Confusing and weird Stainless Steel Texture

The only confusing concern I have is the texture of the stainless steel. Every time I try to clean it, no matter what type of rag I use (whether soft, or lint free) it's like it sticks to the stainless steel and leave behind lint? Does that make sense. Only reason I gave it 4 starts.

Beautiful Cooktop

The old one was so much hotter. You had to really watch or you would burn everything. This one is the opposite. The grate sits higher and it seems to take forever to boil water. I am getting used to the slower cook time. It is a beautiful cooktop and I am not having issues keeping it clean.
