There is a LED notification area that shows selected alerts. The app is autoloaded when you put on the case. Within the app you can set different notification preferences. Its very cool, but I returned it because the wallet style doesn't work well for me throughout my day. It's still 5 stars to me even though it doesn't work well for my daily routine
