Price: Not worth the compromise (Luckily Best Buy has open box and sales) Performance: Windows is not your friend with the Z2go APU Comfort: Great job by the Lenovo Engineers Fan Noise: Cooling off hot soup Build Quality: Similar to a Steam deck Considering the SKUs that are out for this device it can be pretty overwhelming for some individuals, but straight to it...The Z2Go Legion Go S is a decent system; when a SteamOS derivative is installed, while with Windows 11 it lacks in performance drastically. Not to say you can't run anything with Windows 11 on the Z2go, but there is a lot of compromise when doing so.

I have now had this device for about a month, and I don't care what anyone says about Windows on a mobile device. I've had great success with the Legion Go, and the device supports all types of games. Since it thinks it's a PC, it runs (in performance mode) the Ascent without failure. I had a pretty bad stutter before making the necessary adjustment, but after that I've put multiple hours into the game and have really enjoyed it. No complaints about the device, and I would recommend to anyone in the mobile PC market.

Don't listen to the naysayers this thing runs AAA games with no problem some games you may have to tweak in the settings but it's no sense inbuying the z1 extreme just a little patience to figure out what works best for you my advice buy it I give it five stars and I'm talking about the Z2 go chipset

The price to performance on this is atrocious. Its a shame because the device feels great, has great controls, and a noce screen. But they chose an underpowered APU that performs significantly worse than the existing legion go that can be bought for cheaper frequently when on sale. Wait for the SteamOS version or wait until Lenovo figures out what the heck they’re doing.

I was looking forward to this device so much! I currently have a Legion Go but that device does not have good ergonomics even with added comfort grips to be able to game for a long duration. This device though! I can hold it forever. It is thee most comfortable windows handheld I have ever had and I’ve had Rog Ally, Legion Go, Rog Ally x, and a Logitech G cloud. The screen is also amazing and I think 8” is the perfect sweet spot between great screen real estate and portability of the device. The issue is with the performance and Lenovos legion software. When attempting to access the quick settings to change TDP it sometimes takes 3-5 seconds for it to launch. Launching applications on the device sometimes take a while to launch and I think this is related to the device only having 4 CPUs. The CPU utilization is usually at 80-90% without me even running a game which is crazy. I am going to return this but will be on the lookout for if they release a Z1E that has more CPUs because this fork factor is the best on the market but for the price I can’t have such bad performance. I’ll be on the lookout for sales as well.

Good device, it works better with steamOS. Good storage

The idea of this device is exciting, if only because you can install SteamOS on it and have a (better?) Steam Deck. In reality, it's not really better, though. You end up with a Steam Deck, but slightly worse build quality, some RGBs, and a higher price. The extra RAM does nothing for performance. If you actually want a "better" Steam Deck, just buy a Steam Deck OLED.

I purchased this as was very excited for it. It was delivered yesterday on release date which i was very happy with. When I opened the box, that is where the disappointment began. The system looked beautiful however, there was no carrying case. I should have looked to see if it came with one but i mean for this price why not include one? Instead there is a piece of cardboard that you can convert into a stand. Awesome. That aside i was like well let see how the performance is. First downloading the other gaming platforms was somewhat difficult due to all the updates that i had to go through. The Steam app never downloaded for me and i have no idea why. The xbox app did download for me and the system came with 3 months of pc pass which was awesome. I downloaded Call of Duty because that is one of my main games. I could not get past the Activision screen due to difficulties with the on screen keyboard. This system is just not very user friendly. The system feels somewhat cheap for how much this thing cost. I am going to give the aystem one more try but most likely will be returning it and either getting a steamdeck or waiting for the SteamOs system that Lenovo will be coming out with. Its going to be cheaper and easier to use.

Performs well but nit is not very optimized on windows so battery life is not great. SteamOS works better but not as good as a steam deck even though it has better specs. I have only had it for like 2 months and I am on my second warranty repair. First I had a bios issue that needed anew motherboard and now the controller is broken and is constantly putting an input to scroll down making it unplayable.

Works great and is comfortable to hold. User and service manuals are available online.

Have owned this for a long time now and highly recommend installing steam OS on it. Has been a great handheld PC

The console geels great in your hands. It’s ergonomic and as for aesthetics it looks amazing. The performance is really poor though. It’s difficult to understand the value proposition with this device costing the same as or even more than other consoles with stronger performance

Its has good ergonomics. Better than the OG Legion Go. I think Windows is holding the performance back on the Z2Go. Im sure the SteamOS one will performance way better on this spec.

Feels great in your hands, and the big screen is nice. But…performance is god awful, and the process to set this up is terrible. Windows provides a huge headache. And the trackpad as big as a thumbtack is a joke. Dont buy this for any reason, get a Rog Ally X instead or wait for something else

I’ve enjoyed ever moment with it. I’ve been using it to get through my back log and it has yet to disappoint. But keep in mind if you are wanting to play more recent triple a games this is not the machine for you and the version with the Z1 extreme is probably a better fit.

Bought it on sale for $499. Installed SteamOS and it changed everything. Runs about 10fps better than the steam deck but in 1200p rather than 800p. The addition of lossless scaling to Linux is also a game changer, doubling FPS

Handheld is great value for the price I paid for it. Very comfortable to hold. I run steamos on it and runs real well.

If you can get this for $600 or less on sale, it's amazing! I installed CachyOS Handheld Edition instead of Windows 11 and it's now even better.

I’m not really sure what Lenovo or AMD, for that matter, were thinking with this processor design. Think netbook / Intel Atom era performance making a comeback in 2025. Many games released within the two years are mostly unplayable, even on the lowest graphical settings. The handheld design, screen, 32gb RAM and 1TB SSD are otherwise wasted because of the anemic processor. Had this launched with the Z1 Extreme processor, I have no doubt it would be one of the top selling handhelds for 2025. Unless you play older games, don’t bother with this one.
