I’ve been using the Legion Go 2 for a little while now, and I’m honestly blown away. It feels solid the moment you pick it up, and the performance is way better than I expected for a handheld. Games run smoothly, the screen looks gorgeous, and the controls just feel right in my hands. I also added the Xbox full-screen experience, which makes the whole setup even better. It’s quickly become my favorite way to play when I’m not at my desk. Super happy with this purchase!

Overall, nice in a several aspects, from the gorgeous screen, decent sticks and D pad, as well as battery life. The negatives are far outweighing the positives though in this scenario. There top firing speakers are so poor compared to the claw or the Ally. Even the Legion Go S has a superior speaker setup. Then we get into the weight, it’s BIG, but also bulky, it tends to wear on the wrists and become unwieldy. You can also find issue with the placement of the headphone jack and second USB-C, which are on the bottom and make them completely unusable if using the kickstand or docked. Aside from that, it’s a decent device. I have large hands, so it presented a problem with the layout of the right stick and buttons, as it felt very cramped. I ended up returning it due to those myriad of issues. Not worth the price premium.

An upgrade in every way from the first one. It's def not cheap, but the OLED really is everything on this one. Significantly better feeling to hold than the Go 1, I find it to be a toss up comfort wise with Go S. Better sound, slightly better performance but better efficiency overall than gen 1. My favorite Handheld I have ever tried, and I have used a Steam Deck Oled, a LeGo 1, an ROG Ally, and LeGo S.

The Best Hardware with the Worst Software

As a point of reference, I am coming from using a launch model LCD SteamDeck for the past several years. In comparison, the OLED screen on this thing really is the best screen I've ever seen on a handheld. Amazing color, amazing blacks, good response time and a high 144 hz variable refresh rate down to 30 FPS. If you're going to get this thing, the screen is the reason. Performance is also nice and noticeably better than the SteamDeck but you can get similar performance for a good bit less if the screen isn't important to you. A big con (besides the price) is Windows. I cannot even begin to describe how awful the experience of using windows on a handheld is. Coming from Steam OS it is just brutal and I feel like I am fighting the operating system to do anything when I am outside of a game. Windows is just not designed for this. One other very minor con are the controllers. I wish they'd just ditch the detachable controller gimmick as the side buttons for the detachable mouse controller on the right just feel fiddly and bad. Thankfully they don't cause accidental inputs and you'll get used to it but it feels like something I shouldn't have to deal with for the price. The bigger issue with these is that the detachable nature of the controls meant that Lenovo couldn't use the space on the front side for speakers and you get stuck with top firing speakers as a result. These aren't awful but again are something that feels sub par for the price. Not a fan of the bottom mounted headphone jack either as you can't really use it if you are lying down and using the handheld which IMHO is the best way to use it since you can rest it on your stomach/chest area. Not a huge deal to me but still a negative. But did I mention that the screen is amazing? Despite the complaints I do like this thing and you may too depending on how important the screen is to you. Rumor is that both Steam OS and Windows Xbox UI are coming to it this year and if either happens it will address almost all of my issues.

    The best handheld gaming PC

The Good: - 8.8" display is the best and most immersive experience you can get on a handheld. - OLED brings vibrant colors, perfect inky blacks with infinite contrast, and HDR looks incredible. - 144hz with VRR makes games look butter smooth. - Performance on the Z2E processor and 32GB of RAM is solid with being able to play all my favorite games on the go. - The most versatile handheld with 4 different ways to use it. Handheld, console, FPS, or tablet mode. - Streaming to the Legion Go 2 is awesome. If you have a decent PC, you can use sunshine or apollo app (I use apollo) on your PC, and moonlight on the legion go, and stream all your games to your handheld. This is one of the ways to take full advantage of the display and play your games on max settings at full 1200p 144hz on the OLED screen. The mid: - Windows 11 is a clunky experience on a handheld that takes up a lot of resources. Look into getting the "xbox full screen experience" on the legion go 2 for a better UI that allows you to access all your games and launchers from one space, while using far less resources to increase performance - Comfort is ok. It is a big and heavy device, and the right thumb stick can feel a little cramped during extended playing sessions. Not a deal breaker, but something I've noticed. Also, playing with 2 separate controllers when they are detached feels awkward. It would have been nice include a plastic piece to make your 2 controllers into 1. I know you can buy these separately, but with how much these things cost, it should have been included. The bad: - The price of this generation of handhelds is pretty crazy. Also compared to the first Legion Go and the fact that this costs almost twice the price is even crazier to think about. - The setup process of windows 11 is annoying. You got to update windows, update your apps in the Microsoft store, update your BIOS and/or drivers in the legion space app, possibly uninstall and reinstall your gpu drivers, and then, if you're lucky and didn't run into any issues, then you can start downloading your launchers and games.

This device has been a solid upgrade from my steam deck Oled. It allows me to play more demanding games at higher FPS and resolution. Battery life is OK, but that’s a trade off I was willing to make. Right side of the device was a little cramp inducing due to the layout of buttons and joystick, but my hand already adjusted a good amount to it. Will still keep my SD for lower end gaming since it’s still a great device for those games.

