My wife and I selected this KitchenAid dishwasher for three reasons: 1. To clean the dishes (isn't this why everyone buys a dishwasher? # 2. It matched our refrigerator and 3. best value: price/quality/look/dependability. We looked at several other brands: Bosch, LG, GE, Electrolux, Frigidaire; but kept coming back to this KitchenAid model. We knew we wanted the stainless steel tub, for quietness and drying. We knew we wanted a dishwasher that ran quietly, our old dishwasher was very loud, and, of course, we wanted a dishwasher that would clean the dishes. Customer reviews from the Best Buy web site and several other sites were very helpful and did help to influence our decision so we are adding our review. We have now had this dishwasher for a week and have had no complaints at all with its performance. The installation was simple but I have installed dishwashers before and the experience did help. The installation instructions do leave a lot to be desired. For someone not experienced with installation this could be an issue. The dishwasher does clean the dishes well; a big plus, once again, isn't that why everyone buys a dishwasher? This unit does run VERY quiet, don't even know it's running if you're not right in front of it. The only negative I have come across with this dishwaser so far is the adjustable top rack. It's not easily adjusted and top top rack is not the strongest. This is omething I knew before I bought the unit #I did test the adjustment in the store and did not like, the same was also mentioned in another review I read, but I thought aboiut how many times I would adjust the top rack [not many] and decided it wasn't that critical) The one thing I wish this unit did have, and it is available on more expensive models, I just didn't want it enough to pay more for it, is steam cleaning. I'll probably not miss it though, seems to clean well enough without it. It's only been a week, far too soon to know how good this dishwasher really is but so far we're very pleased. If that changes, a new review will be written but so far we're pleased.

This product is only worth it if you need to save money. It's worth the couple extra 100 for the higher models. Wish I had a quieter machine, with more flexible racks inside and better ability to dry dishes.

We needed to replace our 8 year old KitchenAid dishwasher because of the plastic control panel. I really wanted a KitchenAid because our old one cleaned very well. we saw one but the price was out of our range $850. My criteria was: stainless tub, stainless front, garbage disposer, silver basket NOT in the door. We actually bought a Samsung because of the price and luckily the date of the installation was messed up. We went to best buy planning on cancelling the order. We noticed that the KitchenAid was on sale and they were able to move up the install date.....SOLD. Installation was maybe 20 min. It is very quiet, cleans very very well and we are very happy. We scrape our dishes, rinse when necessary. Follow the manufacturer directions and ALL is good.

After a great deal of research and shopping, I bought this machine to replace a 12-year-old Kitchenaid that was leaking. Now I wish I had explored repairing my old machine. What I miss: covered compartments for small items; fold-down areas for large items; racks that are well-designed and easily slide in and out (but do not come all the way out if pulled too hard); a control/handle area that shows what point in the wash cycle I'm at - and that doesn't need to be wiped down every time someone touches it; a door that isn't too heavy for me to open; the ability to put dirty dishes in and have them come out clean. I actually had a service call from Kitchen-aid because I could not believe the machine had been properly installed. It was. Turns out I need to go back to practically pre-washing the dishes and then arrange them very carefully so that the reduced power flow of this energy-efficient unit will hit everywhere. The only good thing about this unit is that it's quiet. This is the first review I have ever written. I hope people will find it helpful.

I'm by no means an expert on dishwashers; with that said, I think this is a good one. We originally wanted to buy Samsung; we recently replaced our refrigerator, and over-the-range microwave with Samsung, and really like them. So when our dishwasher failed and needed to be replaced we naturally wanted to stay with the same brand; but after reading the negative reviews of the Samsung dishwashers, we decided to look at other brands. Kitchen Aid and Bosch seemed to be the two brands that reviewers are happiest with, and we choose this Kitchen-Aid because we thought it would match our Samsung appliances better, it was on sale (25% off), and in stock at our local Best Buy Store. We purchased the dishwasher over Presidents Day weekend, when all of the appliance retailers had sales. Best Buy's sales prices were much cheaper than any of the others, on all of the products we looked at. We had the same experience when we purchased our refrigerator and microwave from Best Buy, so kudos to Best Buy for there extremely competitive pricing on appliances. I picked up and installed the dishwasher myself, everything went very smooth, and I know it was done right. It holds a lot more dishes than our previous dishwasher, and is relatively quiet (about the same as the Maytag we replaced that was also a "quiet" model). It seems to clean very well, we washed one load of dishes that we pre-rinsed and another without rinsing and both loads came out very clean, dry and spot free (using the Jet Dry sample that was included with the machine). Overall we are very happy with the purchase, but this dishwasher does fall short on features; both when comparing to other brands in the same price range and compared to our old dishwasher. We knew this when we purchased it, but felt that the features were not as important as it's ability to clean and it's reputation for quality. So we decided we could live without all the options. Sometimes less is more. I deducted one star for the light options/feature set.

