Not for small or even average hands
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please keep in my the size of your hands. I have average sized hands for a woman, with slightly short thumbs, but nothing crazy. Yet it was impossible to comfortably game on this. I am so sad that I had to return it because the screen was gorgeous, steam os was great, I really liked it. Yes, the tiny touchpad was slightly difficult to use, but I would have loved to keep this. However, this was apparently made only for people with large hands in mind because I tried playing for ages on several different games and, not only did it *hurt* my hands to use, the buttons were spaced in such a way as to make me clumsy with my gaming. I've not had this issue on other controllers, including the Xbox controller, something about this was just not made for anyone with average or small hands to use. All the reviews that say this is ergonomic actually mean it's only ergonomic for, let's be honest, male hands, which is an absolute shame that they couldn't find a middle ground for the button spacing.

Don’t hesitate to buy. Worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I held off on buying steam decks for a while because I didn’t see the value and at first glance they did not seem to offer much value. Fast forward a few years and I will say that the technology has come a long way. This steam deck is more powerful than my current laptop. It is quieter and more portable. I did a lot of research on the best steam deck for the price and this is the one. I can play the most current AAA games better than I could on my 2024 g17 Asus ROG. Paired with a compatible docking station this will replace your console as well. If you are on the fence about buying a steam deck you will not be disappointed with this purchase.

Great Handheld
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own the original Legion Go, so I was a little hesitant about picking up the Legion Go S, especially since it runs SteamOS instead of Windows. After spending time with it though, I honestly use the Go S more than my OG Legion Go now. The first thing I noticed was the comfort. The grips on the Legion Go S feel much better in the hands, especially during longer gaming sessions. Battery life is also improved, which makes a bigger difference than I expected when gaming on the go. The 32GB of RAM definitely helps as well. Games feel smoother overall, and heavier titles seem to benefit from the extra memory headroom. One thing that is a game changer was how good the sleep function is. On the Windows-based Legion Go, sleep straight up doesn't work, but on the Go S it works exactly how you’d want it to. I can put it to sleep, come back later, and jump right back into a game without issues. That alone has been a huge quality-of-life improvement. I was unsure about SteamOS at first since I was used to Windows, but it grew on me quickly. It’s simple, fast, and very focused on gaming. Less setup, less tinkering, just turn it on and play. Because of that, I find myself reaching for the Legion Go S more often. If you already own the original Legion Go, this isn’t a mandatory upgrade. But if comfort, better battery life, a solid sleep function, and a more console-like experience matter to you, the Legion Go S is a great option. Cons: Mouse touchpad is absolutely horrible. I also don't really like the placement for the 2 USB C ports on top. They're a little too close for larger dongles, making one unusable.

Get this over the Legion Go 2
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as an open-box deal and saved a little over $100 off MSRP. In my opinion, the Legion Go S (SteamOS) is the best handheld you can get right now. It may not have OLED, but it does support VRR, which I think is more important on a handheld. Performance is excellent, and upgrading the SSD isn’t too difficult. Just clone your existing SSD to the new one (you’ll need an enclosure), swap it in, and don’t panic if the screen stays black for a minute—it will eventually boot and startup times will be much faster. The 8" screen size feels perfect. By comparison, the 7" ROG Ally X is too small, and the 7.4" Steam Deck OLED is close but not quite there. I added Dbrand joystick covers and the KillSwitch case (highly recommended), plus a matte screen protector since the display is very reflective. This isn’t my primary gaming device, so raw performance isn’t my top priority—I just wanted something more powerful than the Steam Deck OLED. SteamOS is also a much better handheld experience than Windows, especially since Windows sleep mode is still unreliable. My advice: only buy this on sale, ideally open-box. At full MSRP, it’s overpriced.

Not a bad handheld
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance is great, ram is plenty and the screen is great. The downside is I don't really like the way the grip feels and the triggers are oddly taller than the shoulders

It’s like a Steam Deck on steroids
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Z1 extreme version of the Legion Go S is like a supercharged steam deck. One thing I wish it had was a slightly larger battery though. The extra horsepower also makes docked play more enjoyable.

Posted .Hi DanielQ-
Thank you for choosing Lenovo and sharing your feedback with us. We are thrilled to hear that you are enjoying the performance of the Legion Go S. We have noted your comments regarding a larger battery, and we may consider them for future products. We aim to offer amazing user experience for our products, and we would like to recommend a solution to help improve battery life.
Your Legion Go S comes with the ability to toggle performance profiles. You can do this simply by using the hexagonal Steam Key located at the top left while also tapping the Y Key located on the right-hand side of the controller. The power button on top of your Legion Go S will change colors according to the active profile. To extend battery, we recommend Quiet mode, which is signified by the blue light, this mode will reduce power consumption allowing for longer playtime unplugged.
Please reach out to us through the Q & A section of this product page if you have any questions or need assistance.
Best wishes,

handheld awesomeness that was almost perfect
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for me this was an amazing device the grips, device size, responsiveness, layout, IPS panel, plus the steamos was great so no bloated windows. with steamos being bases on linux you do lose out on some games but that wasnt a deal breaker for me. only 2 downsides for me was the tiny trackpad my hands are not that small lol, and the battery life/size older/indie games was fine but when it comes to the newer higher end games will drain its battery really quick. some games would only get an hour and a half before it died. if i was only using it at home where i had access to chargers i would have kept it easily. all in all it was a great little device and looking forward to what these device can achieve in the future.

Solid Handheld
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the Legion Go for quick play sessions and the way it jumps straight into Steam. It boots fast and gets into games without delay, and the eight inch 120 Hz screen looks smooth and sharp. The Z1 Extreme chip and the generous memory make menus snappy and keep games feeling responsive, and the one terabyte drive gives real room for installs so there is less shuffling. The controls feel soft to the touch with precise inputs, and the body feels sturdy with materials that hold up well. After a few days the shell still looks clean, the buttons have a consistent feel, and the whole unit gives a solid in hand impression that makes it easy to use on the couch or at a desk. Battery life is the weak spot for me, though having USB C cables around makes it easy to top up between sessions. Storage or battery upgrades are possible but take patience and the process is more of a chore than I expected, so I plan to rely on the internal drive for a while. The good news is that day to day use is smooth, the instant start is reliable, and the software side feels stable with Steam at the center. The price sits on the high side, but if you will use it often the performance and build make it worthwhile, and the price for the quality is good.

Great little machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little things is actually lighter than I expected. It has a ton of power to play modern PC games on the go. Only downsides are the honestly terrible trackpad and battery life.

Perfect little beast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, this thing is a little beast, it really is powerful. I've used it at all sort of places, usually while travelling for business and it has never let me down, with the correct settings, you can usually squeeze a lot of battery out of it and get pretty decent performance on top class games. The ability to double boot windows11 on it for xbox gamepass is invaluable.

Best Handheld for Steam Os
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This bad boy cooks so much harder than a steam deck. I would buy this 10x over a steamdeck. The screen size is worth it alone

Love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thing is amazing had a PlayStation portal that was not cutting it. Got this thing and love it. Playing witcher 3, overwatch and rocket league no problems. Great wifi performance. Better than when gaming on my gaming laptop which I usually have to use Ethernet for. This thing not an issue rarely get ping stuttering. Love it. Did buy at 650. Which I think is the true fair value. But with current memory pricing I may have gotten a steal.

Fun handheld
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legion Go S Z1 extreme version is a great device.
