Very good entry level laptop

After a 4gb windows 10 update, and an hour or so downloading some of his favorite games and the all important virus protection, he is happy to be unchained from his desk.

With regard to learning your way around Windows 10, you may want to try YouTube.com (just type that address in your browser address window). There are hundreds for free instructional videos there about Windows 10. Just type Windows 10 Introduction in to the YouTube search window. You can watch free videos there that will show you the basics all the way up to tips and tricks videos and they're all free.

Not What I Expected

Cannot make things the size I want; everything is way to big and I have to scroll ALL the time to see anything. I do not like the positioning of the right Shift key as anytime I want to use it, I am clicking on the wrong key. I want to do what I want to do without being bothered by lots of other things. As I am trying to work, then messages keep popping up and then I click on them by accident. Not happy about that. I think the battery life is pretty good, though.

Posted .With regard to the size of objects on the screen, you can adjust this. Right click on the Windows 10 desktop screen. Click on "Display Settings" in the window that opens. Set the size of objects on the screen using the settings in the box that opens. Start with the "recommended" setting then adjust from there. With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP. You should have an anti-virus software installed on the device. Turn on "ad blocker" to stop the pop ups.

Great on space etc. My only big issue is how slow it is to get from app to app and that's not good having lag time especially if it barely has anything installed.

Posted .This system should provide adequate speed with its Core I-3 processor and 6GB of RAM. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults.

Good Computer, Lousy Sound

Good computer for school work
