Used this to make shakes (not smoothies with ice) Mixed even the hardest to mix protein drinks. I really cant wait for the holidays when I get into baking. very powerful, the blending cup was kinda a waste for me. I did not try to make iced smoothies with this. I am keeping the rubber guard on the blender so I do not use it. It did not degrade performance, so I suggest just leave it on.

However, there was an issue on BestBuy payment page: on their payment page I clicked on a link that offered $10 discount. Unfortunately, that link redirected me to another third-party website that I did not notice. It asked me to fill-up a form and put my credit card number as if I am filling-up BestBuy shipping address. In fact, it was not! It was a third-party company that charged my credit card for some dollars!!!! BestBuy must not allow a third-party company's offer on their payment page.