I replaced an old, low-end dishwasher recently. We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet this product is and how well it cleans. We had gotten used to shoddy performance and this is far from that. I wish it had stemware holders and curved racks in the bottom for bowls; that would make it easier to load well. But, overall, we are very pleased with this dishwasher. I thought I would miss the delay wash feature but my daughter pointed out that we used that to avoid being in the vicinity of the old one while it was running but this is so quiet that is no longer a problem.

I was a little worried at first with some of the bad reviews, but so far after about 6 months we are very pleased with our purchase. Love the stainless tub, dishes come out sparkling and dry, and VERY quiet! We typically rinse our dishes well before loading, so I can't speak to how well it cleans really dirty dishes. The racks seem a little flimsy, but we try and even out the weight when loading. Especially on the top, don't load up the front first. No issues to speak of so far..... We got a good deal @ $619.99 after price matching...

    Great for our family's dishes--racks/size

We bought this dishwasher after having trouble with the Bosch Ascenta dishwasher. I am happy to say we are so far very happy with this dishwasher. It is louder than the Bosch, but not that much. The rack configuration is much better for us. Rather than having angled racks that assume plates only will be cleaned, the Kitchen Aid (KA) has vertical racks so you can put in all sorts of dishes like glass baking dishes (9 x 13, pie pans, brownie pans) or ramekins, or traditional (not shallow) bowls. The top rack is set up well for lots of little cups and bowls (think IKEA) and also accommodates our drinking cups (plastic) and my travel mug (which didn't fit in the Bosch). The overall interior is also bigger than the Bosch. My only negative comment on this is that because I am not used to having the control panel on the top of the door I occasionally will press a button by accident. I am going to have to get used to that part. I like how the door lays flat to allow you to roll the rack out for unloading. Originally we passed up this dishwasher because of price, but considering the frustration I had after only a week with the Bosch, we ended up returning the Bosch and getting this one, and I am glad. I think long term this dishwasher will meet the needs of our family. I encourage you if you are looking at dishwashers to consider carefully the rack configuration and size of the interior before buying. We found this tricky given the display area in our store but it can be done, and it may have saved us trouble if we had examined the units more closely before buying.

First off, we got this on clearance through the Saint Petersburg store, so that was awesome. We are in a new home and are slowly replacing all of the "builder grade" garbage. The dishwasher was HIGH on that list. Let me start by saying that this DW is VERY good looking. Stainless steel is beautiful and it blends well with my Samsung appliances. For DW, Kitchenaid is hands down the best in my book. Delivery/installation was seamless but first unit leaked so they sent out another one right away. Easy to load and adjust racks as needed. Easy to use control pane (no delay start but I did not care about that). I only use the "rinse" and "normal" cycles. Nothing else needed. Huge interior will accommodate pretty much anything and yet handles a wine glass with care. Vents out the side of door which is great as it does not heat up the counter above it. Running lights are all blue, then a green light pops up when cycle is complete. Yes the lights are on top of the door, but if the DW is installed properly for the side venting, you will see the glow of the lights. If you add a dish all you need to do is hit the start/resume button and it will continue. It has a lot of spray power so when you open the door during active wash cycles, be prepared! A beep will indicate that the cycle is complete. That beep is pretty much the only sound I can hear when it is running. Sometimes I can hear the draining in the sink pipes but nothing much really. The way these homes are all open concept, quiet is a must. I added the JetDri as I usually do. When opened the DW the dishes were clean, dry and no spots. What more can you ask for??

I was looking for a stainless steel dishwasher to match everything else and read hundreds of reviews on different brands. I finally decided on this one and actually when I went to the store to order received a better price than published. I was thrilled... Everyone from the delivery guys to the installer were great! Dishwasher is quiet and cleans well....I just had to familiarize myself with all the new buttons!! My old dishwasher was really old! I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone!!!

We've only had our dishwasher for a week but we love it! My husband installed it himself and only took about an hour. We were upgrading from a ten yr old dishwasher and really wanted a quiet, efficient, stainless model. Consumer reports gave all the kitchenAid dishwashers very good ratings so when we saw this one on sale at the store we thought it was a great buy. It is VERY quiet, sometimes having to put your ear up to it to hear if it is running and it has a large area to put your dishes. We went from constantly having to run the dishwasher because it was full, to not being able to fill it! The specs on here say it doesn't have adjustable racks but it does. I do wish that it had delayed and china cycle but seeing the difference in price for a model with those I decided it wasn't worth it! We've been very pleased with our purchase!

