TLDR: Pro's: Cheap, good feeling keyboard, decent battery life, sturdy enough to toss around, full size ports, surprisingly good for everyday use, especially if you have another PC to teamview into for heavier stuff. Con's: white plastic gets dirty easily and looks cheap, giant bezel, poor speakers I got this on black friday for a big discount, and was honestly just wanted something that I could teamview into my work PC with when working from home. I hoped it could handle teamviewer smoothly, and ideally chrome with a few tabs alongside, but I was really worried about the 4GB RAM and since it was so cheap I was also worried about the build quality. As far as the RAM goes, it can handle teamviewer, chrome with several tabs, nine (email app), netflix, and skype, all running simultaneously, without problems in any of them. I am astounded. I actually think this is replacing my gaming laptop and cost only 10% of the price. Obviously this chromebook cannot play heavy PC games, so I will be using my xbox for most gaming moving forward, but my gaming laptop gets really hot and has a fan like an airplane taking off, is so expensive I worry about it when traveling, doesn't really hold a battery charge long due to all the power it consumes, and when I am not gaming it is just more than I need all around. This chromebook is something I can travel with and not worry about it being expensive, the battery seems pretty good, I can use it most of the day without worry about plugging in, and really for general use I haven't had any issues. I have been an android phone user for a long time, so I knew what to expect from the UI. It did take a while to adjust to not having a delete key and clicking with two fingers to right click, I am not sure if that is specific to this chromebook or all chromebooks, but besides those adjustments the keyboard is really nice, the keys have good bounce to them and the layout feels really spacious for the size. The overall build is definitely plasticy, so yeah if you push on it there will be bend, and I am not a fan of the white, but this thing can handle being thrown around a bit, it seems pretty sturdy. The only other downside is that the bezel is huge, I would gladly have paid a little more to have the screen be larger in the same overall frame, and there is definitely room for another inch on the diagonal without any redesign required, so I am a little bummed lenovo didn't consider making that an option. The speakers aren't the best, but I was expecting that and mostly use a headset anyways. I also really like the option of tent/tablet mode, as well as the full size USB and HDMI ports.

A good entry level Chromebook for the sale price. I wouldn't have bought it at retail price it's just lacking features that come with that price tag. Lets start with the bad. Storage is ok at 32gb, but put out the extra cash and get the 64gb version if you plan on running linux. Display is good but the screen bounces when using touch in laptop mode. Random memory hangups? Google play music is broken with most Chromebooks running ARM processors including this one which makes it impossible to upload songs to google play. I searched and this issue seems to hit the majority of lenovo chromebooks so i'm not sure who is at fault. But I would like to use a pre loaded google service while on a google chromebook, this issue is appalling and needs to be fixed. The input slots suck. Don't plan on using the SD card slot as leave in expandable storage. The sd card hangs out 3/4 of the way so plan on getting a micro flash drive to take up your only USB-A slot??? They could have at least added another USB-C slot so you can charge and use devices at the same time. Huge fail here Lenovo... The good. Touchscreen works well rarely do I have to retouch to perform an action. Outside of the the random hangup the 4gb of ram is plenty for normal use, play store, linux apps and good for light gaming. Ran gta3 on here with no issues. Bluetooth works great with no disconnects. Wifi connectivity is amazing no drops or lag on the ac 5g connection. Keyboard feels better then most chromebooks at this price point not floppy like acer or samsung. Same with the touchpad feels nice and works without issue. All in all i'm happy with it for the sale price way better then my year old Acer which was 50 dollars more. If your on the fence about a chromebook I would wait. Main reason is google is making sweeping changes to the OS which will render previous chromebooks in the dust as new ones are released but if your like me and upgrade once a year this will be a fine device to fill that roll.

