    Great Hardware, Iffy Camera

    Posted

For the cost, this is a great piece of hardware but you have to accept some bad with the good. First, the good: The build quality is solid and this phone looks and feels great. The processor is the top-of-the-line chip for flagship phones right now and you're getting it for $400. Experience with launching and changing apps is snappy and responsive. Screen quality is nice, sound quality is excellent (turn on Dolby Atmos in the settings). The included CDLA earbuds sound outstanding. 4GB RAM and 64GB Storage is good. The battery is simply a beast and it comes with quick-charging tech. Fingerprint sensor on the back for easy security. Works on all of the T-Mobile bands which is getting to be a rarity for unlocked phones. The compromises: The camera is iffy though you can partially fix that by using a 3rd party app instead of the native camera app. If you live and die by your phone camera though, you'll probably be disappointed here. There's no SD slot for expanded storage. There is no 3.5mm jack (the included earbuds use USB-C) so you'll either need USB-C or Bluetooth headphones. There IS an included USB-C to 3.5mm adapter but you'll lose quality (a better adapter than the included one may help). Finally, the UI is noticeably different from the Android standard. This can be easily changed with apps like Nova Launcher, Google Now Launcher or similar but the out-of-box experience may be a bit confusing. So, do I recommend it? Yes, but only with the understanding that you're going to have to tinker a little (new launcher, new camera app, etc) and accept a less than stellar camera, no SD slot, etc. You're not getting a $800 phone experience but what you get for $400 is remarkable.

I bought this phone directly from LeEco at a discount. It's worth every penny that I paid. At full price, there are other choices to consider that may better suit your individual needs. Get this phone if: -you need T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling -you want excellent cell signal -you want excellent call quality - excellent GPS, Bluetooth, NFC -FAST processor -Good dual speaker -excellent customer support -awesome battery life - don't mind making little tweaks to get it working the way you want Don't get this phone if:: - you need a 3.5 mm headphone jack -you need microSD card slot for memory expansion -you need more than decent camera and video-taking capabilities - you need stock Android without bloatware - you are not willing to learn the ins and outs of this phone, and put up with its quirks. It works well for my needs but I had to put some work on initial setup. I installed Nova launcher and made some settings adjustments to receive my notifications reliably. Certain settings are buried under apps and sub-menus which can be difficult to find. Now that it's setup to my liking, it works well. For music listening, you can pair with Bluetooth headphones, use the included CDLA headphones or use the included USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter. Probably not for the non tech savvy person unless you set it up for them, but I do recommend this phone if you can get it at a discount.

Overall the Le Pro3 is a wonderful phone that has flagship specs with a mid-range camera. If camera isn't that important to you, there's simply no reason to spend twice as much on a flagship. Let's first get some of the "bad" out of the way: Camera - It isn't technically bad, just nothing to write home about. To be fair, supposedly the main issue is the software not the hardware so it could be improved in the future. It's comparable to camera of other phones in its price range. Headphone Port - Be aware that the Le Pro3 does NOT have a headphone port. It does come with a pair of very good USB C headphones and a USB C to headphone adapter. I personally don't use headphone ports anymore as I have gone fully wireless but if you do, just keep this in mind. Now the good: Fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate. Screen is big and bright and even though it's only FHD and not QHD, I wasn't able to tell the difference. The somewhat stereo speakers are great too, with one coming from the earpiece and the other coming from the bottom. The phone itself feels very fast and snappy.

It has the best specs in 2016 and only asking less than $250 in 2017. This beast has the top build quality and comes with a free earbud and a crystal case in the box. The battery life is extremely long. At night it has at least 40% power left for my regular days. The screen is large and the sound quality is superior. The only thing let it down is the camera performance in low light. It is average but not as good as Samsung Galaxy S6 or Apple iPhone 6S. Also, the fingerprint scanner works well but slower than other devices from Samsung and Apple. It is an Android phone but initially installed a customized UI from LeEco. It is not too hard to get used to, but I strongly recommend to install Nova Launcher to get similar stock Android experience with features. If you love playing games and watching videos and seldom taking photos from your phone, this is for you!

