Posted .With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

Decent inexpensive laptop

The biggest problem is the volume when trying to watch DVD's, The volume is very low, very hard to hear. I called Lenovo and they said they have had calls about this. I am thinking of returning it because of this problem.The other is the shift key on the right is only half the size of a normal key.

Due to budget, I couldn't go all out as I would like to. Yet, compared to my last laptop (Toshiba, ICK!) it runs smooth as a puppy. Absolutely thrilled, lots of bang for the buck.

With regard to learning your way around Windows 10, you may want to try YouTube.com (just type that address in your browser address window). There are hundreds for free instructional videos there about Windows 10. Just type Windows 10 Introduction in to the YouTube search window. You can watch free videos there that will show you the basics all the way up to tips and tricks videos and they're all free.

It requires you to be aware of where it is and make a bit of a stretch. Since I usually don't type pages of text, it wasn't a deal-breaker for me. If you mainly type a line or two and use a mouse/cursor pad, it may not really bother you either. Otherwise, it's fast, has a big drive, and a disc drive, for a low price.
