4.5* - Wash w/ Xbox Ally X IMO

4.5 Stars. Most important thing to note, Steam Deck OLED vents still smell better.
I had the XBAX (xbox ally x) and returned it to preorder the Legion Go 2. I rated the XBAX a 4 and will stick with that but it had the superior ergonomics, and IMO the xbox full screen experience beats the glitchy Legion Space when comparing the native software. Also The LEGO2 D-Pad and right thumbstick placement is horrible, reminds me of the Switch. I have large hands and have to tuck and bend, I find it easier to just use the ball joint of my thumb, though not as accurate. And my palm is constantly touching the touch pad making it do funny things, so I disabled it completely. Since it's detachable, I hope Lenovo or a third party can make a more ergonomic controller even if it makes it wider.
Also speakers, it's decent but the XBAX front facing speaker is much better.
Initial impressions I wasn't impressed. The OLED is nice, but some games I have to lower the resolution on top of upscale which made it look hideous on a nice OLED display. I'm also never frame gen as my eyes/brain is sensitive to the fake frames.
But eventually the LEGO2 grew on me, it takes a bit of tinkering for each game, if you don't mind that you can get decent results. Most games I'm running lower settings with FSR, and I prefer Balance energy/power profile for a more quiet fan experience and mildly better battery.
Windows 11 is actually useable as a computer, that's why I'm giving this the extra .5 stars. It has the spec to be a decent PC and can be a casual laptop replacement.

Great Machine - A Bit Too Heavy

Pros:
* Versatile machine (kickstand, controller, etc)
* Great performance
* Decent battery Life
* Best screen on the market
Downsides:
* Has Windows (SteamOS / Bazzite will perform better)
* Weight is a bit much for a handheld. This was causing me to have hand/arm pain from extended play times.
* Left controller seemed a bit loose and had some wobble
* Touchpad is not as good as the Steam Deck
Would prefer a Legion Go 2 S Steam OS edition with this oled panel.

This is a great handheld pc! I really like the size of the screen and it has great image quality. Performance is solid. The overall ergonomics of the system are good and it does not feel overly heavy. FPS mode is a great feature and I have used it a lot for strategy games. The touchpad can be used for gaming after adjusting windows sensitivity settings but the ergonomics of it are not as good as on the Steam Deck. I would love if lenovo released a right controller with a different layout that prioitizes touch pad and scrollwheel ergonomics in handheld mode for strategy games. This has been a great buy! Overall a strong upgrade from the Steam Deck OLED and I am happy with the purchase!

Amazing device with a lot of versatility. I upgraded from the original Legion Go and this device is more comfortable despite being heavier. The improved ergonomics, fantastic OLED screen, VRR and increased battery life make this a great upgrade over the original. The chip is also faster and will give a 10-15% performance increase in most games. Highly recommended.

Let's be real it's very expensive but I absolutely love it! To be fair I also absolutely love the original Legion go. I didn't have a great reason to upgrade but I just really wanted more RAM and a bigger battery. It runs everything I ask it to usually at high or greater settings. It's a little heavy but my wrist still gets stronger as I use it. The Xbox full screen experience makes a huge difference with usability and performance. If you've got the spare change this is the one I would go for. Though the two terabyte model would have definitely been worth it if I could have gotten my hands on it since I ended up buying a four terabyte drive to put in it.

First off I owned a Steam Deck and LeGo gen 1. Mostly wanted this guy for the better screen and the slightly better performance to play certain games a bit better). The screen did not disappoint whatsoever. This device is a bit on the heavy side but that doesn't bother me at all. Battery life varies depending on the game but its definitely a massive improvement over the first Legion Go device.
If your willing to invest in the cost of this device, you wont be disappointed. I did upgrade my SSD with a 4tb and was super easy to install. Having this made it easy to install a ton of games and emulators.

This thing is a beast! A huge performance upgrade over the Legion Go 1. While the Legion Go 1 was fast, it was definitely held back by the lack of RAM and screen resolution, but the 2 solved both of these issues for me with 32 gb of RAM and a smaller screen resolution that somehow looks even better than the original device. Highly recommended upgrade!
Only downside is that 1tb feels like a low amount of storage for how many games I play. 2tb standard would have been better.

As an avid console gamer, and currently maining the PS5Pro, im sure we all have pondered, “Should i get into the pc scene?” And all the complications of pc parts and configurations and whatnot. I got the LeGo1 awhile ago to test it out and it absolutely blew my mind. It really is a Portable PC with great versatility. LeGo2? Its similar to those space movies and they travel through space at lightspeed and you see it just BLASTOFF. Thats the difference between LeGo1 and 2! Thermal is like 100x better, fingerprint scanner is absoultely game changing without us even wanting it, the new Desktop and Task buttons were GENIUS and it makes the entire handheld PC experience 32x better. Ergonomics is 17x better. OLED screen? Its SIGNIFICANTLY better and vivint. Some caviats are that one of the USBC ports are on the bottom…. Which is just brain dead asf. The “out-of-the-box” BIOS is not optimized, so i can see many “noobs” getting frustrated trying to configure the system softwares. Buttttttttt other than that this device is hands down the cream of the crop right now.

I came from ally X/Xbox ally X. Comparing to this thing is on different levels. The 8.8” Oled screen is amazing. The detachable controls are great. Some people complain about the weight of this thing but I have big hands and it feels very good. The build quality of this is great. It’s very hard to move to a different handheld after this one.