So I bought this phone cause the price seemed great based on the hardware it offered. Unfortunately even though it had last decent specs, the UI feel sluggish. I installed the Google launcher and it did make it a little better but still didn't match my expectations compared to other phone with similar specs. About the camera. We'll I expected it would be so great and it was online with my expectations. For that price, they had to cut something out. I'm so used to image stabilized video and using this phone without the stabilization made me realize how much I missed the feature. Also a few months in, the Bluetooth would no longer connect to car for Bluetooth calls. With LeEco basically it of business I just ended up living with it for a bit and then passed the phone on to someone who was in sore need of an upgrade. They're enjoying it but it's all relative to what you're used to.

This Le Pro3 offers great speed, excellent battery life and great build quality. Pros It has the same processor (the snapdragon 821) as the google pixel but with more processing power. This phones 4070mah battery lasts me all day. The fingerprint sensor is quick. The build quality is solid. Cons I like the look, color and feel of this phone but the one thing I would change is the black bezel around the screen. The camera is not as good as the ones found in higher end phones but it is not a bad camera at all. The software is has some changes from what you would find in other android phones that can be seen as a con to some users. For example the pull down screen is only for notifications and the settings menu is accessed from the bottom corner.

I read a lot of reviews, and YouTube's before I bought this phone. I was prepared for the quirks of a Chinese phone, but I have to say. Really great job. This phone, since the update I downloaded OTA When I first got it has been great. TheHD voice is awesome, my Nexus 6p wouldn't do it on ATT even though it was capable but this one does. The camera gets dinged everywhere, but it is actually good, easily as good as the one on the 6p. The phone speed is awesome, never any lagging. One weird thing, when you reboot, Bluetooth comes up OFF. I am very pleased to have a phone faster than a pixel (that is a real statement not hyperbole) that costs HALF as much with 64 GB of storage and 4 GB ram is crazy.

$250 will get you 4GB RAM , 64 GB storage ( some 50 GB in reality ) and a well design phone . It feels good in hand , like well built , no cheap plastic cover etc . Battery life is great , some 1.5 to 2 days of light to medium use . Some 1 day for videos and emails all day . The operating system is actually ok, no real issue to adapt to it , coming from a true Android experience . Camera could be better , still it does the job . Stereo sound is actually ok on youtube videos . Battery takes a long time to charge - wrote to customer support and received some response in 30 min - will see if they can fix it - this is why 4 stars . Works well on TMobile . Fingerprint is working well , no issues . All in all , will buy it again .

Build quality is fantastic. This is a gorgeous phone. The only thing I can say bad about the phones build is people constantly bugging me about what it is and having to explain it's just a phone and mind your own business. It's a total head turner and that's okay. SIM slot is a little finicky. Packaging is super nice. This is a total strong buy for anyone who doesn't mind voiding a warranty and getting a little dirty with the ADB and Fastboot. You get a premium box with the fast charge USB Type C & USB C headphones with a USB C headphone adapter for regular headphones! You also get a clear case and a screen protector inside the box!

I purchased this phone for my wife to replace her aging HTC One. She has been happy happy with it. It's easy to use, responds quickly, has a nice larger screen than her HTC had, and the display is bright and colorful. She likes to use it to play her favorite music when working out, and the audio performance is very good. She recharges it every other day, since it's running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. We'll see if that changes when it's eventually upgraded to Android 7 Nougat, since that is more power-hungry. I was able to get it on sale for $250, and overall it has been a great value for the price.

This device is fantastic quality. You are not going to find a better deal for the price. Top notch hardware. PLUS, you can unlock the bootloader and install custom ROMs. The battery life is astounding. With average usage I am getting 2-3 days before I need to charge again. Try getting that with any other comparable high end phones!

I bought this phone with high expectation because I heard a lot of good review about it. Unlike others, I don't have issues with the interface. The phone eats up a lot of memory and I have manually kill the running apps frequently. The picture quality is so-so.

Been a straight Samsung user while others in family have the IPhone. My opinion; this phone gives me all I want and need in an Android device without the restrictions of the IPhone. Great phone with lots of very good extras. Best of all, a third of the price.

This phone is excellent! It is a high end/flagship phone without the huge sticker price. I always bought high end / top brand flagships and were disappointed. This phone is not disappointing.

I think LeEco is getting there in terms of overall quality. But the softwars seems to be buggy time to time and I do experience reboot all of sudden. However, it is a decent phone for ita price overall.
