They are as big as my 6 year, weigh almost twice as much and can really fill a large room with crystal clear sound and thumping bass. If you are going to use these in a home theater you will need a sub. To really appreciate the sound you do have to pump up the volume which is fine with me but not so much for my wife. I picked these up at thanksgiving for $224 each and at that price they are worth every penny. They haven't surpassed my expectations hence only 4 stars. I rarely give 5 star reviews as there always room for improvement.

I bought these Klipsch floorstanding speakers on black friday, the best time to buy them because they are 50% off for thes, te 10" sub and the 5.2" bookshelf speakers. So far they have performed very well and i am very satisfied. I have them set up with a Bi-amp configuration on a Yamaha Aventage receiver with the Klipsch 10" sub and 5.25 inch bookshelves in the back. These speakers handle the bass really well, it hardly ever gets pushed over to the sub unless i am watching a very action packed movie. Music, i am a classic rock fan, sounds great as well.

I installed these speakers with a Harman-Kardon HK3770 and they give clear sound and comfortable and enough base even without a subwoofer. Also they have nice looking as a living room interior. Good price from thanksgiving discount!

I have tried all manner of sounds to test this amazing system. Bass heavy edm. Action movies. Richard cheese. Ac-Dc. Disturbed. Classical Bach. Slipknot. Time and time again I am amazed at the little sounds I was missing. Two floor standing, 4 bookshelf, and the 300 watt sub. Connected to a Sony str dh750. There's always something more expensive, but I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. One by one I will be rewatching my entire collection.

Incredible audio reproduction!

These are the very best speakers you can get for this money.
These are strong speakers that can handle pure power. But they don't need high volume to sound good. The audio response is incredible.
You will hear sounds and instruments you have never heard in your favorite recordings. Incredible reproduction at all volume levels.
And can these speakers fill the room when you crank it up.
I have them connected to my Harmon Kardon and I have the bookshelf reference speakers for the rear surround as well as center and sub-woofer. In this set up they are great theater surround speakers.
But I don't think most people appreciate true stereo reproduction until they hear it through speakers like this. Music is recorded differently. Usually the finished stereo sound is recorded in two tracks. There may be several recordings laid over on each track, but stereo is designed to be played through two speakers. And this is where these speakers truly shine.
Listen to a classical recording. "Ludwig Van" and Dvorak. You will hear cymbals, woodwinds and slight nuances that you have never heard before.
A triangle on Santana's Black Magic Woman, or a timbale on Paul Simon's Diamonds on the Souls of her Shoes.
You will rediscover your favorite classics all over again.
Buy these.

Klipsch!

I paid full price and I couldn't ask for a better speaker for that price! I have been a Klipsch fan my whole life and these R28fs live up to their name. These speakers have very accurate sound. I have the earlier model Klipsch premier models, almost looks like the same speaker but has a shorter ranger horn loaded tweeter and is titanium. I paid a lot more for the premier model and I'll tell you the R28fs have a less bright sound to them and I like the sound all around better. The cabinet of the R28fs is definitely cheaper built but they put that cherry wood into the sound quality and won't bust your wallet! I love music and all you have to have is a quality amplifier and your neighbors will hate you. I also paired the R28fs with 2 Klipsch r 12 sub's of the same model. The R28fs will rock your whole house with no distortion all night long!

I first heard the klipsch R28F's at Best Buy a year ago. Wanted to buy them then. I loved the sound and clarity, just enough bass to boot with dual 8 in. woofers. Finally got them for Christmas this year. Also picked up the matching center channel 10in sub and 2 pair of the r15m bookshelf speakers. My system rocks the house. I love all my klipsch speakers the clarity on blu ray movies and music cd's is great. If you can get them on sale buy the complete set. They're worth every penny.

Bought four of these for the fronts and side surrounds in a 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos surround system. These are great speakers and are a huge improvement over my previous speakers (Bose Acoustimass) for a home theater system. Even when playing 2 channel stereo it is hard to tell that the surrounds are not on. The horn tweeters really disperse the sound all around the room. Great value for the price. Purchased on sale.

These are the best speakers I have owned thus far. I usually had bose. That being said, I wonder if Polk would have been better. They sound great, they have good bass, but the treble, which sounds good, is a little tinny sounding. These require decent power to get their full sound. I do recommend them but try others as well.

These speakers sound just as well playing music as they do with movies. They work well as standalone but are even better with a subwoofer to compliment. They handle a lot of power - I have them connected to a Denon 185 watt per channel receiver - but also sound really good at low levels.

I was contimplating between the Klipsch R 26 f or the R 28 f. I had heard both sets at the store. Waited for black Friday to see what was going to be on sale and the R 28 f's were half off so I went with them. have a 100 watt minimum rms receiver and it drives them beautifully. They have a great full sound, as far as bass goes. I had to actually turn the bass down on the receiver, they sound so much better at the home then in the store.

I could not be any happier with these speakers. I can list he to music or movies with these and it sounds great on both. It will about blow the windows out of my house. I am using a 2 year old mid-grade receiver and it provides plenty of power to push these speakers.

Had a hard time finding speakers that sounded as good as my old speakers until I heard the Klipsch. Everything about them seems to be high quality. Even with the large speakers, I recommend getting a subwoofer for added base. I was debating whether or not to get the subwoofer and I'm glad I did. The towers are a bit tall. I think the smaller 6 inch towers with the subwoofer would be as good if the 8 inch speakers were too tall for your situation.

I bought these towers to add to my pair of bookshelf speakers which I use for music listening and have been very impressed with the sound they have added, very powerful and clean. I don't have a sub-woofer yet but these provide plenty of base to make up for that. If you are in the market for quality high end speakers I would recommend giving these a serious look before you drop the $800+ per speaker.

These are big all the way around. They definitely are not easily hidden but the finish of the cabinets make you want to show them. The sound is full and clear. I'm running 2 of these with a r-25c center 4 r-1650 in ceiling for surrounds and a r-12sw powered by a Yamaha 7.2 receiver. I'm hearing greater detail in all my movies and music. Fantastic speakers for the money!

Giant Tower Speakers at a Great Value

Overall, the sound quality was acceptable, but I found it very difficult to equalize the lower frequencies with the mid range. I think this is likely due to the 8 inch woofers being coupled with a horn tweeter, with no smaller mid range to pull out the middle frequencies in a lot of music. I ultimately returned these for that reason in exchange for a low-end MartinLogan set that provided the clarity and overall range of sound I was seeking.
For the prices, however, these whipped my prior Polk Monitor Series towers all over the place and I would recommend them to anyone looking for powerful sound on a budget price.

Like always i think the speakers i have are pretty good until i replace them and fi d out how much i was missing. I use these for my fronts and moved my dual 61/2" klipsch floor speakers to the back for surrounds and these 28's sound a whole lot better. I wasnt expecting them to be that much bigger either. They look way bigger at home than they do in the store.

These speakers are awesome! The sound is so clear and crisp. I have them powered with a pioneer elite receiver and a klipsch sub woofer. The sounds just pop out with no distortion. They can get loud and maintain great sound. I definitely recommend these and I'm looking forward to getting the center channel.

I'm a music guy, I love to hear full quality sound. Whether listening to music or watching explosive action films this the best speaker I've even owned. Deals with power well, sounds great, better than anything else I've owned. A sure thing for movie and music lovers. I actually have purchase two sets now, one for each home! Love them!

I love these things currently have 4 of them in my surround sound set up. Sound awesome, low end is great. Could run these without a sub. I have the crossover set at 80hz. Great for movies and music. Especially at the price I paid for them, last year I bought 2 and this year 2 again on sale for 225 a piece