The Lenovo C330 Chromebook, with MediaTek-8173c processor, was built for Android Play Store Apps. It provides USB Type-C video-out and charging for added versatility. The C330 is a value-minded Chromebook that provides 2 in 1 functionality with its 360-degree touchscreen. The C330 weighs just 2.68 lbs. If you are looking for a value minded 11.6" 2 in 1 Chromebook, the Lenovo C330 Chromebook will be a good choice. Lenovo

You can web surf and check email on this Lenovo Chromebook, albeit a little more slowly than on a midline Win 10 laptop with 8GB RAM, but this is less of an investment at its Black Friday $179 sale price. You also have the added option of playing certain Android Play Store games on this Chromebook, as it's compatible right out of the box. Fair warning, though: Some games run, some run in a tiny window, and some don't run at all on the current Chrome OS as of November 2018. The laptop quality overall feels solid and well crafted. Don't change Chrome's text size from its native medium setting, however, or web page designs and game window sections start to overlap themselves, rendering certain buttons unreachable and certain texts unreadable, not to mention lining up touches on the touch screen gets quite wonky, too. The hard glass touch screen responds well at this Chromebook's native resolution and with its native medium font, however. The keyboard isn't backlit, but it is more solid and the keys are a little higher and easier to use than the ones on my midline Dell laptop (regular sell price $599; I got it at the early Black Friday sale for $399). Battery life seems good: I'm on my 3rd day of intermittent use on its first charge, with 34% left, even multitasking and playing and an Android game for a couple hours besides. I am still trying to get this Chromebook to recognize my MP3s I've put on a 128GB SD card formatted in exFAT, but the Google music app seems to want money for you to even begin to use it, and VLC isn't picking up the SD card yet. I'm a Windows user who's still new to that so I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. Nice machine for the money, although I still prefer my PC gaming tower and Dell laptop. :P

This is a great Chromebook! I wouldn't ever buy a Chromebook for over $300 simply because Chromebooks aren't meant to be luxury machines like Macs in my opinion. For the price, this little convertible really delivers. I can easily flip the screen into tablet mode and a cool touch is that Chrome OS recognizes when it's been flipped into a tablet because it flips my "shelf" (Taskbar) and also enables some really cool touch gestures like swiping up from the bottom to go to the app menu! My main complaint is that the device is somewhat flimsy-feeling. It doesn't feel cheap, but occasionally when flipping the screen a very quiet but still audible "snap" can be heard coming from the hinge. There's also a tiny gap between plastic seams on the hinge as well, giving the appearance of a crack, which is disconcerting, but it's been there ever since I took the device out of the box, so I guess it's normal? A quick note about the pictures I uploaded with this review: The wallpaper that's on there is mine, not the one that's there when you turn it on for the first time, and I set the bar position to the left in laptop mode, which is also not the default. The OS will look somewhat different when you buy it yourself and turn it on.

Black Friday Special. Purchased two of these for my kids. Both use Chromebooks at school and are required to complete homework via internet. My wife's laptop is taped together from their poor handling and now they both need to complete homework at the same time so my laptop has been in danger. Not to mention all the junk that has found its way on my laptop from kid internet game sites. To my knowledge my "real" Levenovo Thinkpad has fallen off the table onto the floor at least once and several times had the power yanked out via tripping on the power cord. They aren't allowed to have the charger anymore... So this was a purchase to protect my laptop. The chromebook can reach the internet and do basic stuff. It is not fast, but does have a touchscreen. At the Black Friday price this is an amazing deal. Full MSRP of $279 is a little rich for this guy. I would be ok at $225-$250 because of the below issues. This appears to be a white version of the 300e. I'm not sure if it is spill resistant. It does lack ports, I would have like a 2nd USB-A & 2nd USB-C ports on the other side as well. There should always be 2x USB-A ports, one for a jumpdrive and one for a mouse. I've not plugged in a full size SD card yet, but other reviewers have said they stick out. Which sounds odd to me. Just something to double check if you are planning to leave it plugged in.

