I like the high capacity and the small size of this external hard disk drive. I also like the fact that you can touch the drive and feel a small vibration when it becomes connected to the computer. Also, when you tell the computer to disconnect itself, the vibration stops and that’s how you know that it’s safe to manually disconnect the drive from the USB port without corrupting the files.l You can also store any type of files such as documents, music and videos, not just pictures. And it’s just a copy and paste process from the computer to the LaCie drive. It’s really simple to use.

I bought this hard drive to store my music and videos and tv shows. I use Plex to watch the videos and shows. So far this has performed perfectly. I have grandchildren running around sometimes so I got this one in case the hard drive was accidentally knocked off of the table. This hasn't happened yet, so I can't comment about that aspect of the drive.

Drive is built in a rugged case. Pretty ruough on tech gadgets, so this was very welcome. Cost was way better to buy this 5TB rather than the 4 TB for alomost the same price.

I had an old Lacie drive from 2012, that one burnt out and had to buy a new one. Tried a cloud storage but was not happy with it. Exchanged the cloud storage for this one and it does everything my old Lacie did and it is way more compact, I was surprised by the size! It would be nicer if the company guaranteed your files will be forever safe but I guess that’s too much to ask for.

I love this external drive! I am a wedding photographer so having something that is tough and great for being mobile is amazing! The only thing I wish is the thunderbolt connection attached to the drive was USB-c but it was nice it came with all the cords to be able to hook it up to any computer.

Hard drive appears to be durable and loads very fast

For my MacBook Pro, this is the backup drive...the Tank! It’s not light, it’s fat, but it’s a rock. I’m not concerned about speed transfer with this because after all it’s still a platter drive; however, it does need some space in your bag if you plan to travel with it.

My crew uses these hard drives all the time and relay heavily on them for storage and transfers. They have not failed us once in 6 years. Great product at a good price.

If you need a hard drive thats rugged and dependable look no further this is the top of the line hard drive currently on the market. You won’t be disappointed!

Best Buy is great even during this time of Corona virus, they took this back, i promptly returned this external hard drive, i read many reviews from reviewers I trust and I was really disappointed. The thunderbolt is the first generation not thunderbolt 3, my computers would not recognize the drive at first and it was just not user friendly.

I bought this item. It's not clear why LaCie labels the integrated cable as a Thunderbolt connector because it clearly is NOT. It is a Mini DisplayPort Connector attached to a Thunderbolt WIRE. It is NOT a Thunderbolt-3 USB-C connector. There is no mention of a MDP connector on the packaging. You need to visually inspect the photos to figure this out.
