Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the exceptional sound quality, particularly the impressive bass response, of the Reference Series Dual 8" speakers. Many also praise the speakers' power handling capabilities and value for the price. However, some customers note that the speakers are large and heavy, and a few have expressed concerns about the durability of the feet. Overall, the positive feedback on sound quality outweighs the negative comments regarding size and weight.

Are these the best speakers I have ever heard: No, but they are much much better than the speakers they replaced. It is very great to listen to tracks you have heard for years and hear things in the music that you never heard. Only con is size these are big speakers, but they sound great.

If you're thinking about soundbars and are over here wondering what Klipsch is all about, just buy the Klipsch and get it over with. I don't care if you can buy one piece of your dream set up at a time, do it. I had a top of the line soundbar for four years before I decided to invest more in my home audio, and after hitting a fraction of the top volume and punch theatre I've created with Klipsch, using my soundbar again is like listening to a stream video recorded at some random swamp club on an android. The top on my soundbar is nothing compared to even the low mids on a Klipsch set, and they get unbelievably loud. I can't get those four years back but hopefully I can stop you from wasting yours. My environment, old growth hardwood surrounds, and not having to please the neighbors probably favours me more than these in an apartment building would, so that's definitely going to influence how great they sound overall.

Klipsch reputation speaks for itself. I have wanted these speakers for the longest time. I would go into best buy show room and listen to the speakers all the time hoping someday i would be able to get them. At Full price these speakers are out of my price range. I hoped that some day they would come down in price but that never happened. I would see them on sale for 50 to 100 off. but still out of my price range. Then one day i saw this on sale for 50% off and i thought to my self this must be a glitch. SO i checked the Klipsch website and they had it for the same price 50% off. So i jumped on it and man oh man, holy cow was i stoked when i set them up. Sound is ...well... Klipsch it was AMAZING. I bought several speakers on the deal and i am beyond hyped to have this KLIPSCH surround sound system with 12 inch sub rocking my house. If you find this on sale or if you can afford it at full price you will be stoked to have this in your theatre room. Amazing sound and quality.

HUGE SPL and SQL @8ohms. Take my money!

Sony Dh790 running 5.2.2 in a 15x20 room. R820f Set to Large not Small. These speakers have SUPERB SPL for 8ohm speakers and SQL that gets low. NO HYPE. You can really notice it when you hear slow motion sound effects. It carries the effects low and heavy like a champ. I have (2) 12" JBL GT subs in separate custom cabinets and a 300w external amp. One day I forgot to turn them back on after testing and didn't even notice. Started testing the Pod Race scene on Phantom Menace and the bass was rattling my house and when I tried to lower the subs they were already off. That's when I became a Klipsch fan. I previously had the Sony cores in 7.2.2. I've tried Polk also. Now I have (2) R820F, (1) RP504 C, (4) R51m. Way better SQL now. PROS: Efficient @8ohms. Lots of SPL plus SQL. That's the combo I love.

I have wanted to purchase these for about 12 years now... I found them on sale and haven’t regretted one second of having them! Superior quality, astounding sound! I would suggest using a receiver that can put out no less than 185 watts per channel, as these speakers are able to take much more than you can give them!

My wife and I have been waiting a long time to get a new sound system to replace the vintage system we had years ago (Pioneer/Altec Lansing/Empire). I’ve had my eye on these speakers for a long time so I jumped on them when they went for 50% off. We have a simple 2.1 channel receiver to drive them (120 watts per channel) and they sound fantastic without taking up a lot of space. Exactly what we needed. In the future I will be adding a Klipsch subwoofer to really enhance the bottom end. I am very pleased with these speakers. Best Buy was a great place to get them. Ordered them for store pickup so I wouldn’t have to worry about porch pirates. I have been really impressed woth Best Buy’s cuztomer service the past few years. Three Samsung TV’s, OTA antennas, Lorex security camera system, TV wall mounts, etc. I will continue to purchase from them. They do overprice a few small items (like wiring adapters, much cheaper at Wamart), but for the big stuff their price and service can’t be beat, at least not for me.

