Like our new kitchen aid dishwasher very much. Sleek design, priced competively, very quiet and does a great job overall. We have continued to purchase & use the rinse aid liquid and cascade platinum pods that were original samples and recommended. A little more pricey but well worth it as everything comes out clean and no spots whatsoever. We were without a dishwasher for quite a few years and are very happy with this product. Thus far in our 5 months we haven't really used the 3rd upper rack much - so that could easily be eliminated or opted out at purchase. Also, Best Buy was great to work with. I did phone pricing with several suppliers, Best Buy price matched, I placed the order via phone with our local store and delivery went off without a hitch in less than a week (had to come from a warehouse in another city). My husband did the installation himself. We had the old one out and the delivery truck hauled it away. Definitely recommend this particular product and also Best Buy. Great customer service as always.

This dishwasher is very quiet. I turned it on while we were eating dinner and thought it didn't turned on and opened it. And pleasantly surprised that it's just that quiet. Cleans great. It is not a magic bullet. If you don't preclean some food, you still see that a little after it has been finished. I usually prewash them real quick so it looks sparkling clean all the time. I like the fact that it comes out dry. I use jetdry liquid as well. They work well together.

Had a Samsung for 3 years. The control panel on that took a dive and it stopped working. Over the three years, the dishes never came out real clean and still had to hand dry. Purchased the Kitchen Aid...it is awesome. Sparkling clean dishes, like the way the old ones used to be. Unbelievable that I am excited that the dishes are actually dry. The third rack is awesome too....It's very quite..I can't hear the machine, just the water jets.

Best Buy replaced our Whirlpool Gold series dishwasher (Consumer Reports top machine 3 years ago) because they could not fix the loud noise, which I still find baffling! We chose the Kitchen Aid over the Bosch for many reasons. Size and heat drying were the deciders. The interior capacity is ok, not great. The utensil basket is very large and takes up a lot of space. We are using an basket from a previous unit. The third rack is useless and we have removed one of the basket trays so we can fit our glasses on the top rack. This will make sense when you see the unit. The Kitchen Aid is quiet, but you know when it is running. It cleans well if you load it correctly. I really miss the Whirlpool and would have replaced it with another Whirlpool but the newer model was not available in white. If I was not locked into a service agreement with Best Buy, I would have purchased a Kenmore Elite from Sears. If you are willing to pay $800 for this model, then consider spending $900 for the Kenmore Elite.

Overall a very good dishwasher. The dishes come out very clean and the racks are designed to allow efficient loading; the third rack is convenient for spatulas or other thin items. The only downside is the cycle time. Almost three hours to run a complete cycle on normal setting.

This dishwasher washes very well. Easy to load. I think the bottom rack goes off track easily. I think the stainless really fingerprints a lot. I had an different brand stainless before this one, and it was not nearly as bad. Reasonable price. I like the 3 upper rack. It seems to be useful.

I love the ease of use of this dishwasher. I had a GE before, and it did not clean dishes and was very noisy. My new KitchenAid is quiet, easy to use, and looks sleek. The dishes have been coming out spotless.

I have had is dishwasher for about a month now. It's very quiet and cleans wonderfully. I've learned the different cycles the hard way - 4-5 hours for the pro wash cycle doesn't help with the holiday cooking mess! However, the express wash cycles works perfect with a time crunch. I have never fit so many dishes in a dishwasher before. The third rack is perfect for bottle pieces and sippy cups (highly useful for anybody with little kids). I love that the top rack has adjustable height. I had one dish not get fully clean over the last month - I blame my husband. It had caked on chili on the inside and was not rinsed before putting in the dishwasher. In reality, that dish needed to soak for a little bit first. Absolutely a high quality product!

Great but long run times and upper rack is useless

Great dishwasher but as many of the other reviews pointed out, the upper rack is useless. It may be worthwhile spending a little less on the model without the third upper rack but since I have not used that one, I can not give a recommendation on it. The upper rack gets in the way of the middle rack when tall glasses are put in it (nothing out of the ordinary tall by the way), so you need to lower the middle rack. Once the middle rack is lowered, the spray head gets in the way of regular sized dishes in the bottom rack. Thankfully the upper rack can be removed fairly easily. The run time is also a lot longer than we are used to. It seems to take almost 4 hours to run a normal cycle so some planning is needed if you need clean dishes. Other than that, the build quality seems great and it cleans very well. One note is that the actual dimensions of the unit run a bit larger than our old one, so while it fit in the standard opening, it stuck out a tiny bit more than our old dishwasher. You may want to check the fitment with your opening before purchasing.

