The blender is great and works really good for smoothies. The only bad thing is that when you first turn it on the pressure makes the lid come loose

Put this to the test immediately by running the “crush ice” setting with half-moon cubes from my refrigerator’s ice maker. Blended to snow consistency in no time at all with no chunks left unblended. It’s been great for smoothies and traditional chile sauces as well. Thought I might not like the plastic pitcher, but it’s been fine so far. Easy to clean.

This blender did not disappoint at all. Simple to use with multiple modes. Very easy to clean and is dishwasher safe. Great Blender!

New and out of the box the blender leaked from the blade shaft assembly. Not a huge leak, but it would fling a little bit of the blender contents into the base of the blender and onto the base of the blender. Sometimes it would leak some oily black liquid, perhaps a lubricant of some sort on the shaft. It leaves it in a perfectly horizontal line as others have mentioned. Leak gets progressively worse the more you use blender.

I began to use the blender. It is every bit as good as the more expensive Smeg and other high priced blenders. The plastic pitcher is less likely to break than the glass and cleans up easily. Safety features have been added to prevent injury.

bad quality. plastic jar. blade got rusty heavy motor. judge decolored . lid is a joke, very difficult to clean

We're a very large athletic and health conscience family who use a blender with much frequency, concocting messy shakes on-the-go with powders and various ingredients crammed into the jar. The unit that's being replaced scattered thousands of shards of glass across our kitchen floor when one of our children accidently tipped it off the counter. Oh well, It was time for an upgrade after nearly two decades. As much as we use a blender it is important to us that we have a quality unit. Without reviews, but much shopping and comparison, I rightfully concluded that this KitchenAid blender is superior in both value and performance. It is one of the most thoughtfully well designed blenders ever constructed. Terrific ease of use, simple and very safe for our children to use. It's design is sealed very nicely to aid in clean-up and reduce bacteria growth as well as prevent leakage into the electrical components. It's powerful and expected to last another couple or more decades, regardless of our quite frequent use. The blade being built-in, eliminates the nasty and burdensome aspect of a detectable blade assembly with gaskets, etc. The blade drive is none-the-less part of this blender's well thought-out design, allowing for very easy connect and disconnect of the jar to base. The base is just as much par for the course with its clear acrylic that seems to be many more times durable than the glass jar which ended our previous blender's use. The caring craftsmanship extends to every facet of this blender. One such aspect is that the jar can be turned upside-down in the dishwasher without concern for trapping water, since that is addressed with drainage slots without compromising the structural integrity where it's need most. The built-in blasé at the jar's base cleans-up amazingly well and is a much welcomed convenience. The lid is constructed of a rubber type material that isn't too ridged or too soft and it seals nicely with a equally well designed funnel access in the center. The jar is larger than what's typically available, so serious users with a large number consumers, ought to appreciate getting more for our money. I'm certainly interested if there's a better blender available, but I'd be surprised after all our shopping, research & comparison. This unit is outstanding in all aspects, whether it be value, performance, design or use. The manufactures(KitchenAid) have taken the blender to a new level with this innovative craftsmanship and design. It's comforting that someone seemingly has finally listened to the consumers needs and offer something such as this blender. Clen-up is many more times improved with KithcenAid's KSB 1570SLBlender! If this blender has longevity, it'll surely be one of the best purchases we make for our family. FIVE STARS!!! ***** You'll love it. Life just got better.

I looked at many including the Ninja with 2 blades and it didn't do anything but this blender is great and the plastic cup is great. been using it for over eight months so far its going great.

Not being able to afford a vitamix. This does well as an all around good blender. Ordered this newer updated model for our daughter. Ours is several years old and still dependable.