I am a grad student online. I have a full featured laptop as is required by my university, but I also wanted a cheaper more rugged alternative that I can throw in my purse and use while I'm at Starbucks or something. This Lenovo Chromebook is perfect. I am able to use Microsoft Office apps like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Granted you can't create any huge presentations like you could with a Windows or Mac, but this Chromebook is totally capable if you need to write reports, create simple spreadsheets, and quick slideshows. Graphics aren't the greatest but that's not really what this is for. I like how it's touchscreen because I actually prefer that over using the trackpad. Keys are easy to type on. Keep in mind this is a smaller notebook so if you're used to having larger keyboards, it will take a bit to get used to. The keyboard isn't backlit, which is probably the only thing that really bums me out about this Chromebook. All of that being said, I don't think it's really worth the full price of $279. I got it for about $100 less during a sale, so I'd suggest waiting around for another similar sale.

I was sick of long boot times so thought I would try a Chrome machine. The Good: I love the concept of the 2:1, and it works slick on pure internet and most google applications. I also love how it turns on in moments versus the eternal Windows startup I've used my entire life. Battery life is much, much better than a Windows laptop. The compact size is great. The Bad: Unfortunately, I am in a family of 6 and need Office support plus the more robust storage. If you use OneDrive or need Office tools, this machine is not for you. Even on regular applications, the machine will occasionally bog down and need restarted. Finding and using files in OneDrive is next to impossible, as is keeping the files organized. It hates streaming onto the television via the HDMI cable. Conclusion. I am hardly a power user, but I need to use a simple spreadsheet or word document now and then. And all of my files and photos have migrated to OneDrive - I could not migrate to Chrome if I wanted. I realize most of the above is about software rather than the machine, but I bought the machine to use and the software incompatibilities make the machine a paperweight at this point. I am going to have to go back to a Windows machine. Shame.

I bought this laptop last month and so far I've had a solid experience with it. Despite running on an ARM64 processor, the MTK MT8173 coupled with 4GB of RAM delivers a smooth user experience under normal load, which is perfect for day-to-day use. By normal load, I mean that I'm not tab hoarding or multitasking between a multitude of applications. Moving forward, the touch screen is very responsive and accurate, surprisingly. No ghost touches to be witnessed or aggressive tapping required. As for storage space, 32GB is completely fine for a Chromebook, especially if you're going to use this device for streaming or editing documents on the go. Then there is build quality, this laptop is entirely plastic and the hinges do creak a bit, which is the only con I can think of. The Lenovo C330 is probably the best performing Chromebook you can buy (right now) that sits between the $200-$300 price range. Every other Chromebook in the same price bracket runs on slow, dual-core Braswell CPUs.

I snagged this Chromebook on an early Black Friday deal for under $200. I like that it's both touchscreen and convertible to a tent or tablet mode. I've been using it for light browsing about a week and I haven't had to charge it yet after the initial charge. It's the perfect size for me to keep near the couch or bed and be able to browse and shop. I've installed Netflix and a couple other apps and so far so good. I like that the charger is USB-C so it will be able to share chargers with other devices or my work laptop rather than the proprietary charger I saw on a competing product. The one problem I have with this is that it has a standard SD card reader and if you insert a card it sticks out from the side. I would prefer either microSD or that the card sits flush to the computer so that you can leave the card in for extra storage.

This and chrome OS is a wonderful reassessment of what it means to own a computer - it doesn’t need to be expensive or do everything, or have the newest parts to be innovative. To Lenovo’s credit, the keyboard and track pad are wonderful- the keyboard is better than any other I’ve had in my house including the latest MacBook. For Best Buy, thanks for honoring the price match. If you’re an average word processing and web person, there is no reason to buy a $1000+ computer (or a tablet). This travels well, has a great battery life, boots up in seconds, you get 100gb cloud storage for two years for free right now. What’s not to like?

This is not a laptop for a gamer, but it is a great entry laptop. Not a lot of memory or blazing speed. I purchased this item so I can print from websites, something I can’t currently do with my iPad. This item was on sale for $170 and I use it in conjunction with my iPad for those items I want to print but can’t with my iPad. The keyboard is okay and it has a touchscreen. Thus far, I haven’t used it for much more than printing. The set-up was simple to my Epson XP-830 printer. Don’t expect detailed instructions to come with it — you probably don’t need it if you are already familiar with laptops. A Chromebook representative at the store told me it comes with virus protection and that these laptops are used for children in schools.

