I got this and ROG Ally X and the winner was very clear. This was underperforming, louder and less comfortable than ROG Ally X. Too bad cause the design and screen is nicer on this
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that the Legion Go S fell short for you in regard to performance when compared to the ROG Ally X. We wish to provide the best experience possible, and we believe that the Go S stands out with the latest drivers and software applied to the system, bolstering performance and efficiency even further. We appreciate your comment regarding ergonomics, as this has been noted for future design improvement opportunities.

Regret Buying Early, Feels Like a Ripoff

I purchased the Lenovo Legion Go S in February for $729. Just a month later, the price dropped to $599—and it's stayed that way since. Then in April, Lenovo announced a new version with the exact same design but upgraded to the Z1 Extreme chip. Best Buy listed that one for $759, and now in May it’s up to $899.
Meanwhile, I’m stuck outside the return window with a weaker Z2 GO processor that no one wants to buy. It feels like I paid a premium to be a beta tester for a product that was outdated before it even settled in. No trade-in program, no loyalty credit, no heads-up. Just silence.
If you’re thinking of buying Lenovo handhelds at launch—don’t. Wait a month or two, because they’ll likely undercut you, release something better, and leave you holding the bag.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your purchase and your Legion Go's performance. We understand your perspective and apologize that you feel that you have been treated unfairly.
Regarding system performance, we recommend ensuring your system is up to date and adjusting thermal profiles to optimize your Go S, as user have reported improved overall system responsiveness and in-game performance due to recent updates shared via Legion Space. We also want to clarify that while we provide various configurations of the Legion Go S devices to cater to the needs and preferences of different users, each user's experience is important to us.
We also appreciate your feedback on the pricing and features. We strive to provide innovative technology at competitive prices, and we will consider your comments for future improvements.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here or you can contact Legion Ultimate Support, as your Legion Go S comes with 1-year free of upgraded support, which can be contacted at: 1-888-278-9707, Press 1 for Gaming.

Had the 1st gen and thougt this would be better ergonomically. The battery is marginally better than the 1st gen but the screen is washed out in comparison and not a fan of high the triggers are to reach. Fingers were getting cramps from playing FPS for less than 20mins. Know the performance wasn’t high. Not sure but the AMD adrenaline doesn’t seem to on this machine. I’ve seen reviews with the same menu as my 1st gen but nothing comes up in Windows search for AMD or adrenaline. Crurrenlty reseting my device to return it tomorrow. This is garbage and maybe the reaon why Lenovo website wouldn’t take preorders??
Hey Olive, we're sorry to hear that you had such trouble with your Legion Go S, leading to you returning it. Take my advice if you want a better experience of gaming and performance boot the device to SteamOS, and if you need better battery time! from setting choose low battery mode and that‘s will give you more than four hours playing of AAA games..

Bought this Legion go to add to my collection. I love the screen size and has become my favorite handheld to play steam games. I also changed the OS from windows to SteamOS. It was an easy installation.

Once I installed SteamOS on it I got a solid device that I have enjoyed using more than the Steam Deck itself. If you can get it on sale I would recommend it

Great feeling and design, lover the controls and feel of the device. Good sounds and display is alright.
Poor performance, high price and no EGPU support.

This is an over priced and undercooked option for hand held PC gaming. Its Slower and less optimized than many of its counterparts. It may have some quality control issues also. My Thumb sticks were not calibrated correctly and/or defective. The right trigger didn't always work. Not a good product. Get the Ally X, steam deck or wait and see how they Steam OS version is.
