    Great Laptop

I bought this laptop for my wife so she could play games and we could Skype. She loves the laptop, runs very well. Got it discounted as an open box item, but this laptop is a steal even at full retail! An i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB hard drive will not come this cheap from anyone else! My wife loves the huge 17" screen, and it plays most games very well! Would definitely buy again!!

I LOVE this laptop! Review from a IT.

As a tech in the industry (IT Support) I must say I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a laptop. I never write reviews for anything I ever buy but I am extremely pleased with this unit so I will be 100% honest. I hope this helps who ever is considering buying this. The pricing it ridiculously great. I jumped on it real quick and now its sold out I believe. Other laptops around with same parts providing same performance can easily cost you more than $500 (feel free to check around). Has great specs for a great price. I will personally be using this for web development (heavy Adobe usage and CMS usage as well as many more online apps). Been using it now for some days and I am very pleased with the performance. The i5 and 8GB of RAM lets me do things with ease. So now for a little bad news for the regular not so techy users (was not really an issue for me but rather just state it for you). Like many Laptops it comes with excessive bloatware (software you dont need). Now you might say eh I dont mind. However Lenovo was known to release a very dangerous software that is like a root certificate for your browser when using anything involving https. HTTPS is used by website that want to provide a secure connection (example: accessing your bank acount, email, or online stores). The software is called Superfish. Lenovo knew about this and took action. All new laptops are not suppose to come with this anymore. Also in case yours did come with this no worries Lenovo provided a tool to remove it and also manual instructions if you prefer that. What I personally enjoy doing to have my computer completely free of bloatware or over preloaded crapware is reinstalling Windows. Make sure you reinstall Windows with an OEM Microsoft disc image though because if you reinstall from the Windows image that came in the laptop it will just reinstall all the bloatware again. I love this laptop and hope you can enjoy it too.

Nice Laptop for the price. OS Blows though...

Let me first say that I bought this in store at Daytona Beach during bike week 2016. I live in WV. For the price you can't beat this laptop (LT). I dare you to find an i5, 8mb ram and a 1tb hd for under 400 toads. No need to look, because it is not out there that I have found. Hits: 1. Very nice styling for a 400 buck LT. Looks overbuilt. 2. Specifications. As discussed above 3. Nice big screen Misses: 1. Keys are not back lit. 2. Speakers are underneath the forward edge. As long as the LT is on a hard surface it sounds pretty good. Put it in your lap, and the sound is "muddy". 3. Operating system. I hate Windows 10. 4. Battery life on high Even with the above misses, I highly recommend this LT. The OS sucks IMHO, your opinion may differ. I hope it does. I really like this LT, even with it's shortcomings. For the price, you can't go wrong.

    Good value for the money

Bought this laptop yesterday (before it went on sale today...doh!!) and powered it up today. Did the normal setup. I will eventually replace the hard disk with a SSD in due time. The computer itself is mainly for basic duties. The screen is TN based so it isn't the most colorful and sharp out there. However, there is a HDMI port so you can hook it to a bigger and better monitor. I'm going to use this for Serato DJ and not photo / video editing so color quality isn't important for the use it is intended for. I don't like laptop keyboard and mouse setups so I have a wireless usb keyboard and mouse. These units tend to fly off of the shelves and they will for sure when they are on sale. So far, no problems. I'll do a follow-up review later on.

I've purchased Lenovo before and haven't been disappointed by this unit either. I purchased this for its large screen and price point. It has Windows 10 and was concerned about lack of driver software available yet for older devices. I was able to connect and print with an older Canon printer so I was satisfied there. It was refreshingly free of bloatware which I always appreciate. It's not a powerhouse for gaming and such but for browsing, streaming and Office work, it was more than acceptable. Built in camera and mic worked well with Skype (download the Windows version for the desktop, not the app). For the money spent, I was satisfied with its performance.

I took advice from computer tech to buy a Lenovo as he felt they were the best on the market. when I started looking as usual you get what you pay for and found Lenovo to be quite pricey. I also read as much information as I could on them and found 99% of people like them. I then decided this is what I wanted and began to watch the sales and finally Best Buy had this G70 on sale. I bought it on line and had it within a couple of days. I am not one to read directions so did the quick setup and off I went. I have had this for several months with no issues. It is quick easy to use and I love the big screen. I use mine for music I am a guitar player that uses Band in the Box and this works well. I do watch some movies on it and have to say I am impressed with the picture. The sound for a laptop is ok but I hook up speakers to this and it sounds awesome for both the music and movies. I am not a gamer so can't give you any information on this. I would recommend anyone looking for a good laptop at a decent price to buy it. I have not had any internet issues with it works great there. Micro-Soft 365 works great. Acrobat works great. I check my email and have no issues. All and all a great laptop.

Really like this laptop - wanted a laptop that does not have a touch screen feature. It has a nice big screen, bit heavy of if you are going to take on trips- But I plan on using it at home so I like the large screen. very fast.