I have owned this dishwasher about 2 months and run it at least every other day. I researched all the reviews on Best Buy's website and discovered that Kitchen Aid got the best reviews. We bought this "open box" and got a nice discount, but even without the discount, it's a great dishwasher. It's quiet, cleans well and is beautiful in my kitchen. I especially love the top rack being adjustable. I have some things that are fairly large but are "top rack only" and this accommodates them nicely. I highly recommend it!

We had an old Whirlpool dishwasher and it needed to retire. We decided to get Kitchenaid for the brandname. I was quite hesitant at first because, there are sooo many brands to choose from. Our choices were Bosch, Samsung and this one, and I am so glad we got this. It's so quiet, spacious, dishes were clean and sparkly! Would recommend to everybody. It's worth the price! The techs who installed it were in and out in 20 minutes. Very professional and polite, good job guys!

I've had the dishwasher for a solid week. The Best Buy installation reps were amazing. They were 10 minutes early and done in a half hour! My last dishwasher was 12 years old and had stopped cleaning well. It was a quiet spectra GE and was surprisingly quiet for its age. But I knew it was time to replace. I was torn between the Bosch and Kitchenaid. My mother has a Bosch but I was still nervous about the differences in the drying and the food particles. I knew I wanted stainless because the last I had was white and no matter how you clean it, it looks grimy. Yes, the stainless shows prints but it can look sparkly clean (and it will match my frig). Why did I choose the Kitchenaid? I saw the Bosch next to the Kitchenaid in a store while I was traveling and was sold. The kitchenaid was considerably larger. I am in a townhouse and cook for 1-2 but hate hand washing. This washer holds more than my last including my large dishes. I knew the top rack was shaky when I went to purchase. That was my only hesitation. It did not need to be adjustable because my large large dishes fit just fine. I got a great price so I spent the extra money and added a 2 year warranty. I would have purchased the step up if it wasn't a townhouse and plan to leave the dishwasher in a couple years. I tested the dishwasher with a grimy dog bowl (NOT prewashed) and it passed my expectations. Quietness: The quiet factor was a huge selling point of the Bosch but I was convinced that any dishwasher today would be quieter than my last. I am NOT sure this is much quieter but it certainly isn't loud enough for me to be disappointed. Overall it is good for the price. If you can find a deal, you may want to get the next model up. But this is exactly what I expected and I am pleased!

I love Kitchen Aid appliances and this one is really nice. It matches all other stainless appliances and is super quiet. The top shelf holds tall items, the bottom holds large and tall items as well. Everything cleans up great but I have to say the inside walls and door are fairly damp when the cycle is over, I find a few of the glasses still have a bit of water on them and I do use Jet Dry. Otherwise, everything does get clean and the glassware is not streaked. I can't say much about the features as I just stick to the basic washing cycle.

We purchased this dishwasher to replace our ASKO dishwasher. We came to the store planning to purchase a $1000 Bosch dishwasher. We were talked into this KitchenAid. The salesman thought the "quietness" would be similar, and the filtration system was superior. I also felt the door opened better - and I preferred the rack system of the KitchenAid. We also got a discounted installation through Best Buy. The installation was incredibly lousy. I would not do this through Best Buy again. He spent most of the day trying to install it. He was unable to install it with the foam wrap that serves as insulation. I also noticed (after the installer left), the piece which slides under the unit, to help with the noise, wasn't installed either. I ended up paying for a plumber to come out and fix this (the return hose also wasn't installed correctly). Best Buy wouldn't reimburse me for the labor. After a week, the latch wasn't working right. A service tech came out and stuck a knife in the latch to remedy the issue. This fixed it for another week, before the problem came back. We had to have a new latch part ordered, and then installed. This was nearly a 3 week event before the dishwasher was working perfectly. The unit itself is great. It IS pretty quiet, but, I still don't think it's as quiet as a BOSCH. The buttons on the top of the door take awhile to get used to. It does a WONDERFUL job in cleaning. We are very satisfied with this aspect. I should also mention that within the first 30 days, the price of the unit dropped TWICE. I was able to come in both times to get my account adjusted. This savings probably covered my extra labor expenses. I'd definitely recommend this dishwasher, but, have a certified PLUMBER install it, and WATCH the price of the unit for the first 30 days.

A very good dishwasher. Have been using it for two months. Best Buy has great policy of satisfaction for 60 days--originally bought a Bosch, but the racks were too small to fit daily amount of dishes/cups and it did not have a heated dry cycle. Went back to Best Buy after a week and returned the Bosch for this Kitchen Aid. No extra charges (delivery/install) except for the price, but bought basically same price range. Very good customer service. This Kitchen Aid has built in disposal, heated wash and dry with easy to use controls and extra "frills" like sanitize wash, rinse only and 1-hr wash cycle. Great for family of five.
