The title to this review my be a little deceiving, this movie is more a Suspense Movie than a thriller, but thriller sounded better. If you haven't seen Knives Out you're missing on the best commercial movie of the decade. I'm not going to argue about its artistic value (though it has a lot), I'm mostly going to praise it for being a fun and exiting commercial movie. We don't get many of these that are not sequels, prequels or adaptations of content that was successful in other platforms. So this is a rarity of the best kind and you have to have it on the highest quality you can.

When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan's dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan's untimely death. Great story with a creative effective delivery and with a fresh form of storytelling that achieves and conveys more than an ordinary murder mystery. Don't miss it.

Even though I thought the twist was a little obvious, I truly enjoyed every minute of this film. The cast is phenomenal and the acting is top-notch. Playing out much like "Murder on the Orient Express" the story unfolds through the interrogations of the various family members by Daniel Craig's character. If you enjoy murder mysteries than this is a must-see. I bought it on a whim just because of the cast and I'm glad I did. There's a lot of replay value and it belongs in any mystery fans' permanent library. Check it out you won't regret it.

Excellent whodunit with a twist. Private nurse to novelist millionaire Harlan Thrombey thinks she may have killed him and it's up to Detective Benoit Blanc to sort things out amongst the seedy family members seeking the inheritance. Daniel Craig (James Bond) as Benoit Blanc cuts to the chase with a stellar cast to bring you a mischievous murder mystery that stands up to the classics. You'll love the surprise ending.

Is it predictable? Yes. Is it cliche'? Yes. Is it absolutely wonderful? YES YES YES! I loved the characters and Daniel Craig is fascinating in this movie. It may not be for everyone but if you like a good old fashioned who-done-it with a great cast, you should love this movie. Something else about this movie; it made me remember how good Don Johnson really is... I think people tend to forget that. I want to see him in more movies like this because he did an outstanding job in a cast of outstanding actors who also did outstanding jobs.

Within 5 minutes of the start of this movie, you already know the players and the reason you're watching it. It jumps right into mystery action. When I initially saw the cast members/actors, I thought it was a bit bizarre. Don Johnson really? The movie has you in-your-seat for the next 90 or so minutes and you just don't want it to end. Besides, it just can't end because I still don't know who......??? I have to leave it at that and not be a spoiler. I'd call it the best movie of 2019/2020. I first rented it before I bought it.

Went to the theaters to watch this with my girlfriend and my son. I wasn't expecting much from it, since Rian Johnson had just directed the incredibly terrible The Last Jedi, but turns out going in with low expectations was best, because the film really is pretty great. We had so much fun watching this together. My son, who was eleven at the time we first watched it, kept leaning over and whispering who he thought the killer was. Everyone is a suspect! Hope you all had as much fun with this as we did!

This one is a great buy. I love that they took time with the design of the steelbook. They actually made it look like a book with paper looking edges. It also comes with a plastic slip cover which is really nice in preserving the steelbook. This one doesn't say it's limited edition but is a must for any steelbook collector. I would definitely suggest picking this one up while it's on sale. For the longest time Best Buy was out of these and they were going for some crazy prices on eBay. Happy hunting.

I love this film, and I’ve been wanting to buy it for some time. I found a great deal here and I’m so glad I bought it. I love the extras it comes with, and make me love the movie even more. If you’ve seen the film at least once, watch it now with the Director’s Commentary option. Trust me. Only small complaint I have is that the digital code can only be redeemed in one service (Google Play, Vudu, Prime Video, etc.) since it’s not a Movies Anywhere code. Other than that, I loved the set, and like the look of the discs.

Get ready for another ride on the Rian Johnson train! Rian is a VERY talented writer. He knows how to write a good whodunit. His first major film debut, the AMAZINGLY GOOD and not so widely known "Brick", is a fantastic whodunit mystery set in a High School. This one is a step up for him. Apparently after directing "The Last Jedi" he learned a few things. This movie has twists and turns and a fantastic ending. Do yourself a favor and WATCH IT. Heck, OWN IT! This one will be worth repeat viewings.

