Also got this during Black Friday. It's difficult to imagine anything better than this at $450 per pair. Not only does it sound good, it looks great as well. Was worried that the wife would think that it's monstrous. Was relieved as she was the first one who said that the pair looks great!

    Crystal sound to the ear

This speaker is worth the money, hands down. I bought the reference series to replace my 20 year old RCA's. What an amazing difference, and Crystal clear sound like I have never heard. I should have never waited so long to make the purchase. I paired this set with two (12) inch subs, a center, and two bookshelves for a complete sound package. The sounds for movies are incredible, first movie (re) watched was (We were soldiers) and the sound of the helicopters was if they were right above you, have you the feeling like you needed to duck. Next up was the music list, from Helen Longs (the aviators) piano to (Make some noise) techno the speakers were clear. These speakers are plugged into a Sony 5.2 receiver, and now am thinking of upgrading the receiver to see what limits I can push my new speakers to. These speakers are clear through out the house, to include across the streets when only turned up to 30. You can dedfinaly get the cops called for a noise complaint.

Speakers are attached to a Pioneer Elite receiver. Sound quality is excellent. These speakers produce a crisp clear sound with nice deep bass. Deep bass from towers is a great addition to my independent sub woofer. These speakers are huge; make sure they fit your space.

I've heard a lot about the highs being too loud on these..but let me tell you if they are too loud then you might have the wrong receiver lol I have a brand new pioneer vsx-530 with brand new upgraded internals which brings the wattage up to 120 rms @8 ohms. While the highs are too loud from that receiver unless you turn the treble all the way down which makes the music sound terribly incomplete (as I expect most new receivers would..) it just doesn't do the bass any justice on what these bad boys can pump out. They will read BELOW the advertised freq range also..I've played slowed and bass boosted songs don't to 26 hz very close to accurate! What receiver did I use though? My 10+ year old limited edtion of the RX-5050! lol which had 125 rms going to the two fronts..and with only 5 watts more rms per channel it barley even gets warm when cranked up! Unlike my brand new pioneer which when turned up past half way gets almost nerv racking hot after close to or a lil more than 20 min? ? Not only that but the low lows I can get off the old jvc is much better & the highs aren't headache inducing either.. I guess you could say this review is a extremely positive obviously for both the JVC & the r-28's but much more though for the r-28's! Sound quality is just magnificent! & the bass can shake my windows & is actually louder on certain frequencies than my 450 watt klipsch sub it seems! The only thing I guess I thought was weird was when playing on my Xbox halo sounded kinda different than watching it on YouTube even though it's the same optical digital connection?? But have yet to listen to it on my pioneer, which knowing my luck would probably fix the problem lol. Long story short (too late) live music is 10/10 Rock 9.5/10 rap music 9.5/10 movies 10/10..why the 9.5's? Bc certain bands & groups required occasional adjusting on the receiver I thought made them sound the best Bc the words wasn't always loud enough..does that mean I could just switch to the pioneer & fix the problem? Not necessarily when the human male voice doesn't fall Into the high category. But that doesn't mean that it wouldn't necessarily either bc the sound quality of the Pioneer was not MUCH better than the old JVC..but noticeable enough that it was apparent & therefore would have probably fixed the voice issue. Why not just get a sub for the bass issue? Bc the bass out of these things at 125 rms is more than enough for my small room (10-3/4 by 12). Cant imagine at full power though..Want to get these speakers? DO IT? Words too loud? GET A SUB! My klipsch sw-450 is perfect bc it covers everything the r-28f doesn't! Even though I don't even hardly use it unless it's rock music to get a better bass drum kick so I don't even need to play it at what most (neighbors) would consider to be obnoxious levels lol

After blowing out my old speakers, I was looking for something that could handle both home theater and hi-fi audio duties. These are fantastic for both purposes. They are very efficient and can handle a lot of power. I would go so far as to say that no sub is necessary to accompany these.

Good speakers for small room, they fill up the room very nicely..though they only have tweeter and mid range speakers but yet yet good base comes out of them.

Bought these when they were on Black Friday sale for my husband. He’s been wanting them for awhile. He loves the sound and it was easy to set up. The only negative for me is the size is larger than I really wanted in my living room.

Absolutely phenomenal speakers! I've had Bose for a long time, and was not a big fan. They sounded artificial to me, something was clearly missing. This time I wanted to get big ones - for big sound - and boy, these deliver it. With a bang. I am a recording musician, and expected a lot. Went to the store multiple times, heard them in multiple settings, researched them online. I have to admit, these speakers are a dream come true for me. In the store, they sounded a bit mid-range-y compared to everything else, but at home that is barely noticeable (room acoustics most likely the reason). If you are looking for big natural sound without breaking the bank, these are the ticket. You won't be disappointed. Pair them with a 12 inch sub and the magic will be complete.

Got these to replace a pair of Polk towers I have had for many years. Unbelievable the huge difference between the two in clarity. Best bang for the buck especially if u wait till Black Friday its basically by one get one free.

Was looking for a 2nd set of tower speakers for our home and saw Bestbuy had these on sale for around $225ea when I think regularly they were $498ea. Read great reviews from a few other audiophile sites and so made the purchase. Some reviews said these don't have great higher frequency range so make sure you have a good center speaker. These replaced a set of towers that on paper had higher range but significantly less lower range. Though I'm not an audio snob, I didn't notice any less higher range though I am certain there is more lower thump. These are very efficient so take less power to drive them and play louder at lower volume levels. These play loud, very cleanly, and offer more well rounded bass. 2 thumbs up!

I wasn't sure of these to start, but they are a great purchase for the sound system. They are big, but go nicely in the room. Don't take as much room as I thought. They have a nice crisp sound and look nice also.

I upgraded my older Klipsch speakers with these new R-28Fs. They are very large, but expected since I was upgrading from 4" speakers. They sound great with Movies and Music. You will not be disappointed.

These are the re branded Synergy/Icon series (new reference series) speakers from Klipsch that sound pretty great for the introductory price. I've heard some $70k+ systems so it's hard for me to not be biased a little. but when I take a step back and think the overall quality for the price (half off on Black Friday) they cannot be beat! These speakers seem to replacing the RF-82 lineup going forward and while they are not the same quality as the 82's by far, they will be nearly impossible to tell apart from 95% of listeners. I have these paired with my RC-52 center channel now and they sound great! You may get better results if you pair it with the R-25C which is the matching center. (notice how the old reference line and the new one just have mixed up numbers) Final thoughts, if you are not an audiophile then these will defiantly impress you and you cant go wrong. If you are, then you will appreciate how well these perform at a discount price :)

My oh my do these sound amazing. Make sure you have a receiver that puts out at least 110 watts per channel to power these monstrosities. The more watts the better since underpowering these speakers and blasting them will clip the sound and destroy the speakers. You need a pretty impressive receiver or a receiver that has pre outs so that you can add an amp to power these. I don’t recommend these speakers for a small room and I would not power them with something that outputs less than 100 watts ornament continuous power. These sound crystal clear and warm and make such an impact in a 2.1/5.1/7.1 set up. Enjoy.

I am really happy to have made this purchase. I changed out my old Cerwin speakers (yes that's right I had to let them go...) and purchased these excellent Klipsch speakers. WOW what a difference in clarity. I had just upgraded my amplifier to a Yamaha. Of course then I had to buy the center speaker and so on. I am now very happy with the outcome. Fully loaded 7.2 system... I am no expert in sound but for the typical home user these speakers are excellent.