We got this computer for my mother as a Christmas present, she LOVES it! Having the touchscreen makes it so much easier for her to use it as she is used to touchscreen technology. She uses the built in apps and those from Google Play. Knowing that every time she opens it a virus scan is done helped with purchasing the Chromebook versus a regular pc, she's had several of them and all of them failed due to viruses. Make sure you get a bigger drive option if you are going to do something heavy duty. You don't need Office 365 with this computer, something it took tons of phone calls for me to figure out. I finally got a refund, but only cause I had names and phone logs on my side, so caveat l'emptor on that one. You can download those apps for free from Google Play, but they have VERY limited functionality, just go with the built in apps on Chromebook that pretty much do the same, they aren't hard to get used to.

Bought this Lenovo at Christmas for my 13 year old granddaughter. She uses it for school work and casual home use. I chose this particular laptop because of it features and durability. Given the numerous open source productivity software and apps from Chrome itself this is a great alternative to MS and iOS based laptops. For those who do not know, Lenovo has been around since 1984 in China and bought out IBM ThinkPad laptop and desktop division in 2005. For the most part I find that the quality is still there. I feel like I really got a bargain because this laptop has a touch screen, 4GB Memory and a 32GB eMMC Flash solid state drive. Less moving parts means greater dependability. The 720p webcam is a plus and it takes still shots for those duck lip selfies or you can video teleconference with others over the Internet. Feature rich, great price and the backing of Best Buy. What else does one need?

Excellent value in a Chromebook. Built like tank, designed for the education market. Maybe a bit heavy given the screen size but again it is built for abuse or at least that is the claim. I am not likely to abuse like a school kid might but the value caught my eye and the ability to use a tablet is a nice plus. All the Android apps I have tried run fine, a few will only run in "phone" size or full screen but are still perfectly usable in the smaller size. Battery life seems excellent, have not tested it all that much but looks like it would easily last a full day with average use. I have not observed any issues with as many as 8 tabs open in Chrome so seems to have plenty of power. Very happy so far.

I love the fast turn on and small size so easy to take it with me. It signed into all my Google stuff once I sign in. Very happy. I think this will be a life saver for on the go. Even at home I take it all over, since I don't have a single work spot. I like all the features for designs on the home page. Neat wall paper too! The camera works good. We bought Chromebooks for each of our kids. They are super quick and very light. The kids do mostly homework on them, and they have experienced no issues working on them. We have been able to program one of them to require a security code that is sent to Mom's phone when our daughter attempts to log on. She cannot log on until Mom's shares the code. This security feature is enabled in my son's Chromebook, but we can't seem to get it to work. I will probably have to reset the Chromebook, but I suppose things like this happen. Since Google markets the Books to kids for school, I would have liked more security features built into them. I recommend seeking additional security options if you want to manage the time your kids spend on the computer and limit the content they view. Unfortunately, you may have to pay extra for Circle or some other product.

I have found this a very good inexpensive 2 in 1. I bought if for travel, and it does very well for email and surfing the internet. The screen is very good, and the hardware is responsive. I have only three issues that kept me from giving it a 5. The first is it hangs when I try to use it to stream to my TV. This could be an issue with a cheap slow CPU or WiFi hardware. My other laptop doesn't have this problem, when I run them in parallel. The second is that the speakers are mediocre at best. The final is that the email clients are not good if you want to access several email accounts. Thunderbird, where are you! But this is a problem with Google and Chrome, and not the laptop. I'm thinking of installing Linux on it.

I needed an easy to use, light (lite if you’re a drinker of a certain beer), and inexpensive internet device for my mother-in-law. I’m glad to report this device meets all these criteria. The device is inexpensive, not cheap. The screen has enough resolution for email and web browsing. The touch screen is accurate and easy to use. I believe it’s capacitive as opposed to force touch. Since I just bought it, I can’t speak to its durability, but seems pretty well built for normal use. That being said, I doubt it would survive a significant drop undamaged. For a senior user, the nice keyboard is less intimidating than only depending on a touch interface (i.e. iPad). I’m honestly a bit surprised at how much I like the device and its usability.

I would recommend this to a friend
