Only worked for 1 year!

Just as we were over the year warranty, it started acting up. It randomly would quit cooking and make a beeping noise and the breaker would need to be turned off to reset the cooktop. Gradually it started happening every time we cooked something before we could even get water to a boil. Now it is completely not functional. Had someone out to repair from BestBuy who said both motherboards need to be replaced at >$1000.00 cost. Called KitchenAid and they agreed to extend the warranty but after multiple calls to them to try to get the service set up they are acting like no one ever told me that and now telling me it is out of warranty. So basically, this expensive appliance is only guaranteed to work for 1 year. I would highly recommend you buy ANYTHING else other than this KitchenAid piece of junk. We are now cooking with a single hot plate that is sitting on top of this expensive piece of junk.
