Really enjoyed this movie. Effects were great and Tom Huddleston and Brie Larson make a great pair.

I've been a huge, titanic monster movie fan since dad corrupted me with them in my youth and they ran in Sunday marathons and after-school, afternoon movies. I was thrilled when Godzilla came back in a big, blockbuster way in 2014 and I was equally excited for Kong: Skull Island when I first saw those trailers. I already had plans to go see Kong the next day, when I stumbled across an article discussing how Kong: Skull Island was in the same cinematic universe as the Godzilla 2014 movie I'd enjoyed so much. That really made Kong all the better for me. If you have seen Godzilla 2014, then you should catch a few Easter Eggs when you watch Kong: Skull Island, which is a bit of a prequel to that Godzilla. (Godzilla was modern day, Kong is set around the Vietnam War era.) WATCH the after credits clips! They hint at some of the other great movie monsters that might just make it to this cinematic universe in the future. I won't spoil them for you. Oh, and for those of you who are also fans of the Marvel Movie Universe...it was just cool seeing Nick Fury and Loki in a movie together again. =)

First, let me say I was introduced to the tale of King Kong all the way back in the late 50's. The 1933 original version is still the best, and will always be the best as it set new standards for movie making, and held your attention from start to finish. What that means is that I'm picky when it comes to remakes. I won't discuss all that have been made between the original and this one, as there's really not a lot to discuss. Most were either only updated versions of the original, generally showing only updated SFX, or not worth mentioning because of the outlandish directions they took. That brings us to Kong: Skull Island. This one used the premise of the ape's discovery, but changed almost everything after it. I won't go into detail, but I will say I was impressed. It held my attention from start to finish (which is rare for any remake to do) and I went back and watched it a second time two days later. It's one of the few Blu-Ray's I felt worth the money. Yes, it's filled with action and SFX, and the storyline is more realistic. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and feel many "Kong" addicts will, too!

It's a good film. I'm glad it wasn't like the original where they brought him back to NYC.

Good movie to watch with your home surround sound. Everything sounded better compared to streaming.

The first time I saw this I was like eh. But after Godzilla king of monsters. I decided to watch again and it wasn’t half bad.

Fist 4k disk and the sound and 4k picture is really crisp and colorful with lively sound track...

King Kong fans go out and buy this in 4k. Worth the extra money. Fun movie...grab the popcorn

Kong was a pretty cool movie that was even better in 4K. Watch this on a large screen to really take in all the special effects!
