Very disappointed with the performance of this device. Its a shame because it feels great in the hands. Buttons are nice and tactile and the triggers are really nice. The screen also checks off alot of boxes. Thats all though. AMD’s “Cost Effective” Measures of rebranding 6800U Hardware and calling it new is shameful and misleading. The APU hardware is almost 3 years old being outpaced by the STEAM DECK. LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN. A THREE YEAR OLD DEVICE PERFORMS BETTER. that’s embarrassing. This was a weak attempt by AMD to use lenovo to clear old chips they had lying around not making money. Dont make them money by buying this. Wait for the handheld they should have released in the first place. The Legion Go 2

Great PC handheld!! I had the rog ally but the 7” screen on that thing was too small for a lot of games. 8” is definitely the sweet spot. I am really not noticing a huge difference in performance compared to the Z1 Extreme. Runs everything very very well out of the pox with no tweaks. It feels really good in the hands but wish it was a little more ergonomic as it ca get uncomfortable after a long gaming session. I would highly recommend this if it goes on sale under $600. Totally worth it

I was able to snag this on sale for 499, at that price it was perfect. I took it home and immediately put steam OS on it. Haven’t had any issues. It’s definitely not as performance as the Z1 version. But for 499 the extra ram and storage are really nice over buying the steam OS version. And for my used case of playing mostly older titles. And in games, this is more than enough horsepower. In the screen is big and crisp. Just don’t buy it full price.

Honestly, I prefer my steam deck OLED over this and returned it. This did feel great in hand, and the screen was gorgeous with VRR and extra resolution. Though I don't like running non-native resolutions as you can kinda get a weird fuzzy look. And pushing the full 1200p I had to run this thing at a higher TDP to compete with the steam deck even with SteamOS, and then the battery life was very short. I only recommend this on sale, or if you really plan to go full wall power.

Look, its as simple as this. The people crying and giving it bad reviews are getting it wrong. Its not the systems fault....its the users! UPDATE THE CHIPSET DRIVER! as you should do with any new gaming devices. You dont just rely on windows to donit for you. Download the newest drivers and you wont have the kind of issues that everyone is crying about. It is a solid machine and plays all of my games. GtaV on unltra settings. Cyberpunk 2077 on high. It stays cool, no heating issues . The screen is beautiful as well! Love the feel of it when its in my hands. A truely beautiful design. I most definitely recommend it! Just use your brain and update the drivers after windows finishes installing.

The Legion S go has successfully ran all of the indie games I typically play. It also has the power to run some more modern games (Dune Awakening) at low settings. The only thing keeping this review from being a 5-star is thst windows is not a great operating system for handheld gaming. Any frustration I've had with the device has been in using windows to get to my games.

    One Beefy Device

Honestly after owning an LCD Steam Deck for 3 yrs. I opened the box an was shocked at how beefy the device was compared to my deck. Don't see what all the negativity is about. I put Steam OS on this the moment i was reminded why windows currently blows for handhelds period. An yeah having it in beta has pretty much turned the Legion Go S z2go into my main handheld haven't even picked up my Deck in over a month the deck wasn't perfect on release but over time it became my go to device now the go is pretty much my main handheld. Yes if you are coming from the deck the controller layout is kinda a low but honestly with prices increasing on these handhelds. Im just glad i got this thing for $543 definitely at $700 or more or now $900 for the Z1 its like okay need to watch my wallet. But i spent $700 on the 512gb deck just because at the time i wasn't comfortable swapping out the SSD. On the Legion Go S its definitely a pian to conquer down the road but ive been using it to use Geforce now and Alan wake 2 was such a great game to play on it for the first time. Something i learned after buying games and handhelds in the recent years. Just wait for a sale and lower your expectations lol

Got this when it was $599 and it’s lots better than I thought. With all the pc handhelds i’ve tried and owned it’s the most comfortable to hold, great 8 inch screen, and for the same price as the steam os version at the time with better specs and duel booted bazzite it’s perfect. The weaker cpu can have some performance issues but with some tweaks, uninstalling/disabling softwares and duel booting Bazzite it was definitely a smoother experience with tripple A games. Battery could be better, but for the price we got it for it’s durable. Removed one star for the buggy mess with lenovo space (Rog ally’s AC runs smoother than lenovos program). I believe if they were to knock down the price of this particular model it would sell very well. For $720 bucks when you can get something better for less is a very dumb move for lenovo. If you see this device on sale between $500-600 bucks then I would say it’s worth it. For $720 you can get the normal Rog ally, the OG legion go, the og steam deck, or the legion steam OS version and duel boot windows for the anti cheat games. Otherwise this handheld was way better than I expected.

