Great design and size, but has limitations

I bought this as an open-box item from Best Buy for a great price. It is plenty fast and operates smoothly. The 64 GB flash drive handicaps this to mainly an internet machine. I had to have Windows 10 reinstalled following a Microsoft upgrade last year which killed the system. I am currently installing a 500 GB hard drive to remedy the storage issue. I had been utilizing an external HD to handle my larger files. Unfortunately, I can't add RAM to the model. I will still come out ahead monetarily on this unit, in spite of the inconveniences that I encountered.

    The slowness can be fixed!

My mom bought this for me for Christmas; she was pretty skeptical because of the reviews on here saying it was slow! I decided to give it a chance because I was confident I could fix it. Well, I did and this laptop is awesome! I'm a college student and it's super portable and the touch screen doesn't have much delay when you fix the problem! The issue is the audio driver on the laptop. Lenovo fixed the issue a while ago but they never fixed it when they never applied it when you set it up, I guess. They have a Realtek Audio Driver update on their website! Be sure to check it out! If you aren't sure or aren't super computer savy, bring it into the store and Geeksquad will help you out! Takes a few minutes. Honestly, I'm sad this laptop is getting bad reviews! It's a really nice computer! Convenient, portable, and I love how the touch screen can rotate to its side! :)

Good Budget 2-in-1 but not perfect

I am an IT Professional, and I received this from a client who said it was slow and had trackpad issues, same as the Lenovo 100S-11IBY she had purchased and replaced with this device with the same basic specs but smaller storage. The Celeron processor, and the 2 GB of ram won’t allow for multitasking more than a few apps. I ran msconfig, and under the services tab, clicked hide all Microsoft services, and disabled all other services. I opened task manager and disabled all items in startup. I unistalled MacAfee antivirus( use the windows defender, I watch here I go). After doing that and rebooting, there were no issues with performance. I would recommend doing this before trying to run updates. The pros are the 64 GB storage (do not get one with 32, not much space free after windows installation), it has a full HDMI and Ethernet Port, SD Card Reader, USB 3.0(1) and USB 2.0(2) ports as well, and wireless is seems to work well, and the battery life is good. The cons are the keyboard can be hard to type on, the screen is lackluster you have to look straight at it from one angle, you can’t upgrade the memory or storage. Out of the box it will run slow and will need startup items and services disabled in order for it to be usable. I would not recommend it as a primary computer, this device is more like a tablet. Spend a little more money and get a traditional laptop with at least a Pentium processor (recommend an I3), with at least 4 GB of ram and at least 500 GB hard drive, and a bigger screen.

Lenovo is a great fit for a simple laptop. I needed an inexpensive, backpack-sized touch-screen laptop for school. I can create on One Note, surf the internet while researching and pocket those notes in Microsoft Suite. It fit the budget.

I bought this for a carry around for skype. It works as well as whatever wifi is available. The keyboard is comfortable, it's not heavy and slides easily into my purse.

    Too slow to even use

Bought this yesterday brand new and upon setting it up it is way too slow. The sales rep said it would be slower but the mouse wouldn't even track smoothly on the desktop with no applications running. Upon opening the internet, it took about 15 seconds for stuff to load before I could access the address bar to type something in. This happened 10 times in a row. I boxed it back up and am taking it back today. It's a shame that computer companies make these "affordable computers" but they don't even function. I'll try my luck with another brand...

I bought this maybe 9 months ago and I can't use it for anything. The hard drive is full and I have only added iTunes and 2 or 3 other apps. There are no pictures, videos or music. I have "cleaned up" the hard drive and still can't find any free storage. Just about every program I use gives me an error that the hard drive is full. I bought an external hard drive and still can't solve the problem.

Ran Lenovo diagnostics, updated drivers as Levono suggests - still slow you will waste your time waiting; cursor with mouse or touchpad stutters and moves SLOW. Try to log on to a web page and it takes way too long. Avoid this computer.

Spec is nice. I like the size, and what I can do with this. It is just that this pc is very slow. This can not keep up with internet speed. This needs double memory. Calculation ability is too low.

Since the screen worked normally for a short time before the issue occurred it sounds like it may be a conflict with a Windows 10 update and the older existing video drivers on the system. Follow the link below to look for new video driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. Here is the link:

So slow. Even with an SSD, its excruciating. I have a 3 year old android tablet I got for a penny from US Cellular that is 3x as fast. Screen is garbage. Outlook quit working. Pointer is jumpy. Complete Junk.

Second Lenovo to go to Geek Squad

ALWAYS get the extended warranty. These Lenovos are trouble! The first one I purchased only lasted 2 years before it had to be refurbished. (Luckily, 2 wks before the warranty ran out!) The second one has now stopped functioning after only 9 months! Will not purchase this product again, and will probably steer clear of Best Buy all together. SMH