We love our new dishwasher, I can barely hear it when it is on and the dishes come out sparkling clean and smell good. My only complaint is that the cycle takes a long time, but then, we do use the heated dry.

Originally we purchased a Samsung dishwasher. After a few weeks of not being happy with our selection we went back to the store and explained how we felt about our purchase. They were more than accomodating to replace our Samsung dishwasher with a KitchenAid dishwasher. It truely works great. Everything comes out clean and dry.

I have only had this machine for about 2 weeks, but so far so good. It gets things clean. It runs quietly. The only maddening thing, but it's not unique to this machine, is that the new normal for energy efficiency is that the darn cycle lasts freakin' forEVER!! No more just popping the dishes in for a quick wash prior to company coming over.

    Excellent Dishwasher

In looking for a dishwasher we had four criteria: reliability, quietness, loading versatility, and cleaning ability, although since we mostly pre-wash the last was a lesser concern. At first we were drawn to a brand or two with multiple adjustable rack systems, but when we tried some of our own bowls (yes, we took a couple of bowls with us when shopping!), they actually fit best in the KitchenAid. It also had less complaints about reliability issues in the reviews we read, so that made our decision. We haven't regretted it. The first run, in which the unit is making several self-adjustments, was a bit noisier than we were expecting, but since then it has been extremely quiet. That is a welcome improvement in our open floor plan house. The third (upper) rack has limited usefulness. You can rotate the plastic trays in it 90 degrees which makes them a bit lower, thus enabling them to hold more. However, if you do, you must lower the middle rack, and then there is not enough room for full size plates on the bottom rack. We nonetheless like the top rack for plastic utensils. Newer dishwashers (and washing machines) consistently use less water and more time; it is no big deal. We have had no drying or spotting issues. We do used a rinse aid as recommended. Since we've only had the unit a month we cannot speak to its reliability, but at this point we would highly recommended it.

    Third top shelf is annoying

I was really excited about this dishwasher for one because it is a Kitchen Aide and had such great reviews. It does wash very well. it is so quiet you hardly know it is on. I have put pretty dirty dishes in it and this dishwasher does an excellent job. I was very happy to get the one with that cool top 3rd shelf for knives etc. It actually has turned out to be kind of annoying though. When I put my glasses on the glass shelf they sometimes bump into that top third shelf because of their longer stems. When I lower the glass shelf down so that does not happen, then I cannot fit my plates on the shelf below. ARGH, oh well.

My Kitchenaide dishwasher is so quiet I forget that it is on. While it runs longer than previous dishwashers I've owned, the dishes are usually sparkling clean and ready for use. This is the second unit of this type that I've purchased so you know I'm sincere when I say," I really am sold on this unit."

At first I did not like it as the detergent packet did not disolve but ended up in the bottom of the dishwasher with the dishes dirty. You have to watch not to put things in front of the detergent door that blocks it from opening!!! Since then I have found that it will take off really tough dried on food. Love the 3rd rack. It is quiet and I am glad that it uses hot water to rinse and heat to dry. The glasses really sparkle with the rinse solution that I use. No spotting.

This kitchen aid dishwasher is amazing. It's so quiet. I can barely hear it whenever it's on. The cycles for washing take a long time, but make my dishes spotless. The Best Buy delivery man recommended soap pods for the dishwasher and I've found that those do work the best.

I'd read some reviews saying something like you couldn't hear it running unless you put your ear up next to it. It's not that quiet, but compared to an older model dishwasher our new dishwasher is much quieter. The upper 3rd rack is an OK place to put some of our long utensils like spatulas, but we can't put all of our flatware up there and then remove the other utensil rack. It cleans well and dries well enough - a little water doesn't bother me much. My biggest complaint is that for a couple that only runs the dishwasher once or twice a week, the washer seals so tightly when closed in between runs that the moisture in the unit develops a swampy smell. It goes away when run or left propped slightly open.

When we remodeled our kitchen on a budget, I skimped on the dishwasher because I tend to thoroughly rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher anyways. Skimping was my mistake. I hated that cheap dishwasher that never got hot enough to feel like the dishes were clean and that never dried the dishes. I had to upgrade. I went with this Kitchenaid after thoroughly researching all options. I love it! I don't have to rinse before putting dishes in and the dishes come out hot to the touch, sparkly clean, and dry. I especially like the very top rack for larger utensils and tops to water bottles and travel coffee cups.

Pretty easy to install. Lots of room for dishes. Cleans well. Quite to the point you don't even know it's running. All th he control buttons are concealed when door is closed so you really don't know what is going on with it's cycles. This is the only negative thing that I can point out.