Yeah so you heard the reviews it's aight if you can get steamos on it which I have not done yet. Some games obviously hollow knight plays well it's literally on the ps vita now, just cause 3 is 40 FPS in action with 1000p screen and the rockstar servers haven't been working for me so GTA is a question mark. Oh also payday 2 works as it also works on the switch soooooo makes sense. Anyways at the price its nice if you want to tinker not the best machine out of the box.

Great console. Dont pay attention to all the negative reviews. Have realistic expectations of what a handheld can do. With some tinkering it will run most demanding games. The benefits to running windows is you can run whatever software you want. Comfort wise hands down an upgrade over the original. This console works best as a secondary on the "go" to your main PC or regular console

Let me start off saying this is a great handheld PC device. Now if you’re looking for something to play AAA games at high fps you need to spend like $1000. I’ve been able to playing most games without any problems. If you know how to tweak the power consumption you will be able to play most at 60 fps . If you’re looking for something for retro games, this will definitely will handle all the way to swtich games Nintendo switch . I actually like this better than the original go because if you detach the controller too much they get wobbl . The original Legion go is huge and very uncomfortable (pause). The Legion go s just feels way better than the original. Not to mention the streaming is great no problems streaming from my high-performance PC or PSN or Xbox. I think a lot of people are upset with the original price of 729 which I would definitely never pay for this one. However, at the current price they have now it’s definitely a steal if you’re looking for someone something more powerful then you can go for the Z one just know you’re gonna be paying almost 800 or $900.

It's a great companion to my XBox Series X, and an upgrade from my Steam Deck Oled. I purchased it on sale at $599.99. I wanted a Windows device this time, so that I could have access to Game Pass. The Xbox Play Anywhere feature works great on the Go S. I'm getting much better performance than the early reviews suggested. The setup took a bit of wrestling, as the Legion Space app driver update feature didn't work for me. (I used my iVanky dock, keyboard/mouse and monitor for the setup process.) I was able to download all of the drivers from the Lenovo Support site, however.(it wasn't smooth either, but I managed to get it done) As far as gaming is concerned, I'm getting great results. (I've done a bit of tinkering and am using the ample available ram to my advantage) Doom Eternal on high/ultra at 80-100fps, Lords of the Fallen at medium/50fps, Elden Ring at High/35-45 fps, OBlivion Remastered Medium at 45-50fps. So, it's a great upgrade from my Steam Deck Oled. I miss the simplicity of SteamOS, but I'm enjoying the access to Game Pass, the Epic Launcher, and Steam.

I bought mine for about $500 and installed SteamOS on it. I also recommend getting Lossless on steam to help double your frame rates on some games. I mostly play single player games so I barely notice any delay with lossless (if there’s any at all). Idk why the Z2 Go gets so much hate but coupled with 32Gb of ram and I’m getting pretty good performance.

      Hi TravisR,

      Thanks for choosing Lenovo!

Regarding the battery life, depending on the demand of the game you're playing, by pressing the Legion R button to launch the quick menu, you can switch to lower power mode to save battery. In the menu, under the performance tab, users can toggle thermal modes and prioritize battery life by using the default mode or creating a custom thermal mode should you not be satisfied with the 3 presets. These adjustments can also be made by going into Legion Space > Settings (Legion Space can be launched quickly by pressing the Legion L button (Legion Logo above the button).

Excellent equipment, it has a stable and practical system. The battery is based on the consumption or game that the console plays. I was able to configure the graphics to run Cyberpunk 2077 and it looks stable. It is a demanding game and can run it without problems, among other titles. Its immersive screen is great, perhaps a bit heavy for its portability. We could put it as a small problem: its buttons are a little deeper and the joysticks are sensitive, which makes it a good team.
