Amazing sound as long as you don't mind how large the speakers are.

Had considered these speakers for some time, when they reached Buy One Get One sale price I pulled the trigger. I marvel at how well they reproduce the subtle nuances of a solo violin to the thunderous report of bombs dropping in my home theater. I have since purchased two other Klipsch products, ( R-15M bookshelf speakers and R-12SW subwoofer) to compliment these speakers and replace aging speakers from my home theater system. I've come to the realization that I can do no wrong when buying a Klipsch product as they perform well beyond their price point. Fit and finish matches the performance of these noble speakers and I am confident that near future purchases of Klipsch speaker products will match the performance and visually appealing appearance that I appreciate. I got these on black friday for half off the regular price. Completed my surround sound system. Very happy with them.

Excellent highs and mids but for great sound add the 12” sub as well.

It's been 15 years since I've updated my stereo system. I'm not an audiophile but I do have a decent ear and wanted a system that would last me another 15 years. I was concerned spending what felt like a pretty significant amount of money. Based on price point, performance, reputation and a few other factors I did a 5.1 Klipsch Reference system with a Denon receiver. IT'S FANTASTIC!! I didn't realize how far behind my old system was. The equipment I'm coming from isn't a fair comparison. If you're upgrading from anything more than a few years old, or lower quality, it's so unlikely you'll be disappointed. I was concerned about versatility across music, movies, sports, etc. It handles of all of them wonderfully. So pleased with this purchase. I chose the 12" subwoofer over the 10" as I have a larger room and tall ceilings. If you listen to music the larger woofer is a great addition. Very glad I upgraded. I also did the 28" towers. I figured I could always reduce back the bass if it became too much but if the system lacked I would be swapping out speakers and that would get expensive. They're fantastic together. Towers would be great on their own but really come alive with the center channel and woofer. One downside is the speaker boxes are NOT scratch resistant. I set a cardboard box on the subwoofer and it has 2 big scratches down the top already.

Great speakers and if you can get during a sale for about $225 its a great value! My biggest complaint is that when on carpet its wobbly and doesn't support carpet spikes without modification. Would be 5 stars to me if it had better stability.

The speakers are loud. They sound really good with music or movies.

Nice dispersion. Great midbass. Midrange could be better. Bought them sight unseen without having listened to them first (which is very unlike me), because of a great sale ( buy one get one) and because I've always wanted a pair of Klipsch speakers. Not bad for the the price I paid ($225 each).

I am using the speakers with a vintage Heathkit stereo system. Even with the limited audio power of a vintage stereo (20 watts per channel), the speakers are plenty loud, smooth sounding and have lots of detail. They are comfortable when listening to jazz and classical with plenty of punch when listening to rock and roll. Vocals are extremely clean.

Great sound, nice looking and enough volume to fill the entire house.

These R 28 series have been around a few years and they are tried and tested. The newer Premium series offer a couple of new features including a redesigned tweeter. However these R 28's matched with the Reference Sub Woofer, Center Channel, and Surround speakers offer high fidelity sound at a moderate price. At the sale price I got; they are absolutely a BEST BUY.

Although big, they are beautiful. The bass and crisp sound is awesome.
