My son is 8 years old and this was one of the things on this list to Santa for Christmas. With that being said, he has had this for a month now and the re-play ability (still working through all the levels) is very high. He was already a fan of the Lego Game franchise so for this to allow such flexibility, he will be busy for a while.

This game is so fun. Not only do you get to play good lego game with so many good characters you get to build a lot of cool stuff. One of the better toys to life games.

I have tried all of the toy games now with my kids and I have to say while my youngest likes Skylanders my teen son and I like the Lego Dimensions game the most. It is funny like a Lego video game and I like the ideal of expandable realms. Just make sure you buy this stuff on sale otherwise you are paying too much.

This was a lot of fun for a Christmas present for my daughter not only did she get to build it but then playing the game was just as much fun for her.

I bought this for my son and he loves it. He has always been a Lego builder. This combines building and video games.

My son loves it... Lego did a great job! Love the way you can build different items and play them in the game.

If you or your kids enjoy Lego games this one is as good as the rest. May be a little expensive buying all the extras.

This is a good stand alone product. You don't have to buy the other accessories, but I found that I have been purchasing them anyways when they go on sale. My kids have been having fun with what comes in the starter box. They enjoy getting extra characters, but they are not as necessary unless you want the game to be longer. Actually sometimes they confused as to what to do with the level packs. At full price, the game is expensive a bit for what you get in terms of content.

LEGO Dimensions is a great game for children and grownups. The game is similar to a standard LEGO game, but you integrate the portal and characters into it as you go thru levels. It is a lot of fun to see the characters mix and match across various franchises and it brings out a lot of the humor in the game. Very fun and well made.

You'll love this game if you enjoy all the previous lego games and enjoy the stories, humor and interaction of characters. Be warned, once you're addicted you could end up putting down a lot of cash for the packs. Love that there are tons of fights and bosses. World's are fun to explore once you have certain abilities.

My kids, 5 and 9, love this game... Basically it's like sky landers or Disney infinity.... But with this,you build the Lego characters that you play with in the game. The board is interactive, meaning that you will need to move the characters around as you play, depending what the game situation is. Very fun game.

Of course, Dad may have to help assemble this, although it will work just fine with putting anything together. We got this for our Grandson. Now this young man has played several of the Lego games before, so this didn't take any new learning. The mix-and-match of characters and vehicles works well.

My 3 grandsons loved this so much. They are 6, 9 and 12. In fact, they did not stop playing at the designated time by their mom, my daughter the teacher, so they are banned from gaming for 2 days. Oops.

Fun for kids and adults. Build your chosen character then you can build his or her companion and that too can be played with. Use lego points to upgrade your characters vehicles for the game. Certain characters can do certain powers/abilities. It's way fun.

My Son is 7years old and he loves all of the Lego movies, so this was a no brainer for Christmas. He loves that fact that he has to build the toy with instructions from the TV and they have dozens of worlds that he can explore for many hours of fun.

This game has the best of all worlds. It has unique world's based on popular shows like Disney Infinity and it has a good story line and playability similar to Skylanders. The best part is this game is tons of fun, even without buying all the toys available. You can play through and beat story mode with just the starter pack and you can explore 3 additional open worlds. This game also utilizes the whole earth; you can truly dive under water, fly way above buildings in the sky, & explore the land. To do this you will need some extra figures, but it is worth it. I was a huge Skylanders fan, now I am on team Lego even though I wasn't into the prior lego games. If you buy 1 game this year buy Lego Dimensions.

My son and I have been playing this game together! He's 10. We've been having such a great time. Get this game if your child loves Legos, it's an game you can enjoy for a long time.

Must have! This is great for Lego lovers and anyone who loves the characters it covers! I think it's good for 8 years and up some of the levels got me stumped but I love it!

Accidentally purchased wrong version for our system. Easily returned for right one. Kids love the game and are looking forward to additional seta to be released.

My 8 year old loves the game and has gotten his older 23 brother addicted too!! The interaction with the figures is so much fun and he enjoyed building them.
