This Kitchenaid cooktop was probably the best looking one we saw, it's made in America, and seems to be made well. Grates are heavy duty and are flat across all the burner so you can slide pan to different burners. It was shipped without burner caps but Kitchenaid sent them out quickly. So far we are very satisfied with this cooktop

I may have just gotten a defective one. I had an appliance person from kitchenaid come look at it and he said he will find out if the grills are supposed to fit better but he never came back or call, i gave up. Sad

Broke in 3 months - Warranty service outrageous
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.While the cooktop is attractive and worked well when it was functioning. In just 3 months, it blew the circuit, flashed red under the glass and started smoking. Because it is still under warranty we had to deal with KitchenAid Call center who could only offer us a service appointment for 1 week away so we are without a cooktop until at least then. They claim there are only 2 authorized repair centers in entire DC metropolitan area. Evidently there must be major issues with their products if there service centers are so busy they cannot get out here for one week.
