KitchenAid cooktop from Best Buy and I absolutely LOVE it! It is amazing! I love the stainless. It is easy to maintain. The knobs took some getting used to because they turn counterclockwise to turn on! I would recommend it to anyone. I bought it sight unseen, and I have no regrets. Tim Stolte helped me to decide which appliances would be best for me. He was so very helpful! I will definitelly look him up if I need anymore!

Good Quality; Works as described
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When you need to replace a downdraft cooktop, there are not many options and sadly all are very pricey. We had few choices but landed on this model. It works well and is attractive. Just wish the price was more reasonable.

Works well as designed
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Burners work great. Sleek look. I know there have been complaints about the fan and how it may suck in the flames, but we have not experienced that. Maybe they made an adjustment in the production. But item works just as it should. Easier to clean than the "glass" cooktops.

Great cooktop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this cooktop! Looks great and works great. I like that there are only 2 grates to clean. I also like the different size burners. The downdraft is powerful and quiet (unlike the one it replaced!).
