Fine Fast Full Featured. But No Sound.

Only issue: I cannot get the headphone jack to work. No sound. Tried everything. I've read this is a problem with other owners as well. I have my headphones plugged into my LG monitor as a workaround and getting sound that way.

Since you are getting sound through your monitor headphone jack, we know the system's sound card is working. That leaves the 3.5mm headphone jack on your system. We suggest you bring your system in to your local Best Buy and have the Geek Squad check the headphone jack on your system.

This box does what it should with no issues but as other reviews have said it is much slower (not a gamer) for normal stuff than you would expect from its specs.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaCentre 710 desktop. This system should be a fast system with its Core I-5 processor and 8GB of RAM and a discrete graphics card. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults.

I have only had it a short time but so far so good. This is what my son-the computer geek-suggested.

The only problem with this computer is the lack of USB ports on the front. There should be more than two available.

There are hundreds for free instructional videos there about Windows 10. Just type Windows 10 Introduction in to the YouTube search window. You can watch free videos there that will show you the basics all the way up to tips and tricks videos and they're all free.

The wireless connection had errors and did not work out of the box. I connected to the router by ethernet and gave it some time to update and then it worked fine. No issues since.

With regard to the WiFi connection, it sounds like there was a need for a driver update, which you accomplished by connecting to your router via ethernet cable and connecting to the internet. We are pleased to hear that the IdeaCentre 710 is working out so well for your children.

I had to purchase another computer on the advice of my Geek Squad technician, and did so with the assistance of a close friend. It was assembled for me and so far is working fine.

Great for basic office work

Haven't tried any games with it as that was not what it was purchased for. Clean design and enough USB ports for what I needed it to do. Not a super fancy setup but works as intended and should last for 5+ years.

Needed a new computer - no nonsense
