like the other lego games, this is a hoot. doesn't exactly follow the movies, but who cares? its FUN! the camera sometimes gets stuck at a weird angle and its hard to see what you're doing, but it's still fun.

This is a great entry into the lego franchise. The gameplay follows the movie very well, and the cut scenes have been effectively tailored to appeal to kids without sacrificing the story. One of the best aspects (vs other Lego games) is that the game has so many central characters. Aragorn, Legolas, Frodo, Gandalf, and many others have unique and special powers, which adds a lot to the overall fun and replayability. A definite value add to any Lego gamer's library!

Found Glitches

I play almost all the Lego games. I found several glitches where my players would get caught on stuff or on the last level I had to restart cause the rock wouldn't come down the waterfall more then once. Overall still fun but the glitches were annoying. I also wasn't a fan how the tasks after the story mode were set up on this one. Still fun since I'm a LOTR fan though!

This is a great game to play with the Kids (or just by yourself). Honestly, you spend hours in it learning the story and passing the levels in just a blink of an eye. Highly recommended.

We love Lord of the rings and Lego so thought this would be great game for us. Turns out its ok but the controls were hard to use and get accustomed to. Enjoyed other versions more.

Although seeing the Lord of the ring characters in Lego form is quite well done, this isn't my favorite game from the Lego franchise. Given the vast amount of material they had to choose from it seems strange to be going on quests not related to the original material. The puzzles and game play aren't as smooth and intuitive as others making it drag in places as well. But again seeing your favorite characters in Lego form does make this a fun at the right price.

Game follows the LOTR saga well. Sone glitches in freeplay make getting 100% in the game frustrating. Forced split screen mode when having 2 players makes game extremely challenging. Camera views are not always conducive to completing the task at hand.

Follows the movies very well. Lots of fun, lots to do (many sidequests), lots of rewards and treasure hunting, good variety of character actions. However, controls on the Wii are clumsy when switching characters and using magic.

My five year old didn't feel challenged and was bored fairly quick with the game. I'm sure other people may like it though with it following the Lord of the Rings story line.