I bought a pair of these when they were on sale for $250 each. These are a huge upgrade from my old Klipsch rf25. The r820s bridge the gap between the bass and highs in your sound system. I'm pushing these with my old school Pioneer elite vsx1018ah (130w per channel)

Bought these to replace a 20 year old pair of Wharfedale Valdus 500’s. I had always been happy with sound of the Wharfedale’s, but these Klipsch towers definitely offer a much wider and brighter sound stage. I’ve found this true whether listening to music or watching a movie/tv. I now fully understand what others mean when they say these speakers operate very efficiently. Have only watched 2 movies since adding these as my front mains thus far, but I immediately noticed little nuances in both of these movies I didn’t catch with my previous set up. Liked these so much I’ve already purchased the R-51M’s for my rear surrounds and plan to get the RP-600C to upgrade my Acoustech dual 5 1/4” center in the very near future. I can’t say my system sounds as good as my uncle’s B&W equipped set up, but at a 1/3 or less of the money he has invested in his, I’m ecstatic with how these speakers perform and sound.

I bought 2 of these for my front L and R channel, and i love them. So crisp and clear. They also make a good amount of bass if that is all you get to start with. I added 2 subs to my setup, but that is only because i want to feel the movies when i watch them.

A little overkill for my room but man these speakers rock! Just for reference ... they are really bulky and heavy. Make sure you have the space and two people to lift into the house. One person can manage but you don’t want to damage these bad boys.

I purchased a pair of these towers during one of Best Buy's early November 2020 sales. What a bargain! They are excellent speakers, and reproduce a full range of sound beautifully. They are replacing a pair of Polk Audio Monitor 70s, which were also very good, but I like the Klipsch towers more. It's all subjective, of course. I use the Polk Audios as side surrounds for the time being. The Klipsch towers are paired with a Klipsch RP-440C center channel speaker, a pair of R-41Ms behind me, and a pair of Klipsch R-12SW 12 inch subwoofers, all of which I accumulated over time whenever I spot a sale. I know the Klipsch RP towers are also available, but the jump in price was more than I cared to take on. These Reference Series towers, with their dual 8 inch speakers, were more than enough to do the job as far as I was concerned.

I bought a couple of these and hooked them up as the front right and left speakers for my surround sound system. I'm sure that these are not the best speakers in the world, but for what I paid, I am almost sure that I couldn't do better. I was watching a show and a hip hop song came on with deep bass. I felt a smile form on my face. I knew that the speakers that I had up there before would not have been able to handle it, but the bass sounded great with these speakers. Long story short, these seem like great speakers handling a wide range of highs and lows, and the sound provided is crystal clear. I do recommend these speakers.

These are the best tower speakers I've ever owned. I had Polk and Sony in the past and these blow them away. Highly recommended! You get what you pay for and you won't be disappointed. Just make sure you have plenty of power to let them breathe.

Excellent floor speakers for home theatre. Dialogue, music sound very clean and crisp without being too bright. Bass is very tight without being boomy. They supplement the subwoofer very well. These are not easy to move/adjust on wood flooring because of the feet.

My 25 year old Infinitys finally gave out and I needed to replace them. I listened to a fair number of speakers before deciding on the Klipsch. With a nice balance of sound and style the build quality is 1st class! What I really loved is I got them at a price that didn't break the bank.

The sound is so perfect. I purchased 2 of these tower speakers and a 10" sub woofer. I played a movie without the subwoofer on and realized I dont need a subwoofer because the bass is so amazing..... I'm going to buy 2 more of these towers for more amazing sound.

These speakers sound amazing. Full disclosure I’m not an audiophile but I know what I like and I like these speakers. I originally purchased the R620’s which were pretty good but a week later the R820’s went on sale at Best Buy. I gotta say there is a big difference between the 2 speakers. The 820’s have fuller richer sound right out of the box. I only set them up about 4 hours ago, waited for them to get up to room temperature now the break in period begins. Watching the Grammy’s, will update my review after the break in period a with music and movies. By the way, I saw a review on the R620’s where someone posted that there was not much difference, not sure which Spraker’s you were actually comparing but the 820’s are noticeably different. (620’s were good but these are better.)

Lets say those are decent speakers. Not the greatest but work just fine. I think people buy those for the looks more than quality. I heard better sounding speakers for sure but if you are lucky and get those on sale( i got mine for 249 each) you will be happy as long as you have amp powerdull enough to power those speakers. My old amp is 50w per chanell and i run out of power right when speakers were started to sound crisp and clear. Hooked these up to anorher amp that was 160w per chanel and it was a blast. Great sound acress the range. I i guess it all comes downt to how much money you are willing to spend. Like the msrp of 499 for those i belive it to high but getting those for 40% off or betrer is a great deal and look really nice when covers are removed. But this is my personal opinion and you may not agree with but thats the way it is .
