What’s Good 1. Big Capacity, Heavy Duty Mixing The 7-quart bowl is large: in real tests people have used it to make ~13 dozen cookies, knead over 8.5 lbs of bread dough, or mash 7.5 lbs of potatoes in one go.  This means less batch dividing, which saves time. If you often bake for large groups or double/triple recipes, that’s a major plus.  2. Sturdiness & Stability Because it’s a bowl-lift design (versus a tilt-head), it locks the bowl more solidly in place, which helps with heavy doughs. The unit is heavy (so it doesn’t wander or vibrate much under load).  3. Power and Versatility It has a powerful motor, capable of handling demanding tasks (kneading, whipping, etc.) without overheating. It also offers an expanded speed range, including a half-speed (“½ speed”) for more delicate work (folding in ingredients, egg whites, etc.). I've used this a half dozen times now and it works great for everything from whipping heavy cream, to cutting butter into flour, to kneading a heavy dry bread dough. It's quiet and very stable during all the above. It's even easy to wipe clean. I even got it on sale, making it a great value. I did a lot of research before purchasing it because my previous mixer lacked the power to ones bread dough. I am very happy with this appliance.

Though this size is best for large batches, it works really well. My wife is in love. It's beefy and all the parts feel top quality, and the dark blue color looks great and is a nice change from all the black and silver in the kitchen. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love KitchenAid and this stand mixer is my favorite! I love the Navy color which I was not able to find anywhere else. I bake a lot and push my mixers pretty hard. I had the same model I purchased about 5 years ago and the motor started to struggle a lot more on certain bread doughs. I purchased this as a backup for when the motor finally went on my other one but I find myself using this more often. The lowest setting is definitely slower than my original one, which is perfect for me because it doesn't kick up flour when I have to add a significant amount in at once. It also powers through most of the doughs I make. Overall, this is a great mixer, it lasts for quite a while even with regular use, and even the attachments are well made. I would definitely recommend this over any other mixer.

Great mixer! I had the Artisan model and this one has bigger bowl and more powerful motor. Love the color too, looks great in my kitchen! Price was excellent too!

This is a robust, nice looking mixer! The bowl seats well into position, it takes some force but then you know it's secure. It's quiet and operates smoothly. Overall it's a great mixer.

Arrived quickly and in good condition although the polystyrene was a bit broken up and had to be cleaned off of the machine. It works well and I've been baking plenty of bread with it since it arrived!

A beautiful mixer, perfect for someone who bakes a lot! Easy to use, a deep bowl easily allows for double recipes. The color, Black Matte is perfect, with less visible fingerprints. So glad to have replaced my old mixer. Looking forward to ordering the available attachments.

This mixer is slightly larger than the one that doesn’t have the bowl lift but the bowl lift actually seems to be a more sturdy feature. There are 11 mixing speeds which is really nice for everything from my making pizza dough to whipped cream. It’s the perfect appliance when you need an extra hand or two in the kitchen but also just enjoy being in the kitchen working alone. I love how KitchenAid makes different colors and designs to fit not only the need in the kitchen but also the aesthetic. The matte black and stainless look fits right into my kitchen. It came with three accessories and recipes already but I have ordered a few more and learned how to use them with the easy instructions and recipes that come with each item. This mixer does have less options for changing out the bowl because of the way you sit the bowl in place. There are two holes in either side of the bowl which fit over two studs and behind the bowl it clips in also. (This creates the stability I mentioned previously). I know some people like the ability to change out the bowls or have multiple on hand so definitely keep this in mind if you are that person. I personally recommend this product if you are the one hosting large holiday meals and the smaller version just won’t cut it. You can make small batches still but the extra quart with this one compared to the smaller one is definitely a plus for me because of the larger meals I cook a few times a year.

I’ve been wanting a Kitchen Aid (larger than 3 qts) for years so I could make my mom’s monster cookies for my daughter’s. It popped into my head to check the price after dropping my girls off at their moms for Mother’s Day and was shocked when I saw it $150 off. I immediately purchased it and it was delivered very quickly (2 days later) but unfortunately had to wait until the weekend for the cookies. It powered through the full 5.5 quart bowl of very thick cookie dough and never broke a sweat! We had enough cookies for all 3 daughters to bring some to school and for me to bring enough into work to be ridiculed (jokingly) by my coworkers and earn the nickname “Betty “F^%#ing” Crocker”! Lol

It saved my arm, my daughter and I made 34 boxes of Christmas cookies. All different kinds and without this machine, we would’ve been so sore. Highly recommend. It works amazing.
