This thing is great! Rocks the whole house if I turn it up. I keep it turned down since I’m in a small room with poor sound treatment, but once I move this should have no problems keeping up with the larger space!

This is one powerful subwoofer. It has literally shaken my house a few times already and I could feel the vibration in the floor and it was amazing. This sub is designed to reproduce deep bass that makes your movies and music just come alive. This features an Auto, On and Off toggle switch. You can turn the sub on and leave it on but that would not make any sense if you are not using the system and leaving it on Off would mean that you would have to turn the sub on every time. So, I leave my sub on auto, which automatically turns the subwoofer on when it senses a signal and then turns the sub off after going into a standby mode after about 15 minutes. The sub has a power LED indicator built-in to let you know when the sub is on. Unlike the other Klipsch speakers, the sub also has a mesh grill but the grill on this unit us not magnetic, which again makes sense because if you leave the mesh grill on while the sub is the on the grill would probably come right off with all the vibration. So, on this unit the mesh grill is mounted on the speaker with little pegs. This unit also has a “Phase” switch which is used to control the subs output to the main speakers. This can be adjusted to have more output to your desired listen position. The “Levels” on the sub can also be adjusted. The provided manual makes the process of adjusting the bass levels super simple. I have used and setup a few systems before, but none have been this simple to setup and enjoy. I have been using this subwoofer in my complete home theater system and every time I turn on the system It just blows me away. Movies nights with family are so much better this system just brings everything to life. The quality of sound you get from system is beyond amazing and I would highly recommend that you check out this system before looking anywhere else.

The new Klipsch reference 121SW 12” subwoofer pairs great with the Klipsch Reference series tower speakers. It is very easy to plug in and set up with any home stereo system and provides clean, deep bass. I was surprised and concerned at how light the subwoofer is compared to ones I have owned in the past. The light weight, approximately 30 pounds, is due to them using a 400W peak high efficiency digital amplifier combined with the lightweight Copper IMG front firing subwoofer surrounded by an MDF cabinet using scratch resistant, textured wood grain vinyl. This is a welcome addition to my setup considering the 20-year-old subwoofer I was using was nearly twice that weight. Unlike some of Klipsch’s other speakers that use the magnetic grills, the grill is secured to the cabinet by four plugs but could also be displayed without the grill in certain set ups. With this new model, the screws are not exposed giving the sub a cleaner, perhaps contemporary, look. There are both a gain and low pass knobs on the back to adjust the sound without trying to over complicate things. Overall, this is a great subwoofer that provides ample, clean, deep bass to most home stereo systems with just the right amount of boom in my opinion.

I replaced my 10" Sony with the Klipsch 12" and now I know what a sub is supposed to be. Wow is all I have to say. When pairing this as part of a 7.1 speaker setup to my Onkyo receiver, the house vibrates in ways I didn't know a game/movie was supposed to sound like. In the box was this heavy beast that was just begging to be plugged in ASAP and bring the literal house down. Just note you need to supply your own subwoofer cable to plug into your receiver if you didn't already know. The sub is beautiful. Love the black design, but I don't think the grille comes off like most other Klipsch products I know of. I thought it was magnetic like the floor, bookshelf or center channels are but nope. No matter how much force I put, it didn't budge, but I also didn't want to damage it so I let it be. Setup is the simplest thing ever. Plug it in the surge protector and 1 cable to the receiver and you are ready to vibrate all your internal organs. Upgrading from a 10 to a 12 makes a whole world of difference. If you need a subwoofer alone for your setup, you cannot go wrong with the Keepers of Sound.

OVERVIEW The Klipsch 121SW is one of the best sounding subwoofers I've heard for under 2k. If offers incredible sound across all types of content, and definitely adds a substantial depth to the sound, making it arguably the most important speaker in my entire system. MUSIC The 121SW excels at music. Testing this with a wide range of songs, from Daft Punk's Random Access Memories to Porcupine Tree's The Incident, it completely knocked it out of the park. The bass signature is both forward and refined, never feeling like it was pushing too hard but always seemingly adding the perfect amount of bass to my overall system. It packs a major punch at the hit of a kick drum, and also blankets the low end with the strum of a bass guitar. It brought my music to life in a way that my previous sub never did, and it feels like the pinnacle of what a sub can be for under the 2k mark. MOVIES As with my experience with music, the 121SW added an incredible amount of dimension to my sound system while watching movies on my home theater. I can't emphasize this enough; its presence is abundantly apparent while never feeling over the top or like it was struggling to keep up. It just delivers exactly the right bass signature at all times. Explosions are room shattering, and gave me the sensation that my home theater had finally become a true replacement for going to the local movie theater (minus the popcorn of course). Dialog is naturally accentuated and movie soundtracks are pushed accordingly. FEATURES There's not much to discuss in terms of features. It has everything you'd expect it a sub of this range, with dual inputs, options for power triggering, highly effective volume and crossover controls, and a clean aesthetic to match. Perhaps my only very minor complaint is that the front grill is magnetically attached like the other speakers in Klipsch's newest range. This is nothing but a minor quality of life omission and in no way impacts the sound or usability of the 121SW. CONCLUSION Nothing is a challenge for this subwoofer. It delivers all the punch and thump you need, both sits back in the mix when appropriate. Paired with an Onkyo NR6100, and a new Klipsch system featuring RF800 floor standers, this sub is honestly the star of the show, adding a depth and dimension to my system that finally gives it the feeling of being a true Theater replacement system. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add a significant boost to their system.

