This is just what I was looking for! The vent is hidden when not in use, not noisy, and lights work great. I like that when I have it set on 2 and push the cover back that the setting is kept when you pull the cover out again. I will say that the controls would be difficult to use if I was any shorter. You have to pull the cover out, then select your air draw reaching over the cover. For the petite person this would be difficult to set--a remote would be needed.

The range hood itself is beautiful. Once it is installed, you can barely even tell that it is there. Comparing it to other under the cabinet hoods, it only comes down an inch under the cabinet. In return though, a lot of the components and box for the hood are located in the cabinet. Expect to sacrifice the cabinet above as it does take up a bit of space. In addition be cautious with how much room you have between the top of the hood and your external venting source. I had approximately 4-6 inches of height to try and move the 6" vent over 4 inches to the external vent in my ceiling. It ended up working, but it did take a little work.

We just installed this and have not had a chance to use the fan to see how well it exhausts. We are using at a recirculating fan above our matching kitchenaid range. I will uspdate once I see how well the suction is. As for the lights, they are very bright and light up the cooking surface well.

I replaced my ge hood with this one. It is very elegant and does an amazing job of getting rid of the food smells.

Like easy clean and design detail with the aluminum.