This has been an amazing purchase for me. I am a father of 2 who used to game but have seen my chances to do so become more limited. Anytime the TV is on my children take over the tv. I was getting resigned to the fact that i would no longer be able to game but the hand held pcs changed that. For me this is the best device for fathers. Sure there are other oprions but that OLED screen and the size are just perfect. I can game while my kids watch a movie or show. In the rare ocassions i can use a TV, this hanheld just does mazing at 1080p. Tabletop mode is also great. FPS mode is hit or miss on games, not because i feel an improvement on some games while other feel just the same. This thing has been amazing for me, its expensive if you have other options but for people like me who cant really play on a tv, this is the best option. The OLED display is soo nice that i prefer gaming on the device other the Tv.

So I’ll start off by saying I really enjoying using this handheld. The screen, speakers, and controls were top notch. It was very powerful and ran a lot of games at low settings but full resolution. So zero complaints on performance. Battery life was absolutely terrible. Even just watching videos I couldn’t get more than a few hours out of the device. And while gaming it was a must to be plugged it for any extended gaming session. But you couldn’t play games long without either leaning on a table or having some way to support the device. This thing was uncomfortably heavy. So using it in tablet mode with the controllers disconnected or leaning on a table. I ultimately returned it because it just wasn’t worth the money.

      Hello,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're sorry to hear that you ran into some pain points, leading to you returning the system. We understand your perspective, and we've noted your comments regarding battery life and weight. In a mission to deliver every performance and feature spec users asked for the Legion Go to have, the Legion Go 2 was born, and with that comes the drawbacks of system efficiency with a high-performance CPU, along with the necessary components to keep it cool and more, leading to more weight.

We have noted your comments, as your input is important in our review of opportunities for improvement. We hope that you choose our products again in the future, and that you feel free to reach out to us with any issues, as we strive to provide the best experience possible.

      Best regards,

Significantly better over previous model. The price is a bit what makes users have buyers remorse but this technology is new and to be expected. Otherwise if price is within your means then this is an excellent machine. Battery is significantly better. Screen is beautiful. Controllers feel way better in hands vs previous model.

I used to have the Steam Deck OLED & Ally X, this is essentially the best of both. Pros Big OLED screen Runs AAA games at solid framerates Cons Battery life is kind of horrible about 1-2 hours of battery life on AAA games. Weight its significantly heavy compared to the consoles I've previously owned.

This one is tough. I have had mine for a week and have to decide whether to keep it or return it in a few days. The unit is fantastic, with an unbelievably clear, bright, and sharp screen. Games run great on it, but here's the rub: you have to tweak and tinker with each game. A lot of time is spent in meetings trying to. Get the optional settings. I had COD 7 through Xbox Game Pass. I have that running excellently, fast, responsive, but I only get just over an hour on battery. I'm really torn between keeping it and returning it. It's the price, it's costly for what it does, ideally this should be a 700-800$ device. I know they can not make it for that; they are in business. Totally different device, like comparing Apples to Oranges, but for my use case, sitting in bed, or lying on the couch, my PlayStation Portal does it better at a 10th of the cost, yes, it does not have an OLED display, and it only streams. Still, the games work, up and running in 90 seconds from boot. My head and wallet say return it, my heart says keep it.

Not a fan of Windows, so I installed Bazzite on it and it made my experience MUCH more enjoybale. It essentially turns into a beefed up Legion Go S which was also great. The screen however is where this handheld leaves everything else in the dust. It’s simply sublime and once you see it, its hard to game on a LCD screen like the Xbox Ally. Its expensive, but you get what you pay for. 10/10, 5 stars, and two thumbs up for this device. The one caveat I have, however, is the side buttons. Why they placed buttons where your palm goes is beside me. Yes, you can disable them but its still annoying to click them. There are cases that essentially block those buttons though. Also, this was typed on my iPhone and I can’t make separate paragraphs.

Gaming is just 1 of the many things this portable PC can handle. It's a multi-purpose machine that boast the best OLED screen of any other handheld currently. Fast and responsive. I don't play FPS games since I get motion sickness easily but RPG and fighting games look stunning!! Make sure to watch some Youtube videos on how to optimize the Legion Go 2 Extreme for optimal performance. Yes it is pricey but if you want the best you have to pay for it. No regrets on this purchase!

This is my first PC gaming handheld so I can’t compare it to other devices. In my experience I really enjoy this product. There is a slight discomfort when playing while lying down because it is heavy to hold upward, but other than that is great to play while sitting upright. The battery drains with max settings but that’s expected, however playing smaller demanding games or cloud streaming prolongs the battery use which is great considering I’m subscribed to Xbox ultimate. My purchase included month of Game Pass Ultimate that I’ve tried to redeem however the redemption code won’t process which is a bummer but doesn’t have any hindrance on the Legion Go 2 itself.

But let me say this this one is the hand held to beat, yes it’s extremely expensive but it’s worth it imo. It’s like the switch and a gaming pc hade a kid and this was born.