I have bought this laptop recently and so far, so good. Would like to mention few pros and cons: Pros: This lenovo G70 laptop is really good to buy with these specifications(i5-8GB-1TB HD) in this price. Can enjoy work, movies, games with the big screen of this laptop. Cons: No backlit keyboard Laptop size may give trouble if you have to travel with it frequently.

I like the 17" screen since I use the laptop in place of a desktop. I bought this to replace a 2 year old Toshiba which had a bunch of problems. Final one was screen - it just went white. Toshiba service was awful - including sending it back in the same condition saying nothing was wrong. My computer consultant has taken Toshiba off his recommended list because of the poor service. Lenovo was one that was still on. Screen resolution for this Lenovo is excellent. Still getting used to Windows 10. This laptop has a lot for the price. It has worked well so far but I've only used it a few days, so can't speak to durability. I bought this last week. It went on sale this week for $70 less. I was quite pleased that Best Buy's price match only required bringing in the receipt and the $70 was credited back to me. No hassle which was great.

I like somethings about this laptop the processor speed and all the features, but I don't know if its the computer or the trial offer Kaspersky Internet Security that came with this computer. Computer works pretty good except when it comes to certain emails that I have received daily for several years with click here to start survey or go to the site well some of these will not open I tried disabling popup blocker did not matter, I can go on my cell, my other laptop or my desktop that have Norton Anti-Virus installed and I can perform these daily tasks. My next step is uninstall Kaspersky and install Norton to see if that works.

    Adequate laptop

Works well. I have encountered only one problem. To date no one seems to have an answer. The number lock does not stay engaged. I find the mouse/touch pad sensitivity is TOO sensitive. The pointer seems to wander. I switched to a wireless mouse and have the problem after an hour or so. I also find the keys on the key board less sensitive than others I have used. It is a good price and works well, has a learning curve. I've used laptops for 18 years so I have a good working knowledge of laptops. For the price you would be hard pressed to find a better computer for this price.

There is so much factory-installed bloat on this laptop that at first glance it looks like a 17.3" smart phone that I did not want or need. But, once the bloat is removed, the laptop becomes a worthy computer with amazing screen clarity. I have had the Lenova for under two months, and thus far Windows 10 appears to be the best OS since Windows XP.

Purchased the Lenovo G70-80 17.3 Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB - 1TB Hard Drive - Black due to the price, size and extras. I use Photoshop and the large monitor size is perfect. Plus, the image and color is great. Yes, it's bigger than what most want, but I don't travel with mine, so not a concern for me. With 8 gigs of RAM and a 1 TB hard drive, there is t much it won't handle. Only gave it 4 stars due to weight, even though it's large, it has a plastic cover (not aluminum) so I would think it could cut weight somehow. Very happy with it.

I was looking for this kind of laptop and i found the perfect match. Got it on sale at Bestbuy and now i feel i should bought another! I had a Dell before and compared to that, Lenovo performs equally good. The only problem is the keyboard design. I feel with a lot of space for a 17" laptop, the keyboard could have designed better. For e.g., the right Shift key very small i always end up pressing Enter key instead. May be I need to get used to it from my Dell days. Go for it!

After purchasing the first one we downloaded antivirus software and windows stop working so any problems the store allowed us to trade it for a new one within the 14 days. After getting the second one even with being skeptical due to the first one software crashing weary downloaded the same antivirus software successfully and the laptop is fantastic.

The specs on this device are ridiculous for only 449.99. You receive an intel core i5-5200u processor, 8GB Ram, and 1TB of space. A laptop with these specs usually costs 599 or upwards of that. Great value, great brand, awesome specs. I just bought mine. it is definitely a steal, don't miss out!

This laptop is a workhorse. I needed a new laptop after my old one died, and I was on a budget. I wanted something with more than i5 and 8GB ram but this little laptop has far exceeded everything I've thrown at it. It is used for pretty much everything other than hardcore gaming. However, it has had no issue running some games that aren't super demanding.

For the price its hard to beat, great starter laptop or just a back up computer for the house 17in is kinda big to travel with, but doable if needed. Good size for the house I set it up with a wireless mouse and keyboard combo on my desk. Never really care for the touch pad. It is not a touch screen but you would have to pay more for that.

When I saw this cheap laptop with all of its specifications, I knew I had to get it. As I waited to it delivered, I saw the other reviews and begun to wonder of I made a mistake. It turns out it's a great laptop! It runs ImageJ, Solidworks, Matlab, and many more softwares that I use. I guess a problem could be that the keyboard doesn't light up, but I really don't see that as a problem like other people. Additionally, I have not experienced any of the other problems that other people claim in their reviews.

Due to overcrowding at my work location we are now required to move from desk to desk and even work from home. I am a tech writer so documents are my business. Since I have multiple documents open most of the time I needed a larger screen and processing power for the MS Office Suite and multiple Adobe graphics applications. This nifty, light-weight, wide screen laptop gives the freedom to roam around the facility and work in a productive environment. I had trouble finding a travel case for it.