Compared to the Xbox Ally X they’re pretty much the same in terms of performance. The LeGo 2 has a bigger screen that’s Oled and attachable controllers and kick stand like the switch that makes it to where you can have put it down and play anywhere. The larger screen is what got me to like this over the Xbox Ally X. The comfort is good but the screen is too small.

Amazing handheld. I'm able to run Stellar Blade on max settings on this beast. The OLED screen is leagues better than other handhelds with LCD screens. Performance is great, barely hear the fan when it kicks on. Only gripe is it's only has 1 tb of storage, but if you know how, it's upgradable with an SSD swap.

Other than the typical Windows user experience and tweaking of games etc this thing is awesome. If you understand what you are getting into owning a windows handheld, that shouldn't be a reason to complain.
I wish the right thumbstick was a little higher but its never gonne be one size fits all when it comes to ergonomics and hand sizes.
All the games i enjoy playing have had a significant boost in performance due to the upgraded ram and processor. For reference the games i have run on it so far have been: D4, D2R, D3 (emulated), Last Epoch, PoE2, Bf6, RDR2 and CoD. None of them have been a bad experience once tweaked for maximum performances vs graphics.
The screen is as advertised. An upgrade i wasnt particularly interested in but I dont think i cpuld go back to the non Oled screen.
All in all if you know what youre paying for in this niche market you shouldnt really have a problem with this device. The only bit of buyers remorse I have is the potential of not being future proof once the next gen rolls out. Thats the same with all tech though.

It is a bit heavy and will wear your hands out after a solid gaming station. The oled screen and power is worth the investment. It plays most new gen games very well. Obscur 33 is averaging 70 fps at low settings but is very playable. BF6 is sold at medium graphics, just would recommend a third party controller.

I would like to start off by saying ive owned the original rog ally z1 extreme since day 1 release and i loved it, i also bought the xbox ally z2 extreme and returned it. I love lenovo products i own a 4080 i9 liquid cooled desktop that ive had for almost 3 years now with 0 issues, after the disappointment (with the screen size and weird handles) i had with the xbox rog z2 extreme i decided to purshase this legion go 2, best thing i could have done. The screen is beautiful and games can actually run at that 1200p at mid to high settings. I play only AAA games outerworlds 2,stalker 2,red dead 2, spidermam and all those gsmes run amazing at mid to high settings at 1200p.

The Legion Go 2 is an amazing handheld gaming device. The giant OLED screen is glorious and it has VRR also. It’s more comfortable to hold than the 1st Legion Go. It’s powerful and you can play any game. The fans are quieter this time around. The sounds has been greatly improved for the Go 2. The only thing I don’t like about it is the detachable controllers. I have no interest in taking the controllers off. I’d rather have one solid piece like the Go S, but some people may like playing like that.

As someone that has owned just about every gaming handheld over the past several years (Steam Deck, SD OLED, ROG Ally X, Legion Go S Steam OS, ROG XBOX Ally X), the Legion Go 2 Z2E is the best of everything. It has the best screen you can find (it’s hard to go back after playing on an OLED screen), is very versatile, quiet, powerful and Legion Space runs well. I know it’s large, but the trade off is an immersive experience that makes it hard to re-adjust to a 7 inch screen. I know it’s expensive, but with the added features over the XBOX Ally X, $350 more is actually worth it for the screen, Hall effect joysticks, 32GB RAM and much more. Highly recommend - this will be my preferred gaming handheld for the next few years.

Overall, an amazing device. As I enjoy playing older AAA games, this machine is a beast. For newer AAA games, I would have to significantly reduce the graphics, but with Steam and streaming from my desktop, it's possible. With this OLED screen, I had the same crisp image I would get on my desktop, and that was my biggest reason for wanting to keep it. Battery life was manageable. The controller was right up my alley, as I have longer hands. The detachable controllers were a very new experience compared to the switch, and being able to play it while rocking my child on my chest was awesome. One thing I had to do when opening it was to install the drivers and updates. It is Windows 11, so expect that to be normal when booting up daily. I see on the Lenovo site that they do have more variants of this model, where it comes in 2TB, which I had hoped for, but it doesn't seem like Best Buy will sell that version. All in all, great device if your just getting into the handheld world.

I bought this item as used acceptable condition. When I received the item it looked almost brand new with the papers and everything that came from the factory included The charger still had the plastics on it. It looks like somebody open this package maybe decided that they didn't want it and sent it right back. As far as this particular variation of this device I plan on using SteamOS. I had another one with the same RAM and processor and with steam OS it was amazing. I have a laptop for playing my AAA titles at higher resolution and higher frame rate so this is mainly for my backlog and indie games but it will play AAA games at a playable frame rate if you need to play them on the go. The best comparison I have for this would be that it's like a beefed up steamed deck with a better screen.

Amazing PC gaming handheld. The screen size nice to have compared to the other popular PC handhelds. OLED makes it amazing. The windows OS still needs tweaking to perform better, namely de-bloating but it still works great and allows for games with anti-cheat that don't work under Linux. I am very happy with my Legion Go 2 after upgrading from my LCD Steamdeck.
Minor nitpicks are the right controller thumb stick position isn't the greatest, but I can make due. The legion space app also isn't as polished as it could be. Hopefully they do some more work on it or just go to the XBOX full screen experience for the default launcher.