I love this movie and sincerely hope to see more like this from Rian Johnson. It’s not often you get a who done it were you know who done it halfway through the movie, and yet the movie is still compelling enough to keep you going until the end. The cast is absolutely amazing and has such a great chemistry. It would be interesting to see a sequel to this movie, in order to see a continuation of the story or perhaps even a spin off featuring Daniel Craig as Detective Benoit Blanc.

I'll be the first to say that I hate what Rian Johnson did with Star Wars Ep 8; what idiot subverts expectations just to subvert expectations and make a cheap joke? That approach however does work for a spiritual live-action adaptation to the famous board game/mystery novel series Clue. This movie is great and really plays around with the audience's head. Would recommend. The steelbook also comes in a plastic sleeve and looks like a mystery novel so that's kinda neat.

Knives Out has a clever plot, terrific actors and will keep you guessing "who done it" throughout the movie. If you are a fan of movies or television shows where the viewer tries to figure out who the guilty party is you will enjoy this movie. Even if you don't like figuring that out, the plot is well written and the actors portrayal very good that you can enjoy the movie watching the unfolding story.

But this movie isn't really about figuring out who did it, but rather who didn't do it which made it much more enjoyable. That, plus the humor, style, and the fact that they mixed Digital footage and Film footage and you can't tell the difference is impressive. (The cinematographer has a whole article on algorithms and explains why film looks the way it does and how it can be achieved perfectly in digital, so if you're interested in that kind of thing, look it up)

After Rian Johnson finished The Last Jedi, he wanted to do something completely different & succeeded in a big way! We have similar tastes! I also Love Sci-Fi, Fantasy, & Classic Mysteries! Rian clearly loves everything he creates and it’s infectious! Wonderful fun & beautifully shot by his lifelong friend Steve Yedlin! Blu Ray quality is superb and full of great extras! Bought it at Best Buy for same price as Amazon but the difference is I took it home and watched it the same day!

This movie is a classic! Performances are brilliant by this all star cast. The movie harken back to a simpler time of film making where a murder mystery didn't have to be a bloodbath to be entertaining, where suspense was drawn out of well-played characters and where not much is as it seems. The music is beautiful and the house is a visual cornucopia! Truly a delight that hooked me the first time and now that I own it I intend to watch it again and again!

Old school form, a bit pat, yet very enjoyable. The acting is quite good especially Daniel Craig though I can't tell if I admire his accent or hate it. I'll go with the former. The 4K transfer is a beauty. Dialog (and you get a lot of it) is crisp and clean, never needed to strain to hear and there aren't any volume increases for jumps and such so, it's like watching a nice Ellery Queen or Murder She Wrote, which they do the latter! The house, knives, all of it add to the film and it's fun watching this cast interact though I could have used more Jamie Lee and Tori and a bit less Don and Chris. But, the rest of the cast is note perfect. Mercifully you can show this one to grandma and she will dig it. 4 stars for fun and technical beauty.

First, this is amovie you can't talk about too much so that you don't give away all the plot twists. I was reluctant to see it in the theaters (what are those anyway?), but after, I was glad I did. I wanted to buy it of course because I like to own my movies, not stream/rent them. The only that held me back was the price point, especially on the 4K. Once this sucker dropped in price, I was on it. Looks great on my 65" 4K tv.

I did not know what to expect from this movie, but was interested because of the cast of characters that made up Knives Out. When watching it, my initial impression was that it was going to be a bit of a sleeper, But as the movie continued, the plot developed enough to catch my curiosity and growing interest. From that point on, it had my full attention and turned into a surprisingly enjoyable and fun movie.

Writer and director Rian Johnson turns in a stellar film with plenty of fun humor and plenty of great twists and turns to keep you guessing until the end. Daniel Craig and Ana de Armas turn in fantastic performances in a film that is also filled with great supporting performances from the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon and Don Johnson. This was one of the greatest films of 2019 and is a fantastic film to watch again and again!