Large Woofer That Sounds As Great As It Looks

For the last two weeks I've been test driving the Klipsch Reference Series 121SW Subwoofer. This woofer is new for 2022 and there isn't much information about it online. But I'll tell you I think it sounds as great as it looks. However, it’s significantly larger and heavier than any other subwoofer I have owned. The weight is a good thing because it keeps the woofer planted. Meaning it doesn’t vibrate itself across my wood floor. As for size, the enclosure measures in at 16 inches tall, 16 inches wide and 19 inches deep (with the grill cover on.) so make sure you take measurements of the space you intend to place it. With that said, with that large size comes a large sound. This woofer provides a hard, tight, clear sounding bass that doesn't overpower or cancel the bass coming out of my other speakers. While listening to music it sounds and feels fantastic. It's like having a drum set or bass guitar right in front of me. And while watching movies, explosions, roaring engines and helicopters feel like they are in my house. With that said, I really like this woofer and highly recommend it.

This 12" subwoofer has been delivering some great deep base since plugging it in. I recently added this to a surround sound set up and have been pleasantly surprised ever since. Some subs that I have used in the past have ended up rattling pretty quickly after opening them, but so far this one has been performing better than expected. The rear side of the woofer has all of the gain and inputs needed to alter any sound to your liking too. You can also adjust any level via a receiver if you choose to use one with this sub. One thing that does not come with this sub woofer is cables (aside from the power cable) so be sure to have some audio cables as needed to get this up and running. I opened the face of the sub too and noticed it has a nice rose gold accent which really makes the visuals of this pop especially up against the jet black color of the rest of the sub. From a sound and visual aspect this line up is hard to beat. All in all, I am very satisfied with this sub woofer because it provides a high level of deep, rich base while not breaking the bank. This brand is by far the best retail option for anyone looking to add a quality suite of surround sound speakers to your future set up.

The Klipsch R-121SW is an epic subwoofer for home theater and a very good one for music. The very first time I fired it up at home, my kids came running across the house asking about the thunder they just heard. It's a real treat! Out of the box, this was a pretty simple product to set up - detachable power cord is a plus, lack of line level inputs is a bit of a bummer but not surprising. Unlike the other speakers in the updated Reference series, the subwoofer has a traditional grill with little plugs that keep it attached, vs the magnets of the passive speakers. Another departure from the other speakers in the line is that the R-121SW puts the Klipsch name at the top of the grille rather than the bottom. Personally, I like the look with the grille on for the sub, but I would have preferred the Klipsch logo to be at the same height as the logo on the floorstanding R-800F speakers rather than in a different place. Sonically, the R-121SW performs just as you would hope for a 12" subwoofer in this power range - movie theater-esque bass from long earthquake rumbles to punchy explosions with equal panache. I found the sub worked really well with the R-800s once I set up my Onkyo receiver using the Auto EQ calibration. Musically, I found it a little harder to get the sub dialed in, and ended up settling for it being just a little too boomy for me - there's no distortion, and it's got a great punch to it, but it seemed like it was either just a tiny bit too loud with certain frequencies, or it wasn't loud enough across the entire range. I settled for a little too much over the alternative, and I think most people will not nit-pick especially when using this for a home theater more than music.

After looking around for a good Sub Woofer I found this Klipsh 12” 400 watt unit . I wasn’t sure if this unit would provide the base sound I wanted for my system but I was pleasantly surprised to find this unit definitely has a base bomb kick .. It is a great mid range sub woofer at a mid range price exceeding my expectations. It looks very sleek and was on sale too. It’s well worth the money as after this unit the prices all doubled .

If you are looking for a more affordable alternative to an SVS brand subwoofer, this is a fantastic choice. I had a 12inch SVS subwoofer for about 10 years before the amp needed to be replaced, and decided that spending over $1,000 for a new one, was a lot more than I wanted to spend. After doing a lot of research, I settled on this Klipsch Reference 12". The Reference Series is the newest model of Klipsch speakers and a significant improvement over their previous model. I am currently using this sub in a small home office room (approximately 12'x12') with 2 Bowers and Wilkins Bookshelf Speakers, and a recently acquired Klipsch C-200 Center Speaker, and yes, it is a bit overkill, but sounds amazing hooked up to my Denon Receiver, primarily being used as the sound system for my PS5. A 10inch would probably better suit such a small room and would be a good option. As far as sound goes, it has just as much loudness as an SVS, and to my ears, has a bit more punch in the bass, whereas my old SVS had more depth of resonance. For gaming, I would definitely recommend a sub with more punch.

I really enjoy my Klipsch bookshelf by itself and wanted to add Klipsch Subwoofer to compliment the sound. On my first impression, when i pick it up, it wasnt heavy and its a large box. Then i set up my RCA cables to my Sony receiver STR-DH790. I played music (hip hop) crank the settings and was surprised to hear the subwoofer maxed out. It wasn’t distorted at all. It was clear, loud, filling the room with a big boom, but it wasnt earth shattering loud. I was satisfied with the bass after making some adjustments. My expectations were too high. I was expecting to hit harder because of the size. Maybe i need to upgrade my reciever. Maybe i need more speakers. Overall it sound great.
