The good, I use it with a .005% distortion stereo 2 channel amplifier for both old and new music types, and I do not need to use much volume for the amplifier. The control adjustments are on the back of Klipsch 15'' subwoofer. If I play oldies, like the Beatles or just basically older type music from the 60's, 70's, 80's I can adjust the bass at midpoint and it sounds great, if the music playing next has a lot of bass, you have to run to the subwoofer to turn it down fast. My neighbor from the Dominican Republic loves it and the bass, but I panic, I am 66, and when the bass on any song with heavy bass comes on and I have it at mid point, I immediately run to turn down the bass to minimum and it sounds great. I think I am basically not used to the power. To me, I have owned one sony 10'' type subwoofer, 150 watt output and usually have it turned up all the way on all songs, but on this subwoofer, the power is really scary and my wife will not let me bring it from the basement, even when I have it turned down to 1/3. So, it is powerful, you can not be disappointed in the power, or clarity. Bottom line, for me, it seems I have to adjust the bass a lot not to disturb my wife or son, who do not like music or the neighbors, because even in the basement, there is no way they are not going to hear it and I live in a large lot country home in Michigan, and the basement is concrete. It is not a finished basement. If I had carpeting and various sound absorbing materials around, I could enjoy it without worrying about the bass. I have it matched up with 2 jbl tower monitors with 2, 8 inch bass speakers each, plus their other components and sometimes, just those speakers are fine without the subwoofer, but the subwoofer really livens up things. If I had to do it again, I might change to two 12'' klipsch subwoofers, instead of one large 15'' subwoofer. Not sure, if I give it up, and switch, I might be downgrading the system, or buy another 15'' klipsch subwoofer, and just keep both at minimum, so I do not have to adjust them anymore. but turning up the bass to just mid level power, actually... when a song comes on with bass, even Celine Dion type song to get my wife to just come and listen once, as soon as the song comes on at mid level bass, it makes my body jump to action to turn it down, it is clear, but powerful. Maybe a lot better in a non concrete room, outside or in an normal living room. By the way, my wife will not come down into the basement, and is fine listening to her music coming from the basement, while she is on the second floor above the basement. My son does not complain on the third level of the house. I have never turned the base up to maximum and never turned the amplifier up to maximum, I am sure I will get scolded. My wife is the boss, I used to be happy single, just kidding.

I question myself spending so much on a subwoofer after never getting anything bigger than a 12" sub my entire life. Initially I was really disappointed with the sound but I re-tuned my system and got the bass I was looking for. I have cement floors so the extra oomph really helps. The bass is really tight and had no problems with distortion at any point in my initial testing with music and movies. Everything sounds very clear. Is it worth it? I don't know. That depends on your needs and what you value. Is it a good product? ABSOLUTELY!

I have owned many different brand home theater subwoofers over the years. I have a older 18” Definitive subwoofer. This 15” Klipsch Subwoofer puts it to shame. I also bought the 12” version of this 15”. It does really well. However I have a very large room with a two story open ceiling. So the 12” is amazing for its size. But it just wasn’t enough. So I purchased this 15” behemoth. It was so worth it. Stop looking for anything else out there. The quality is unreal and the bass is clean and deep. Never distorts or bottoms out. Remember you can always turn the bass down to what level you want it to be. If you buy a smaller subwoofer you can’t turn the bass up if you bottom out. If you have a smaller room then maybe you can get away with a smaller subwoofer. If I had a room that was small and had a short ceiling. I would still buy the Klipsch SPL 15” subwoofer. I listened to to SVS subwoofers. Was not that impressed compared to this Klipsch. I might even buy another one. Even though it would be overkill. I am using a Marantz SR6015 8K AVR. Samsung 85” 8K television. I also purchased the Klipsch RP-8060FA towers with the Dolby Atmos up firing speakers due for the front. Klipsch RC-64 III center channel. The Klipsch RP-502S rear surround speakers. I don’t use the speaker grills. Because the copper speakers look so good.

I bought this subwoofer from Best Buy and another from “Listen Up” long story short the one I bought from Listen Up was the first to go out only after a few months and now the one from Best Buy just went out also. The amplifiers are garbage from Klipsch. They will take care of you but it’s a headache to be contacting them and you have to actually replace the amplifier yourself. It’s no wonder they don’t sell them anymore. Never again with Klipsch….

This thing is big. It's heavy. It's not easy to get it exactly where you want it. But, once you get it there, be prepared to be thunderstruck! No, really, this thing will shake stuff in your house. I have it paired with a 12" Klipsch subwoofer to give just the lows, <40hz, 180* phase, and it does not disappoint. It's quite musical as well! Listening to dubstep, stuff from Lil Jon, even just a sine sweep to annoy my children, the rattle of picture frames, glass cups, and your brain in your skull will be enough to tell you to turn it down just a hair.

I needed this last item to complete my Sony-powered full system of Atmos surround sound. I only wanted to match my other Klipsch speakers appropriately with a Klipsch subwoofer. And I did! WOW on the boom, boom, boom sub bass sound. It sure beat out my other brand's speaker.

Quality sub reaching much below the levels of some Klipsch R12SWs I have. I ultimate decided to return it because I wasn’t more output for my money so I went with SVS sub. I love Klipsch though and this still is a good sub.
