A: eMMC is a format of SSD. It is 64GB of SSD storage. There is an SD Card reader that you can use to add more storage memory - Up to 512GB. The internal SSD can not be upgraded.
Q: Can you download apps and use as a tablet as well as a laptop?
A: There are Windows-based "APPS" available at the Windows Shop location for download. Some are free some are for a fee. The Android-based APPS you find on your phone or tablet will not be available on this device because of the differing operating systems.

A: No, do not install the software. Microsoft Office (including Word) is already installed on this device as part of the Windows 10 operating system. Use the product key to activate Word in the program that is already installed. It must be Word 2010 or later to be compatible with Windows 10. According to Microsoft, Word 7.0 is part of the Microsoft Office Suite 2007. This is not compatible with Windows 10. The product key will not work on this device.
Q: Is this a good computer for a college student and will it last 4 years?
A: It would be a great computer for taking to class to take notes on or make small changes to projects while at school, but I wouldn't recommend buying it as a primary laptop to last through all of college. The processor is pretty slow and 2Gb of RAM doesn't allow you to run very many programs. The 64Gb hard drive is also way too small for a daily-use PC. My daughter only uses it for work at school, has hardly any programs on it, and it's already down below 25Gb free space. I think this machine is high enough quality to last for 4 years, but it will be obsolete well before it dies.
Q: Is the RAM user-upgradable like a laptop or soldered to the motherboard like a tablet?
A: Maximum RAM is 2GB on this system, it is not upgradable.
A: Yes, you could use it for a home job, but you would be better off with a more powerful machine with more memory and on-board storage. This machine is just not designed or equipped to handle the demands of all but the most basic of at-home jobs. Spend an extra hundred bucks and get something that will probably better meet your needs.
